  • The hosts were as hospitable as expected. The neighborhood is safe, close to the subway and around the corner from a juice stall. The room is spacious, quiet and comfortable. I had to leave the bedroom door slightly open for ventilation but I am used to that. The shower was more cool than warm but that may have been my mistake in operating it. I would definitely stay here again.

  • The reservation was canceled 17 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Ana Laura and Guillermo were very nice to me. The rooms are in an old building and are very spacious. The location is perfect. If you want a room with character and a real DF feel, I recommend these hosts.

  • The spot is super located. Roma Norte is a nice place. There are metro train and buses just around the corner. And the house itself is still a quiet place. It's been overall a very pleasant stay with very nice people.

  • This particular slice of Mexico City is ideal for exploring central DF. I found out that the entire apartment building is used as artists residences. It's the next block over from the famous Calle Mascota (a series of private streets kind of like a Place des Vosges).

These digs are a little more utilitarian, but the courtyard captured a bit of the "real" Mexico and was a joy to return to. The courtyard has a studied bohemian neglect, layers of green paint on layers of casual repair and adaptation (which I loved).

The room is basic, but quite large. You'll be living with Guillermo and his young family, but this never got in my way and nothing I did seemed to ruffle them.

As in many Mexican homes, one lights the hot water 10-20 minutes before a shower to avoid burning gas in a pilot light--works totally fine for flexible people. If you want to wave your credit card, go to a hotel.

They left enough space in the refrigerator for me to stash a couple of beers. There's a proper local mercado across the street and you can cook there too, but better to take a 5 minute walk North into Zona Rosa proper or South into Roma for all the delicious food the city has to offer!

Enjoy! This is a real gem.

  • The apartment is in a fantastic location, super-close to the metro, markets and walking distance to fun areas in Mexico City (Reforma, Roma, Condesa, etc).

The old building has a lot of character. The room itself is spartan but comfortable. It is a good fit for backpackers and the like. It makes for a great base to explore Mexico City. Memo and his family were lovely hosts.

  • Guillermo is a wonderful host! He came for me at the airport and waited more than an hour for me due to flight delay.
The room has a lot if space and has all the necessary. The neighborhood is great and the patios are awesome!
Just a pity that there were nobody when I left, I would have like to say goodbye!
I definitely recommend his place if you have to stay in Mexico!

  • Fantastic, very safe, very inexpensive and central location just feet away from the subway. Great food market, restaurants, shops and a mall very nearby. Huge room with comfortable bed and sofa and dresser. I worked on my laptop computer all day with great Wi-Fi. Guillermo even put a computer desk in their for me to work. Warm, friendly and very helpful hosts, Guillermo gave me tons of information about the city. Sunny balcony just outside room that looks into a huge courtyard. Famous art school on other side of building lead to interesting discussions with them. Very historic building. I highly recommend for budget travelers.
