*Recently due to a change of airbnb website in Feb 2014, I found the price calculation often shows wrong price (It doesn't reflect customized setting that a host did) After we talked details and then I will check it and adjust it properly with an attached offer.
Please be noted that airbnb website shows sometime average monthly price instead of total price, so please don't misunderstand it.

*** PRICE and discount opportunities ****
This is a kind of promotional price, it is already best price, for limited time only.
Those who asks discount for less than3 weeks stay, please find another one.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to answer your discount request.
I hope you can find a better place to stay and enjoy your travel in NY.
And to those who stay long term, i already put weekly and monthly price, although it depends on the season, when you put long term in your inquiry, Air BnB system automatically calculate and apply these discount rate.
Before jump to ask me for discount, please recognize how much you have already got discount and please take it into your consideration too.
If possible, please tell me what can you do for it, instead of getting discount.
These are opportunities that you might be applied.
- Your schedule and your needs are very clear and ready to make up your mind, and you can make decision quickly, (12-24 hours) after i give pre- approve or special offer to you.
(Note: Even i give you special offer, if won't be effective forever. If you are not ready to make a decision, i might accept another booking, so after you asked other question and ready to choose, then ask me discount opportunity.
- Such as no need help to bring your luggage by yourself when you arrive and walk up apartment.
- You can do early check out such as 9 am
- You can wait somewhere and can do late check-in such as after 6pm
- Your schedule perfectly fit the vacancy of the room, that means you can come here in same day the previous guest will check-out.
- You can promise me never to cancel your booking in any situation.
- You can book not in the last minutes, 2-3 weeks in advance.
- You have been to NY many times before and you do not need to be cared so much as First-time NY visitor.
- Especially for international guest from outside of the U.S., If you can promise me that you have the U.S. phone (including US prepaid phone) while you stay my place, that would be fine. When we need, we can contact each other easily without making international call to your cell.
I would like you to know the fact that we need to make international call to contact each other even you are in the U.S. unless you do not have the US phone. That can be cost for both our host side and yourself.
Let's find a win-win solution for both of us.
Otherwise, in order to give you the feeling of " got discount a lot", i need to eliminate monthly and weekly price and tell you discount rate each by each after i get inquiry, but in essence, there is totally no difference. Nonsense process. Let's save our time!
****** BATHROOM will be shared with others ****
Several times, I had the question whether this room has private bathroom or not,
NO way! In such a price, It is impossible to have room with a private, non- shared bath room. Remember here is NY and your price is b&b price.
***** Does B&B style work with you?
Don't you have expectation too much?*******
Please remember, Here is NY and this is BnB style sharing, not Hotel! : )
I wish i could help you whenever you need, however, since I am working at daytime, It is impossible to be in apartment 24h/7 days for you.
Especially for check in, there is no body available at home for 24 hours. If your arrival time at airport is not evening or afternoon, it will be a little tough, sometime i have to come this apartment by taxi and it might cause me to ask you extra charge ($10-20)for special check-in. It is also same as mid night check in too( ex arrival at airport after 9pm).
If you are not independent type and you expect some kind of hotel like service, it might be better to stay at real-hotel so that you can ask concierge at anytime and have private bath in stead of staying at reasonable price.
Not only check the price, but please make it sure whether such a B and B style works for you or not!
I will do what i can do for you, however, too much expectation tend to result in disappointment, if you stay is sad, it makes me sad too. : )
So, in advance, I am telling you frankly.
Thank you for your reading, if you have any question, please ask me!
++about security deposit.++
If your stay is longer than 3 weeks, i might ask you another security deposit when you arrive(of course it is refundable and tell you in advance, don't worry ) .
But basically i will ask Air to handle it.
This is the way how Air handle it.
How does Airbnb handle security deposits?
For safety purposes Airbnb handles security deposits through the site. Airbnb authorizes the guest's credit card for the security deposit amount 24 hours prior to check-in, however, the card is not actually charged. The security deposit is held until 48 hours after checkout unless Airbnb is notified by the host. If no damages are reported, the hold will automatically be released. If damages are reported then Airbnb will mediate between guest and host to make sure both parties are represented fairly.
I hope your travel in NY will be fine!

Staying in Sunnyside with Lucy was really amazing. She is very clear about her house rules, which honestly are not hard to follow and are just common sense things. The hardest rule to follow I found was... well, nothing really. It was that simple! The apartment was impeccably clean and tidy, thanks to her rules and general cleanliness. Everything looks exactly like the pictures, except some kitchen appliances are in different places now. Cooking was easy as she has everything you need to cook anything, and Lucy makes it clear where you can put your food so there is no confusion. She also taught me how to cook all kinds of Japanese foods (I also speak Japanese, so it makes communication fun!). There is no common space other than the kitchen, which already is pretty small, but Lucy allows you to eat in your room. Communicating with Lucy is very easy, if she feels uncomfortable about something, she will talk to you about it immediately to resolve any conflict. I never had any hard feelings towards her because she is very genuine. 2.5 block walk to the 7 train, no problem, even in snow and rain. A 24 hour grocery & pharmacy are also RIGHT across from the station. Notes and tips: - The downstairs tenants have two dogs that LOVE to bark all day (though they never bark during sleeping hours). - The downstairs tenant also likes to sometimes play his nice TV stereo system, the bass can get really intense. The upside is he never plays later than 10:30pm, except for one Saturday night he was watching a movie until 2am. If such a thing happens, Lucy knows those tenants and is okay asking them to turn it down if it goes on THAT late. - The radiator in the green room is large, as it was originally meant for the living room, so it gets VERY hot very quickly. I learned to keep the radiator valve closed and only crack it open for 10 minutes to get the room warm. If not, you'll have to open the windows from the intense dry heat! ESPECIALLY do not sleep with the radiator open or your skin and throat will become the Sahara when you wake up. - The internet can to go out at least once or twice a week, but that is entirely the fault of Time Warner. Usually resetting the Wifi router fixes the issue. - Shower has no problem getting hot... but for me personally it is sometimes either TOO HOT or lukewarm. Gotta choose! I'm a pretty light sleeper, but I find myself getting good rest every night despite coming from the quiet Atlanta suburbs and having all these strange city noises. Even if you are a heavy sleeper, I recommend bringing ear plugs just in case! Overall for my very first big city experience and living alone away from home, this was PERFECT. Far enough from Manhattan to be comfortable, close enough to be...
I loved my stay in the Green Room. It is cozy and comfortable with lot of space to store your clothes, specially if you plan to stay in NY for a few months. What's more, the room is very quiet (perfect if you are a light sleeper!) And warm during winter. The apartment feels like home! It's very tidy and well organized, if you enjoy cooking you will find everything you need in the cozy kitchen.I loved food sharing and chatting with Lucy so many times!Another advantage of this apartment is the Rules: they are very helpful to create a nice atmosphere at home and if you agree with them you will find for sure nice and selected guests with your same views!Furthermore the apartment is well located: Sunnyside neighborhood is very quiet and offers a wide range of groceries and convenience stores and convenient international restaurants.Manhattan is very close, just 20min by 7 train!I will definitely choose Lucy for my next stay in NY and I strongly encourage you to do the same!
Lucy is really a wonderful host, and I enjoyed her company very much. She is strict concerning the house rules, but I didn't find them unreasonable. The neighborhood was nice as well, I didn't feel unsafe at all. The only minus is that to some destinations in Manhattan the commute is a bit too far, but still - absolutely doable. It's not a luxury apartment, but considering the price it was well worth the money. I would gladly stay at Lucy's place again!
It was very nice to stay at Lucy's house! Lucy is a warm and hospitable lady! She always tries to give me much advice and help as she can, and willing to share many things in her house. It's a clean and comfortable place, you can always feel sun shine and air. The neighborhood is safe and convenient! There are 3 big supermarkets and many delis, you can always find the best deal there! Transportation is also convenient too! You can get into the town in 15 mins just jump on 7 train! Five stars experience at Lucy's house!! Enjoy your trip :)
Lucy was a wonderful host. Her apartment is cheery, clean and organized. I highly recommend her rooms. Walk to 7 train is about 10 minutes. Lots of restaurants and decent grocery stores in the neighborhood, and a laundromat next door. I stayed here very happily for about six weeks. It was great!
I really enjoyed my stay at Lucy’s. I found her to be extremely helpful in planning my initial arrive into New York, from how to get to the city from the airport – to finding my way to her place. The apartment is very accessible to Manhattan and the nearest subway is about a 5-8 minute walk. My room was spacious, clean and quiet. Some tasty places to eat nearby and a really well stocked grocery store a couple of blocks away. I would recommend to other travelling to the city. Lucy is a very friendly person and it was great to meet her!
I thoroughly enjoyed my 2month stay with Lucy!
I stayed in the Green Room which was comfortable with ample storage and upon arrival everything looked as it did in the pictures.
I really liked Sunnyside, it is a friendly and safe neighborhood which is very convenient for Manhattan on the 7line which is only a 7 minute walk away.
Lucy is a very gracious and considerate host who ensures that her guests are comfortable and happy in their stay, she provided me with many tips for New York life and was always available to answer any questions I had. Even during the hurricane Lucy made sure that we were all comfortable and prepared for the storm, and we were all grateful in her providing a safe haven in such a unpredictable time.
The apartment rules work well to ensure that all guests have a pleasant stay and I loved the organization that Lucy maintained. I really enjoyed meeting all the other guests and we would often eat together and chat about our days events.
I was sad to leave but would definitely return! Thanks Lucy!
I stayed in NYC for a week and it was a fabulous holiday, and my experience with Airbnb contributed
to this a lot. It was my first time with air bnb, and understandably I went to it not without a small feeling
of apprehension. I didn't know what to wait for, we all know how advertisement works and when you
actually arrive at the place you have to live there for predetermined period of time even if the room wasn't as good as it sounded in an ad. . But once there all
my fears were put to rest. Lucy is a wonderful host, helped me a lot. A little about the appartment. It is
on the fifth floor with very narrow staircase. I am pretty fit, so it wasnt any trouble for me. Kitchen has
everything you need for comfort: stove, fridge, many of cupboards and space in it to put your things. I
didn't cook, who cooks on vacation anyway?:) But the stove looked very clean and spacey. Bathroom was
clean and well kept, that was my main concern. The green room was cute, ac was there too. Commuting
to the center of Manhattan was very easy, Times Square is the last stop for subway, my day in New York began and
ended there. Would I chose Lucy's apartment again if I again to visit NYC. Yes, definitely.
I stayed with Lucy for 3 weeks this summer and had the best time. Lucy herself is lovely and very considerate.
Her home is very comfortable, clean and organized.
If you're commuting to Manhattan like I was, it's an ideal location as the 7 train takes only 20 minutes to get to Times Square Station.
As I was in New York alone, and being only 18, I was apprehensive with regards to my personal safety, however, as the neighbourhood is very famly-orientated and everyone there was very friendly, I felt very comfortable.
I did sometimes find that the neighbours could be quite noisy, particularly late at night, and so if you are a light sleeper, you may want to take this into consideration.
All-in-all, I had a lovely stay and hope to return next year. Thank you, Lucy!
Lucy was an amazing host. She is very attentive to all of your needs, very informative and not to mention friendly. The 5 days I was there was well spent. Her apartment is very well kept, newly renovated and clean! . The apartment is located not too far from the city so the location was very convenient, traveling to Manhattan back and forth was no problem for me. I would definitely recommend Lucy as a host to anyone looking for a place to stay for a reasonable price. 5/5 stars!
