Interaction with Guests
Depends on each situation. Sometimes we're all very social, and other times guests just want to relax and enjoy their privacy.
We are walking distance from the Sunset Junction that features such destinations as Cafe Intelligentsia, Stella, Bulan Vegan Thai, Cafe Flore, Nature Well, 4100 bar, the LA Eagle. Akbar, El Cid, Cliffs Edge. Every Saturday and Wednesday, there is the farmers market, also walking distance.
Walk to the Junction where you can pick buses that run along Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. The metro red line is about a 10 minute walk or three bus stops.
Other Things to Note
Street parking is available in front or behind the house. (Always read signs and rules when parking your car)
Pretty relaxed here. We keep the noise low on the weeknights from 11pm till 8am.
Sometimes share a drink with the guests before heading out for a night on the town.
Staying at Sunset junction, “big room views” was our first experience with Airbnb. It was very pleasant. My husband and I stay often in LA for various functions and we have always stayed in hotels. We decided to try Airbnb as our kids use it frequently. We thought it would be fun to try a new area of LA instead of downtown. Our BnB was clean, airy, quiet and had a great view. The bed was very comfortable. We were met at the door by the host who welcomed us. We chose this BnB because our host responded to a question I had asked, promptly unlike another I had questioned. We were given suggestions for restaurants and had great meals. 14 min. from the subway and walking distance from the main street of Silverlake. We could ask for nothing more. Thank you, Chris.
Perfect Airbnb experience! Totally chilled out, flexible and friendly. But it's also private, Chris knows exactly what it takes to be a great Airbnb host and his house is fantastic.
It's peaceful, clean and comfy, with everything you need. and it's in an awesome location.
Chris and his partner are great guys, I am booked to stay there next week and plan to make this my home away from home.
Definitely recommend staying here.
Chris was wonderful. His place is like an oasis and I felt incredibly safe and welcome. When I arrived he said to "treat is like a hotel" and that was exactly my experience. Also he stocks the kitchen with breakfast items which was really nice.
We had a great stay at Chris's! The room was spacious, comfortable, and very relaxing, especially with the balcony overlooking the garden and lots of tree exposure. We were made to feel welcome from the second we stepped in the door. The location is unbeatable, within steps to a variety of cafes, bars, and coffee shops. Wish we could've spent more time there. Would love to come back!
Chris and Frank are the BEST hosts! They are so welcoming and knowledgable about LA - I felt at home the moment I walked in. Chris is also a huge music buff! The house is beautiful and cosy - I didn't want to leave. I stayed in the big room upstairs, which is surrounded by green and felt like a lush treehouse. I had to keep reminding myself of the amazing location I was in as it really felt so quiet and peaceful. The shared bathroom is gorgeous and such a treat! The shower is big enough to do yoga in :) You can walk to the Junction in a couple of minutes, where there are heaps of cafes and bars to try out. Chris keeps the fridge stocked with all kinds of delicious brekky goodies which is such a great way to start the morning. 100% recommend staying here and I hope to be back!!
This host was amazing fantastic super kind, helped find me parking. Such a gentleman helped me carry my suitcase. In fact the photos do not even do the house justice, its much much nicer, beautiful balcony over looking graden. very comfortable desk, wonderful bathroom, large with plants, in a very quiet beautiful neighbourhood but walking distance to shops , restaurants. THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN LA. Chris runs it like a professional air bnb. Delious breakfast, with eggs, cereals, even almond milk. He cares about his guests, and this is the best airbnb experience i've had. Trust me stay here..
Chris and his partner were gracious hosts. The bungalow was beautiful, with a large porch and wonderfully designed kitchen. Large palm trees made up the landscape and large windows filled the house with light. My room was spacious and extremely private. Sunset junction is an amazing neighborhood with several sough after restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. I would recommend this property to anyone considering staying in the Silverlake area.

I grew up in the New York suburbs and north east New England. I wound up living in New York City for a few years, and eventually moved to California about 22 years ago. I've been living in the Silver Lake and Los Feliz area ever since, and I run the BNB with my partner Frank.
I embrace the 'LA' lifestyle, in that I try to be easy going and flexible, and do take advantage of the local delights. (Mountains, deserts, and the Pacific Ocean.) When I'm traveling, sometimes I'm looking for a peaceful natural retreat, other times looking for a fun city that stays open late.
It's amazing how many interesting and really cool people I've met through airbnb.com and I'm very happy I can be a host and will continue to do so.
