Interaction with Guests
We are friendly and private folks! We are here to help you acclimate to our home and the area and assist in any way so that you enjoy your stay. We are social and offer you the welcoming comforts of home along with the privacy to do what you like.
Our home is located in the "burbs" of little, friendly San Carlos right in the middle of Silicon Valley and San Francisco. Our neighborhood has a "woodsy" feel and is very quiet and private. We are minutes away from our "downtown" on Laurel Street which has plenty of good restaurants, coffe shops and nice bars.
San Carlos is Walkable. Caltrain is about 1.5 miles from the house and Samtrans buses run by. Overall, public transportation is not the best in the Bay Area as a whole. A car is recommended.
Other Things to Note
We have been hosts for over 1.5 years consistently and have traveled as guests as well, in the U.S and abroad. If you are a seasoned Airbnb guest you will appreciate the experience of our home. If you are new, you may not realize the quality of the experience until your next stay somewhere else! There is a reason we rank as superhosts! We look forward to having you in our home!
Absolutely NO smoking
There is a whole list of house tips available in each room to make your stay more enjoyable and to increase communication.
We are not big on rules but here are a few general guidelines that may help you choose or not choose our place:
1) treat our home as you would your own...respectfully with regard to cleanliness, courtesy and care.
2). We are early risers ( up at 6am) and early to bed ( usually by 10pm) on weekdays as we both work. This doesn't mean you have to be early to bed and early to rise too but, if coming in at 3 am nightly after partying is your plan, we are probably not the right place for you!
3) there may be other guests staying as well...see rule # 1 & #2 and that's about it
Enjoyed staying at Tara's. Nice place and location. Great host and other guests. I am back a second time this week in fact.
A coworker and I stayed in two of the three rooms while in town for a week. The house was very neat and was a great bargain for the area. Highly recommended.
We had a lovely time for our first airbnb experience. Tara was very accommodating and friendly. We felt totally at home in her home. The location was just right for our needs. Our GPS got us a bit lost when we first arrived, but we figured it out (it's the second Lane).
Tara is a great host! She is inviting and very great to live with. Her home is beautiful and quiet. We stayed here for over a week and it definitely felt like home near the end.
Tara was out of town, but she gave clear communication about the house. The house itself was neat as a pin, and the room was great. Although the bathroom was shared amongst the 3 bedrooms being let, there was never a problem with timing or access. I used the hot tub on the patio one night, and it was super relaxing, and definitely had enough chlorine. One person staying was out all the time, the other person mostly was on his laptop or on the back porch, and I watched golf on TV! Definitely a nice, safe neighborhood, if not a bit far from everything, and a wonderful place to stay.

We are both busy folks! Gone most days working hard, hitting the gym after. We love to be active, to laugh, to dine, to visit, and travel. At home We are fairly quiet. We hang out, garden, putter and relax by the pool when the climate is right. We have enjoyed hosting a myriad of people from around the globe and hearing their stories and entrepreneurial adventures. Our goal is to see that you are comfortable and assist where needed. We give you the independence to come and go to do what you need to get done while you are here. We provide you with your own "comforts of home" spot at the end of the day to relax as well. We look forward to having you in our home.
