The Space

Looking for a unique San Francisco (email hidden) for a special occasion.
We (email hidden), wonderful garden as well as private Jacuzzi bathtub made for two with a hand held shower. We have a roof deck overlooking SF. For breakfast you will have a choice of coffee or tea, fresh fruit, plain Greek yogurt and a variety of cereals, including a custom blend granola. Breakfast is self-serve and can be eaten at anytime of the day (or evening) if you prefer.

We are two women with a 4 pound, 16 year old poodle (who does not shed). We play all kinds of acoustic music on violin, accordion, guitar, piano and bass. We work in Healthcare, both in and out of our home.

We are on a lovely, flat, usually sunny street at the base of Bernal Heights a block from Mission, a vibrant neighborhood with nearby Precita & Dolores Parks, local cafes, a few blocks from the Valencia corridor full of incredible and very busy restaurants, Mission Pie, St Vincent Tavern, Arizmendi Bakery, Bar Tartine, and the best taquerias pretty much anywhere. We honestly believe this is the greatest neighborhood in the city. It's in a sunny micro-climate and bus line is just on the corner, a block from our home and BART is about 4 blocks, as well as being close to Hwy. 101 and 280 entrances.

We are experienced hosts and tour guides, will have maps and many suggestions for your time in the Bay Area. Karen knows the city as good or better than any cab driver in SF.

Your room has a super comfortable queen bed, cable TV, Wi-fi and all the comforts of a home away from home. It is a calm and tasteful home. We supply all towels and linens, we have shampoo and hair dryer, as well as the use of a washer and dryer during your stay (but please just let us know before using it). It is great to do yoga (we have mats) or just hang out up on our private roof deck, which overlooks the city, with great views of bay bridge.
We offer off street parking for one car. (May be tandem at times)

Please let us know a little bit about yourself as well. Let us know your reason for visiting SF, as well as a photo of yourself in your profile page along with who you will be traveling with. If you are interested and/or have questions about our rental, please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

Guest Access

We can accommodate 2 people in the queen bed, and have two amazing couches in the living room if you have additional guests for a small additional fee of $60 per night per couch.

Interaction with Guests

You'll have a memorable and unique experience staying with us…. we promise MUCH more fun than if you were in your own private place!!
You are guaranteed a good time!

  • We stayed one week at Delilah’s apartment and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The apartment is very welcoming, our room and bed were comfortable (we both slept soundly throughout the week), and the jacuzzi was a wonderful luxury. The parking behind the apartment was very convenient and secure. Delilah is a wonderful warm host and we felt like we’d known her for years; it was like visiting a favorite cousin we hadn’t seen in a while. Also, she makes the best gourmet granola mix in the world, and first-rate coffee. The neighborhood is full of good cafes, jazz bars, and ethnic restaurants within walking distance of Delilah’s apartment, and we couldn’t have exhausted the selection if we had stayed there a whole month. The wi-fi was fast, and the kitchen table was a very convenient and serviceable work space for doing computer work. The living room is filled with comfortable couches and chairs, and if we had wanted to have quiet evenings to stay home and read, it would have been ideal. However, we were having too much fun going around the city to spend evenings in the apartment. Delilah’s place is also very conveniently located for BART access. We would love to make a return visit, and we’d recommend Delilah’s apartment to everyone. If we visit again, I’ll look forward to meeting Karen, who was out of town for the whole week of our visit.

  • We had a great time with Delilah and Karen! We stayed here for 3 days in June and couldn't have asked for more: they are very warm-hearted and helpful hosts. My girlfriend plays violin and on our first evening, they were already playing songs together and discussion about music etc., so much fun!

We loved the creative decor in their apartment, which seems to be full of interesting things and gems. Our room had beautiful details and the bed was very comfortable. Do not miss sunny afternoon on their roof deck, which has amazing views to town! It was easy to navigate to town from here, as the public transport runs nearby. We rented a car on our last day and off-street parking was arranged, which was really nice.

Oh, and Delilah's homemade breakfast granolas were beyond delicious! We would definitely recommend their place to all visitors and would be happy to return on our next trip to SF!

  • My husband I loved our stay here. Delilah and Karen treated us very warmly and really knew how to make us feel at home. Delilah was very communicative about the house and showed us everything we needed to know. The comfy bed, Ice water, chocolates and snacks in the room were a plus, but the best part is the private bathroom with a luxurious jacuzzi tub. Great breakfast, great people, great location and therefore highly recommended.

  • Karen and Delilah are impeccable hosts. They were flexible in accommodating our late arrival time and made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. Delilah particularly went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the breakfast options (homemade granola and fresh fruit with yogurt!) and comfortable for the duration of our stay.

Their home is exactly as described, with instruments, antiques, odds and ends around every corner. The jacuzzi bath makes this a very unique place to stay!

As we remarked one morning after getting directions from our hosts, "Karen is better than (website hidden)," when trying to navigate the city - there were several times when her advice saved us time with the transit system. Karen and Delilah were more than happy to offer travel suggestions - they know the best eateries, sights and entertainments in San Francisco!

We were lucky enough to participate in a homemade Mexican food and music night. Karen and Delilah are wonderful musicians and lovely spirits. We would recommend their home to any visitors to San Francisco!

  • My experience was delightful. The location was nearby many varied coffee shops and restaurants as well as interesting locales. The accommodations were peerless! The owners were most helpful. The breakfast was delicious, healthy as well as plentiful. There seems to be no room for improvement.

  • It was such a delight to stay with Delilah and Karen. Their home is incredibly cozy and comfortable, and they are such warm and generous hosts. Every detail of my stay was so thoughtful, and the location is perfect for exploring the city. With fresh flowers, vibrant decor, and an easy atmosphere, it felt like a home away from home.

  • Delilah was very welcoming and helpful. Her home is located a short walk to many restaurants, bars and shops. The bed was very comfy, there were many breakfast options and the roof top view was spectacular. She knows the area very well and can help you with directions and recommendations. Private parking is included free of charge with the package, which is a must because street parking would have been very tedious. Delilah and Karen were very friendly, hospitable hosts!

  • Picture walking into a living spread of Architectural Digest, or Better Homes and Gardens. The picture's on the web site can't capture the joy you will feeling walking to their home. Delilah, Karen and little Grizzly made me feel at home. So much so that I had childhood dreams of the house I lived in over 30 years ago.

Although I didn't get to take advantage if the beautiful jacuzzi because of time. I did have the opportunity to sit and enjoy their loved garden.

Hospitality they went above and beyond, making sure I had breakfast and that I knew how to navigate the city.

If you love music, hiking, gardening, and a host of other topics to connect with these two awesome ladies, then this is the place to hang your hat and kick up your heals.

If I ever get back there I'd stay with them again.

  • The three day stay with Delilah and Karen is arguably the best travel I ever have. The real incredible thing is that I was in fact in SF for business rather than tourism. I found their listing from Airbnb's HQ wishlist and feel extremely lucky that I picked them.

In this highly disposable time, Delilah and Karen's condo is like an antique shop. There must be millions of items they collected along the way, including instruments, mountains of CDs and books, walls full of beautiful photo and posters among all kinds of interesting stuff. I was not able to find any single of them that is not an delicate art of work. The rooms are even better than in the photo. It feel like a museum very vivid lives.

Delilah and Karen are swell musicians. They often play American root music when I was there and brought me to a nice concert in Berkeley at one night. Delilah and Karen are super interesting people and We had wonderful time talking and sharing the life experience and music. They also cooked very nice meal.

With all the inspiring they gave me, I think just hanging out with them worth the whole trip from China. I'm sorry if this sounds like commercial, but they are just as wonderful as commercial! I'll give them ten stars if Airbnb let me.

I can't recommend Delilah more if you want to stay in SF and have fun with local people or root music. I think that's what travel should be like.

  • Delilah & Karen were the perfect hosts. Their home is comfortable and beautiful and they made me feel welcome immediately. I arrived in San Francisco early and they were incredibly accommodating by helping me make arrangements for my luggage and had several suggestions for where I could enjoy the afternoon before they were home.

The room (and the entire house) are beautifully decorated, rich with history: photographs, musical instruments, event posters, and all kinds of art - all of which the hosts are at the ready to provide stories behind each one.

As other reviewers have mentioned, these beautiful people are also beautiful musicians. I had a busy schedule, but Karen & Delilah made sure to get a music night in for me! (Lucky, lucky me!) I am just learning to play the guitar myself, so they handed me a guitar and picked out songs that had chords I knew and they helped me play along!

The first day I arrived I mentioned that I was a Zumba fanatic and the next day they provided passes for their gym and the schedule of Zumba classes included! Delilah even joined me for one of the classes. (Which were fantastic, by the way.)

Practically speaking, a delicious breakfast was provided each day and the private guest bathroom is huge and comfortable. The space is immaculately clean and the neighborhood is perfect. Easy access to public transportation, and plenty to explore right from the doorstep. I felt right at home from the moment I walked through the door.

In the description of their space they mentioned it would be more fun to stay with them then to get a place of your own and that was spot on. I had a great time and wish I could have spent more time with them! I look forward to my next visit! I loved my time there and feel very lucky to now know these two incredible people.

My partner Karen and I have lived in this beautiful home for over 12 years. We love (and play) music, cooking, gardening, movies, animals, exercising and socializing and we promise to make your stay in SF much more fun and memorable than if you stay in your own private place (read on). We work in health care and due to work obligations, we tend to be early risers and are gone much of the time. We will help you as much as possible with directions and suggestions, pamphlets, maps, etc. We're very easy going and we hope you'll find our home very comfortable and enjoyable.
