We have a room in the coolest part of BCN for short stays. The room is quiet and has a view onto our balcony.
People who share our interests will get the most out of the stay: food, drink, markets, music and making the most of local businesses.
We have a single room with double bed in our lovely flat in the centre of Barcelona's hippest area, El Raval.
The flat has a great central location, from which you can visit a lot of cool places on foot (two minutes walk from MACBA or CCCB, five from las Ramblas, Pl. Catalunya, the main shopping areas and the Boqueria Market, local food shops, vintage shops, art galleries, and so on.
The building is also very well connected, with the 4 main metro lines (L1, L2, L3), bus stops, the bus stop to the airport and also a taxi stand just 3 mins away.
The room we are renting is a quiet single room with double bed and a window to our balcony, so it's pretty bright. You'll be sleeping in a brand new, comfy and enormous double bed.
The flat would be shared with me, a Catalan girl in her thirties, my boyfriend Mark, English, 32 and my three lovely and friendly cats.
We provide our guests with bedclothes, towels, keys, English tourist guides and top recommendations from a local who likes good and cheap restaurants, wine bars, local beers, cool places, cultural events, fashion, flea markets, hidden places to discover, etc.
We have lots of experience in hosting guests so we can also send you references or you can see the amazing reviews we have!
Please, feel free to ask me anything else you need to know, I'll try to get back to you!
Please, we are very flexible with check-in hours, but we are busy people and we also like enjoying what our lovely city offers. It will help A LOT if you could provide us your arrival time so we will be able to organise our day.
We like Airbnb users with a profile picture and some verifications, we'll be happy to give you any information about us but, please, collaborate with the community and upload a brief information about you in your profile!
* The flat is on the top floor and there's no lift, I'm afraid.
** Please, read the 'House Rules' before you book!

Smoking is not allowed in the apartment but you can smoke on the balcony.
(Natalia smokes :( but Mark doesn't)
This is a place for cat lovers. We have 3 cats and we are happy most of our guests loved them! If you're allergic or if cats aren't your fav animals, this is not the place where you should stay. If you're booking this room for friends, please, let them know!
Please, be quiet if you come back late at night and neighbours are sleeping.
Keep the keys in a safe place, in case you loose them we will charge 50€ from the deposit.
Enjoy Barcelona and welcome!
Many thanks again to Natalia and Mark for their hospitality. My girlfriend and I came for a second time knowing full well that we'd once again enjoy a trip to Barcelona. Very well kept home, lovely people and lovely cats.
I had a fun time staying at Natalia and Mark's place! Their place is in a great, lively, hip neighborhood, but is quiet once you enter the apartment. The bed was really comfortable, and I slept like a baby each night. Natalia was quite busy, so I only saw her for a few minutes, but Mark was there to welcome me, give me great tips (where to eat, what cool exhibits to see, etc.), and was kind enough to print train tickets for me (thank you!). I even joined in on a movie night with him and his friend on one of the evenings. And the three cats! They are so full of personality and so sweet and loving. Thank you, Mark and Natalia, for such a nice stay!
Place was great! Great neighbourhood, close to everything. Mark was there to help haul my luggage up. Lots of little thoughtful things one my forget. Mark made sure I knew where I was going and had maps, books etc.
When we arrived at the place, Mark was there and he was a very kind person. (He moved my heavy heavy baggage from the fifth floor to the first floor when I left the place)
The place is well located and close to the subway station and many other famous places.
The cats were very friendly. I miss them already!
Our stay at natalias and marcs accommodation was very pleasant. It is very quiet and very close to the center. The cats are very loving and we have fallen in love with them. We like to come again.
Natalia & Mark are ideal hosts. They are welcoming, easy going, and provide helpful suggestions about interesting places to explore and to eat. I loved their their vibrant neighborhood of El Raval because it is full of cool local shops, restaurants, cafes, galleries, and museums. I highly recommend staying with Natalia & Mark in El Raval if you want to be immersed in a real neighborhood that's safe, friendly, and endlessly fascinating. I will definitely stay with Natalia & Mark if I return to Barcelona. And, ... last but not least... the three cats are adorable! Highly recommended! Gracias Natalia & Mark!
Communication with Natalia was always easy, informative and punctual. She emailed me a few days before my trip to confirm things and to give me useful instructions on how to reach their apartment. When I arrived, I was met by Natalia's partner who was very welcoming.
The apartment is very well located if you want to be close to the center, but away from the touristy noise. It is situated in a rather authentic little street, with some fruits/veg shops, a bar, a coffee place/bakery, a small supermarket. The main "touristy" attractions are close by, easy walking distance, and the metro is not far either (2-3 minutes' walk). The room itself was at the back of the apartment, it is clean and sparse but cute; There's a little window opening onto the balcony. The mattress was firm and really good, I slept really well. Unlike the Spanish, I like going to bed early enough; I first thought that this might clash with Natalia and Mark's way of life but they were very considerate and quiet -which I am thankful for. The cats didn't bother me at all, they were not intrusive. The bathroom was clean (I was given one towel), and I could use the kitchen if necessary -which I did, but not intensively. There were a few things in the fridge that I could use, which was handy.
I was out and about most of the days so didn't see Natalia and Mark much, but Mark recommended a few places/things to do when I first arrived and I am sure that they would have helped with any further question. I would have liked to maybe have a second towel as mine got a little bit dirty after using it at the beach, but I guess I should have asked. I broke a coffee cup one day and Natalia told me not to worry.
I feel that this room is a good, cheap and honest option. It is really good value for money for a city like Barcelona. Thanks you to both and best wishes. Laura
