Airton is a peaceful village set in the heart of Malhamdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a popular village store/farm shop and cafe which sells a good selection of basic provisions and local produce. Many of our guests have commented favourably on it.
A public footpath leads through the mill's wetland garden and the Pennine Way, 100m walk from the apartment, can be seen from the main rooms. There is a never-ending variety of walks through the natural beauty of 'Calendar Girls' countryside. The area is popular with cyclists, walkers, horse-riders and climbers. You can ramble along the riverside to Malham's stunning cove, limestone pavement and tranquil tarn. During the summer months, there are numerous rural shows and music and art festivals. Museums, steam trains, ice-cream farm, falconry centre - the variety of activities ensures there will never be a dull moment, whatever the weather.
There is a Dales bus service to Skipton with its railway and bus stations. Gargrave railway station is 4 miles from Airton. The market towns of Skipton and Settle are both 15-20 minutes drive. Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford are all approximately an hour's drive.

The apartment was as luxurious as described and provided us with the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. The situation on the Pennine Way enabled us to do several circular walks and go up to the famous Malham limestone pavement. The strong WiFi meant we were well connected during our stay and the well equipped kitchen was ideal for self catering. A large comfortable bed and deep hot bath were just what was needed after a day out walking, highly recommended. Thank you for a great stay.
Enjoyed a lovely four night stay here in this spacious, luxurious but cosy apartment. Jesca made the place look very welcoming with fresh flowers and it was spotlessly clean. It was also well equipped with everything from dvds and games to tupperware boxes for picnics, as well as all the mod cons as expected. Slept brilliantly on the very comfortable mattresses - very peaceful too thanks to the thick walls.
The apartment is in a lovely setting overlooking the river with plenty of walks nearby. Malham is only a 5 min drive up the road and is a great starting point for walks (the 4 mile one that takes in Janet's Foss and Malham Cove is spectacular - even on a rainy day!)
If you're planning a visit to the area we'd thoroughly recommend staying at this apartment.
Excellent value for a well finished apartment. The high quality of the furniture, fixtures and fittings, coupled with the heightened attention to detail with regard to comfortable homely touches, made for a very comfortable stay. There are beautiful views from the windows and nice places to walk a stones throw from the doorstep. Highly recommended :)

The apartment was perfect for our needs, just as described and shown on airbnb site and with lots of vases of fresh flowers, which was a lovely touch. Light and comfy with lovely beds (and pillows!) and great sized and equipped kitchen/bathrooms. Saw dippers on the river's edge from the window and had a fantastic walk to Malham Cove and Goredale Scar. Airton is a really pretty village and the farmshop is well provisioned. Jesca's communications were speedy and welcoming. Hope we can return one day to this lovely part of the world.
Lovely apartment, very well maintained and furnished. Really good locations for walks and viewing the local area. A great bath and piano!
Fantastic appartment, nice modern equipped kitchen, comfy beds, fantastic shower and spacious living area, all in a stunning area of the dales. The view of the river from the window was so nice. We had a lovely relaxing stay and enjoyed walking over the fields to the farm shop which had a great cafe attached to it. We hope to visit again soon - thank you Jesca!

I enjoy walking and climbing. Our Dales cottage is the ideal base for our family to pursue our hobbies. Just a couple of miles from one of our favourite walks, the scramble up the waterfall at Gordale Scar, and within walking distance of a pub that serves good Yorkshire fare, it has everything we need. There is a selection of DVDs, books and games for you to enjoy and loads of information about things to do in the area to enable you to get the most from your visit.
We also have a townhouse in Skipton for those who prefer being based in a bustling market town while still enjoying the tranquility of the Dales on their doorstep
