The Space

Walk to the Sunset Junction from this large rebuilt craftsman house. Bedroom is on 2nd floor with a full size bed. French doors lead to a private balcony facing East. Lots of sunlight. Shared bathroom is a beautifully designed custom bathroom, with a very large shower next to a two person tub with jets. There is also is an additional powder room (1/2 bath) downstairs.

Large modern kitchen, great space to cook or just hang out in, with french doors that lead to another huge balcony/deck where you can, BBQ, or just relax and have a cocktail before heading out into Silver Lake, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Echo Park for the nightlife, the food, and the music!
I do stock the kitchen with coffee, tea, bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels/toast, almond/soy/coconut/and cow's milk, and I'll pick up seasonal fruit at the market and put it out on the counter for my guests to help themselves.

Guest Access

Full access to Kitchen, Full bath, plus an additional half bathroom off the kitchen, Balcony off kitchen, and lounge/patio in the front of the house.

Interaction with Guests

Depends on each situation. Sometimes we're all very social, and other times guests just want to relax and enjoy their privacy.

The Neighborhood

We are walking distance from the Sunset Junction that features such destinations as Cafe Intelligentsia, Stella, Bulan Vegan Thai, Cafe Flore, Nature Well, 4100 bar, the LA Eagle. Akbar, El Cid, Cliffs Edge. Every Saturday and Wednesday, there is the farmers market, also walking distance.

Getting around

Walk to the Junction where you can pick buses that run along Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. The metro red line is about a 10 minute walk or three bus stops.

Other Things to Note

If you rent a car, I have parking passes that you hang on your rear view mirror. If I run out of passes, I can valet park cars on the property as well.

  • My stay with Chris was really great. Nicely furnished and beautiful house, very conveniently located to do whatever you could possibly want to do. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Chris and Frank were very welcoming hosts. Chris was in flight & Frank made sure we were well taken care of. Spoke to both over the phone after our arrival and it felt like I was talking to friends. Same as when we arrived. Coffee, bagel, toast in a.m. a bonus. Beautiful home, neighborhood & overall experience.

  • The room was really comfortable with a balcony overlooking the neighborhood. Chris's home is within walking distance to Sunset Junction which has a lot of cool restaurants and boutique stores. I would absolutely recommend this Bnb to my friends.

  • Chris has the best place in town. His house beyond beautiful. Silverlake is an amazing neighborhood and his place is just one block away from everything. At the same time, he is such an amazing, kind and fun host to have. I was so lucky to find him.

  • Chris is the perfekt host, the best I've experience do far. Always helpful, easy to talk to and full of great information. I was supposed to stay 3 nights, but ended up staying nearly 2 weeks! It was so great staying there! in this cosy three story bungalow, I have stayed in both of the rooms on first floor with each their own private balcony. The bathroom is amazing and I slept really well in the beds. Everything clean and you feel very welcome as soon as you enter the house. Adapters in each room and electrician plugs makes it easy to use international gear. Breakfast available everyday with small treats and more in fridge. Cool area with everything you need in cosy environments and in walking distance, great eating places. Cute cats too. Wished I could have stayed longer and will indeed be back.

  • Chris is an amazing, thoughtful host!

His house is quiet and beautiful and clean, and it is perfectly located so you can enjoy all of Silver Lake and Echo Park. He thinks of everything beforehand so you can relax and enjoy your stay on his lovely treehouse-like balconies. He keeps his refrigerator stocked with food for quick breakfasts so you can grab a piece of fruit or a hard-boiled egg if you need to dash.

I only wish I could have stayed longer!

I will absolutely stay at his place again when I travel to Los Angeles.

  • Chris' place was extremely comfortable and nice. Chris was warm, friendly and very enthusiastic about describing the neighborhood and its history. He gave us good suggestions about what to do around the area. I'd definitely stay here again if I visit the Silver lakes area.

About
ahh yes...description. 40 something, video/graphics producer and editor. I grew up in the New York suburbs and north east New England. I wound up living in New York City for a few years, and eventually moved to California about 22 years ago. I've been living in the Silver Lake and Los Feliz area ever since, and I run the BNB with my partner Frank. I embrace the 'LA' lifestyle, in that I try to be easy going and flexible, and do take advantage of the local delights. (Mountains, deserts, and the Pacific Ocean.) When I'm traveling, sometimes I'm looking for a peaceful natural retreat, other times looking for a fun city that stays open late. It's amazing how many interesting and really cool people I've met through airbnb.com and I'm very happy I can be a host and will continue to do so. Cheers!
