About this listing
A top-notch Durango AirBNB, with excellent location, amenities, and price. Private bedroom and bath, and spacious shared living room and kitchen, in a beautiful remodeled home. Walk to downtown, the train, trails, and the riverwalk in minutes!
I have a great remodeled home in a quiet neighborhood where you can walk to historic downtown Durango in minutes! Guests have a private bedroom on the first floor with a a full sized bed, walk in closet (great for bikes and skis!), and of course fresh linens and towels. Guests enjoy a private bathroom, laundry facilities, full kitchen and spacious living room (shared), a propane grill, and a hot tub which is always clean and hot! The house is bright, spacious, clean, and comfortable, and is a great place to relax after a day of work or play in the Four Corners. I love my home here in Durango, and I would be happy to share my space with you and make your stay as extraordinary as possible.
Guests will have access to everything on the first floor which includes the private bedroom (closest room to the front door) and bathroom, laundry room, full kitchen and living room (shared), hot tub, and propane grill. Parking is available on the opposite side of the street.
Interaction with Guests
I tend to interact with my guests mainly in the evenings or weekends if our schedules overlap. I pride myself in giving my guests as much privacy as they prefer, but I also do everything I can to help them settle in, and answer any questions about the home or the Durango area.
The house is four blocks southeast of Historic Downtown Durango, which means you can walk to the Historic Narrow Gauge Train, the Animas River Walk, and all of the restaurants, shops, galleries, and parks that make this town so fantastic! There are also many hiking and biking trails right down the street.
There is a local public transit stop right outside of our home. A schedule of stop times and locations is available in the room. Private transportation is available from the airport for a reasonable price - just ask and I can provide info about that. Plenty of parking is available, but I ask that guests park on the opposite side of the street, as it is a small driveway and I have neighbors that come and go often.
Other Things to Note
I ask that guests please provide a complete profile when requesting a reservation, ideally with a photo, verifications (phone, email, and/or social media), and a bit of info about yourself. This helps me get to know you, and lets me be confident that you are who you say you are. Please see https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/67 for more info about this.
One final thing to note: I have two very friendly cats. They do NOT go into the guest bedroom and I am happy to discuss options for guests with traveling pet partners.
The Durango vacation rental permit number for this listing is 14-334.
The house will be available for check-in anytime from 6:00 PM on, unless arrangements are made to check in earlier, which I can accomodate in some cases.
The house is only to be used by those who are renting the room, please no parties or bringing people back to the house overnight. However, feel free to have guests visit during the day as long as I am informed beforehand.
Smoking is allowed outside only.
I am more than happy to provide additional sheets, blankets, and towels on request, but laundry will only be done every three nights unless greatly needed.
Guests are asked to provide their own food and drinks, but I am happy to provide coffee and tea. Durango's tap water is excellent, so most guests don't bother with bottled water. :-)
I ask that unless you are staying through the following night that check out is at noon.
Our stay at Jon's place was an excellent experience! His cozy home is in a quiet neighborhood near downtown Durango and the Durango-Silverton train station. The beautiful Animas River is just a short walk away.
Our room and private bathroom were perfect... clean, quiet and comfortable. The jacuzzi privileges were a nice bonus!
Jon is a real gem. We couldn't have had a nicer host and we loved his two cats!
We would highly recommend staying with Jon to anyone visiting Durango!
Everything was great for our two night stay in Duango. Jon was very cordial and helpful. His home was very comfortable and within walking distance to downtown Durango but also far enough out to be quiet at night. We would definitely look to stay again on our next trip to Durango.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Durango and the hospitality extended by Jon. Jon's house is very convenient and a short walk to downtown. There are numerous eating establishments nearby and his house is close to the main arteries going thru Durango (College Ave and highway 550).
Jon was a gracious host. His place was a perfect launching point for hiking around Durango and exploring the city. The main downtown area is easily walkable. Wish I could have stayed longer.
Jon's home is wonderful and is immaculately clean. We had a queen sized bed with a large closet and a private bath.
Unfortunatley, we didn't have a lot of time with Jon, but when we did he was a wonderful and informative host. Jon's reccommendations were top notch, and his 2 cats were a delight.
I would love to stay at Jon's home again and really enjoyed Durango.
Jon and his house are awesome! The location was perfect - a few blocks from historic Durango, and helpful for getting oriented. There were some handy books and magazines about the area and Jon offered insights and tips for our various travels. It was nice to be offered the use of the sitting area to unwind, drink coffee, or plan the next adventure.
My friend and I appreciated having this spot "to land" in Colorado, and I will definitely consider it again the next time I head to Durango!
Jon is a great host - very welcoming and accommodating! His home is clean, comfortable and within walking distance of downtown, river trail and other points of interest. It was great to have "home amenities" while away on vacation. We will return to Jon's house when we are next in Durango.
