We stayed at the cottage for three nights while attending the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The location is fabulous - very close to the Plaza and theaters and away from street noise, tucked into a back alley, nestled between a storage building and multi-unit house. The cottage is an older home with an entrance through the neighbors garden, with a gate at the top of some steps that took some negotiating to open from the inside. Communications with Sabine were excellent, with clear directions to the cottage and to the proper parking space. We did not need to contact Sabine or the neighbor throughout our stay since everything we needed was right there. The large, comfortable living room was nice to hang out in, with an oscillating fan sufficient to keep cool. The bedroom is huge and spacious, taking the entire second floor. The air conditiioning in the bedroom was a real blessing; unusually heavy forest fires to the west made a lot of smoke (two outdoor performances were canceled) and the AC allowed us to keep the windows closed from the smoke. The king size bed (a treat) was very comfortable, with good pillows and very fine sheets. The single bathroom is on the ground floor, which was not a problem. (Leaving the microwave door open as a nightlight to illuminate the stairs was all we needed.) The bath, like the kitchen, is small with limited counter space, but fully met our needs. The bath is extremely well stocked with every imaginable toiletry, and the kitchen stocked with every condiment. All the appliances were new and worked well. Overall, we thought the cottage a great value.

Nice central place to stay yet still quiet. Within walking distance for the shops, Lithia Park, Ashland creek, and the great restaurants. Great place - enjoyed it.

We LOVED staying at Sabine's place in Ashland! The photos do not do this cottage justice, it is so cute and cozy, in a wonderful location with beautiful views. Sabine and her husband went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, great prompt communication and they even chopped some firewood for us to use in their wood burning stove! We did not want to leave! Can't wait to come back, thank you Sabine!!

This place was so comfortable and charming! We found everything quite comfortable, and really appreciated its closeness to the theaters, restaurants, and downtown amenities. Still it was quiet and clean, with thoughtful availability of toiletries, etc. The bed was great, and it was very nice to have separate space from the sleeping area. I would definitely return.

Had a great stay at the Cottage in Ashland. Ideal location, easy to walk to town. The cottage itself is adorable and well-appointed with a nice cozy king sized bed. We had no problem with the AC unit keeping us cool upstairs at night on a hot weekend. The hosts went above and beyond-- when they met our little son, they brought over a box of toys which he enjoyed greatly. So thoughtful.

The host is very responsive. We were greeted by the neighbor, Susan, who was in charge for the weekend, but the host, Sabine, made herself very accessible by text and phone. The cottage is very cute and clean with lovely antique furniture. It is only a few minutes walk to the main drag where the Various theatres are located, in addition to many nice restaurants and stores

My husband Dave and I are both professional artists for the last 23 years. We moved 7 years ago from Sonoma County to our Ranch in the Rogue Valley to continue our breeding operation of Andalusian and Lusitano Horses. We love animals and the beauty of the nature that surrounds us. In our younger days, before our animals tied us down, we loved traveling extensively and still do, when we get a chance. I speak fluent German, and my Italian and Spanish are rather rusty, but I am still able to communicate.
