Getting around

Walk or bike ride to Mooloolaba, Sunshine Plaza, Cotton Tree. Easy access to supermarkets, newsagents, bottle shops and plethora of restaurants.

Bus stop to/from Brisbane City 300 metres and bus stop to/from Sunshine Coast Airport (transfer at Sunshine Plaza) 50 metres.

Public transport is within 50 metres of the apartment - catch the 'Translink' bus 600/610 to Sunshine Plaza, Mooloolaba, Noosa (transfer at Plaza), Caloundra, Kawana, Nambour train station (transfer at Plaza) and Cotton Tree. Or catch the 615 from the stop 300 metres away to Landsborough Station and go direct to Brisbane on the train.

You can borrow an Adult Translink 'Go Card' to get discounted transport - I ask that you just leave the same amount on the card for the next guest. [If you are also travelling around Brisbane and/or Gold Coast it probably worth purchasing your own as it is the same card. Alternatively, you could consider the SEEQ card: 3-5 days unlimited across the network (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast) and includes two Airtrain journeys (normally $16 each way)]

If coming from Sunshine Coast (aka Maroochydore) airport a taxi costs around $35. You can also catch Translink Sun bus - change at Sunshine Plaza.

If coming from Brisbane airport best to catch the door to door airport shuttle (Col's Shuttle) maximum price $45 per person (cheaper with additional passengers).

Greyhound bus stop 500m away - services to and from Brisbane, Byron Bay, Harvey Bay and Cairns.

Translink services - Train and sun bus from Brisbane, Gold Coast and gympie. I recommend that if you come for the south (e.g Brisbane) don't take translink services as they are very slow and take around 3.5 hours (2 hours longer than driving and 1.5 hours longer than private buses).

International travellers can also borrow the prepaid Telstra phone and SIM to make cheap local calls and when you recharge with $30 or more get calls to your home country (landline or mobile). For example, $30 gives you a $250 cap - so use that to call within in Australia or overseas. Free calls to standard Australian numbers (mobiles or landlines) from 6pm - 6am.

Always happy to give advice on best ways to get to and from Sunshine Coast - I grew up on the Coast but lived around the world so know the importance of local knowledge!

Check In
  • Had a great four nights here.the location was fantastic, just across the road from a beautiful beach. It's near shops restaurants and coffee shops.
The flat has everything you could possibly need including a washer and the internet - so much appreciated when you are travelling for long period like ourselves.
Ange had left us lots of useful information on places to go and where to eat and replied promptly to us regarding availability.
    Good value for money.

  • Great location and very central. Really enjoyed this property.

  • Firstly, Ange replied to our enquiry within a couple of minutes. We had lots and lots of questions and she happily answered them all with similar promptness.
We spend 4 relaxing nights in Maroochydore, and we will stay here again if we pass through. Fingers crossed!
The apartment really is only 2 minutes from the beach, and also 2 mins from the bus stop if you arrive that way. If you can't quite make it to the sea, the pool in the complex is good, and during our stay we were the only people in it, very quiet indeed.
The place itself was clean, spacious, and welcoming. Ange had left a myriad of tourist info for us on the table, GoCards for the buses and some vouchers for local shops.
Everything you might need in the kitchen was there, and the fancy (for us anyway!) coffee machine went down a treat.
Thanks Ange, you will hear from us again if we're anywhere nearby.

  • Ange has been a wonderful host with more than sufficient information of the area. Instructions were clear and checkin and checkout were hasslefree. Location was great with a quiet beach within 5 mins walk!

  • Ange was a great host---quick to answer and very accommodating. The apartment was clean and well located. Ange left coupons and local info for us on the table. I highly recommend a stay in this cozy apartment.

  • What an absolutely fantastic place. A stone-throw from the beach Ange's apartment is the beach lifestyle come through. Loved it.

    January 2014
  • This is the second time my friend and I stayed at Ange's unit.

Ange is an amazing host and has a great little unit right across the beach.

She is really helpful and makes booking super fast and easy.

Thank you again Ange, how does it get even better?! :)

  • What could you wish more than your own, private apartment? Ange was a great host, although she was not present. Communication was therefore even more important and was really absolutely perfect! Ange prepared the apartment perfectly for my arrival, left many useful printouts and tourist information an the table. She was also really fast on answering questions about the must sees in the region. The apartment itself is just perfect. Spacious, clean, a great balcony to enjoy sunset, loads of books and DVDs - just everything you could need. There's also a pool available which I did not use - can't make any comment an that (however, it looked nice). Location is great, just a few meters from the beach, a short drive or even walk to Maroochydore and Mooloolaba. It's also perfectly set to explore the sunshine coast and the hinterland. I had a fantastic time and just can advise you: go there, you won't regret it!

  • Had a great time in our stay at 12 maroubra st, maroochydor.
Its nice to have the entire place! Its clean and homey. Internet, TV dvd player, lots of good books to read if you have the time.
Ange wasn't there but prepared everything for us before our arrival with a key in a lock box at the door which she changes with each guests. Walking distance to a great swimming beach and lots of places to eat and a bar down the street thats open till 3am and plays live music.
Great price for a great location plus added privacy of having the whole apt to your self! Great spot. Highly recommend. I love Airbnb!

  • My husband and I were visiting from NZ. We loved our stay - beautiful homely apartment that was super clean! Loved the location, walking distance to beach and cafés. We felt so welcome and at home. Thanks Ange for the hospitality even though you weren't present, we loved the tips on where to eat and activities to do! Once again thank you :-)

Hi, I am a Sunshine Coast local who loves to travel the world and enjoy all the beautiful things in life - like our wonderful beaches. I work in Brisbane and relax on the Coast on the weekends. I have travelled and worked in the busiest cities and most remote parts so know the importance of local knowledge and the extra things to help out.
