The Space

Our home is located in a small upscale neighborhood, just a couple miles from downtown Freeport, the Amtrak train, LL Bean and all the shopping outlets. It's a beautiful area amid the rolling farms and fields that distinguish Freeport's beautiful landscape. We offer guest(s) a private second floor suite with a sitting area and full bath. There is plenty of room for yoga and/or shopping bags. The space can easily accommodate up to 4 people - 2 on a fabulous new queen bed and 2 on a fabulous new double high queen blow up. The suite is apprx 500 sq. ft with big windows, skylights, AC, heat, bamboo flooring and WIFI. But the things you will remember best besides the sheer comfort, will be the stillness and quiet.

There is a well equipped kitchen downstairs, lovely great room with fireplace and wood stove. Enjoy the outdoor fire pit and outdoor dining on the deck. From our door there are great hiking trails, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, bocci, ping pong, you get the picture - lots of fun outdoor stuff to do and yet so close to town.

We offer sailing charters or day excursions available aboard "Acceptance" a Catalina 25 moored in South Freeport Harbor - less than 10 minutes away.

Freeport is 15 minute north of Portland and within 30 minutes of the Jetport (PWM).

  • We stayed with Deena while participating in the PineLand Running festival. Deena's home was a perfect place to stay while exploring and shopping in Freeport a shirt distance from Deena's place. Our accommodations were excellent with a large comfortable room and equally large private bath.

  • Stayed at Deenas place to visit the freeport area! It was a great experience. First off their place is wonderful and they are very accommodating hosts with lots of recommendations and information about the area. Second it is a very easy drive to freeport to enjoy the great shopping and restaurants in the area. I would recommend staying here to anyone interested doing anything in the freeport area. Additionally Portland is a quick drive away.
Thanks for sharing your place Deena and Patrick

  • Our stay with Deena and Patrick was just as we wanted, quiet and safe. The location is excellent, very close to downtown Freeport. The room is spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable. They were great hosts, we woke up to freshly baked muffins and when we asked about local activities they were quick to suggest many things to do in surrounding areas. We would definitely stay again!

  • Staying at Deena and Patrick's home was a lovely experience. They are very open and friendly people, with lots of ideas about things to do in the area and the whole state of Maine. Deena lay out the perfect spread for breakfast, which we were free to assemble as liked, and both were happy to take time to go over maps and suggest some wonderful activities (hiking, beaches, music). The room itself was super comfy with a large lavish bathroom and lovely tilty ceilings. You definitely need a car to stay there, but it's only a few minutes from the house to the center of Freeport and highways beyond.

Friendly, outgoing, active and fun! I love to cook, create all kinds of things and care for my loved ones. When I travel I look for clean and comfortable. My bed is soooo important to me because I want a good nights sleep. It doesn't have to be too fancy, not that I mind the Four Seasons, I just want to lie down in the bed and think - WOW this is great! I'm a proud mom of two fabulous young women, one in Boston and one in NYC. Our dog Toby is 12 now and he is the biggest best lover muffin puppy on the planet. Pappy and I are both world travelers who have moved dozens of times around the country. He is a native of Maine and I was born in NYC. We feel Freeport offers us so much. We're fortunate to have a private, sunny and quiet home, some of the best sailing in the world, all kinds of gorgeous places to play outside from skiing, to kayaking, to hiking, swimming to many to list. There are fantastic free outdoor concerts hosted by LL Bean that will blow you away, terrific stage shows, an awesome new movie theatre with lots of screens, 3D movies, cushy seats and great popcorn. I'm a bit of a health foodie. Having owned award winning restaurants, you might might say I'm particular about our food. The local food scene here is phenomenal. As for dining out etc., there are so many wonderful local restaurants to choose from from Italian, Thai, Greek, BBQ, Seafood to brew pubs, a tea house, Starbucks or the local fav - Coffee by Design. There is definitely something for everyone. Plus Portland, considered one of the best Foodie Cities in the country is only 15 minutes south. My beer snob partner claims that Maine Beer Company is the holy grail of Maine brewers. They just opened up their new brewery with a tasting room in Freeport. If Pappy's ever missing, I know where to find him.
