About This Listing
Centrally located in Cape Breton at 7201 Grand Narrows Hwy (Rt 223). GO UP STEEP DRIVEWAY TO TOP OF HILL. Within an hour of most sites. Breakfast included! A large farm dog, cat & two horses. Lovely and quiet with a beautiful view!
I have two rooms with new full size beds (See also "The Field Room" listing at https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/3180359).
This listing is for "Belle's Room." Two guests per room. I offer a light or full breakfast! Both rooms share a bathroom, but I have another bathroom downstairs available as well. A single bed is available at the head of the stairs for an extra $10/night.
I have a steep driveway, but it is good. IF YOU ARE TOWING A TRAILER, YOU WILL NEED A 4X4 VEHICLE, but most front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive vehicles get up the hill without a problem.
I have a fantastic view of Central Cape Breton - the Great Bras D'Or Lake, Baddeck, Washabuck Peninsula, the field where Alexander Graham Bell is buried and where he conducted his kite experiments and the Bell Mansion.
I have a wireless Internet connection and router, satellite TV and a DVD for watching movies. I have an old wood road to hike on and a bench to sit on at the top of the hill! You can see Cape Smokey from my high gate at the top of my field!
Interaction with Guests
I'll interact with guests at their leisure!
I live in a quiet neighborhood of large farms with retired bachelors for neighbors and a friendly family of summer people. I am centrally located in Cape Breton, within an hour of most tourist destinations and 35 minutes from the Newfoundland Ferry! Route 223 or "Grand Narrows Hwy" is also called the "Bras D'Or Lakes Scenic Drive." My house was built on the original Pioneer Road - that's why it's 600 feet from the current highway!
You must provide your own transportation.
Check out (website hidden) for places to go hear local music!

Ann did an excellent job making us feel welcome. She was very inviting and her picture and listing is exactly what we received. We loved meeting all the animals. We had a great time visiting her and her neighbours at Beaver Cove.
We enjoyed our stay with Ann. She made us feel very welcome. The upstairs where the bedroom was situated had a nice view, was clean And come . breakfast was delicious too. Thanks ann
2 Great nights at Ann's Palace on the top of the hill.
Surrounded by nature, 2 horses, a cat and a dog (all very lovely) you'll find kindness, clean and soft bed sheet and a veeeeery good breakfast.
Thanks for having us Ann.
Ann made us feel at home. The room and bed were very comfortable.
Breakfast was great! Ann even got up extra early to make coffee and tea for us on our departure morning.
Ann was such a gracious, welcoming host! What a treat to stay with her. Her house was cozy and inviting, just as she describes. It was perfectly located for us as we were traveling to Celtic Colors events all over the island. She cooked such sumptuous breakfasts for us that we were able to save money by not having to eat lunch since we were so full! Love the 12 grain toast!! We would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend to anyone going to Cape Breton.
Ann was a very welcoming host! House was great, beautiful view. And breakfast was fantastic!

About the Host, Ann
I am now taking reservations for the 2015 season! I'm 600 feet up from the road on the side of the Boisdale Hills. I have a spectacular view!
I live in the center of Cape Breton Island, which forms the northern part of the province of Nova Scotia. I am approximately 30 minutes from the Trans-Canada Hwy (TCH) from either the West, via the Orangedale exit and then left onto Portage Road, which goes around Whycocomagh Bay to Rte 223, or the next exit to Little Narrows, where you take a short cable ferry, or from East via the Grand Narrows exit on the TCH.
I live on Route 223 ("Grand Narrows Hwy"), a provincial highway that was labeled by Provincial Tourism years ago as the "Bras D'Or Lakes Scenic Drive."
LOOK FOR CIVIC # 7205 ON THE TELEPHONE POLE AND A LADY BUG FLAG AT THE END OF MY STEEP, GRAVELED DRIVEWAY. MY CIVIC # is 7201 ON THE MAILBOX AT THE ROAD. I HAVE A TAN WOODEN GARBAGE BOX AT THE BASE OF MY DRIVEWAY. I'M AT THE TOP OF THE HILL. GO ALL THE WAY UP THE STEEP DRIVEWAY!
