Walk to the Sunset Junction from this large rebuilt craftsman house. Bedroom is on 2nd floor with a full size bed. French doors lead to a private balcony facing East. Lots of sunlight. Shared bathroom is a beautifully designed custom bathroom, with a very large shower next to a two person tub with jets. There is also is an additional powder room (1/2 bath) downstairs.
Large modern kitchen, great space to cook or just hang out in, with french doors that lead to another huge balcony/deck where you can, BBQ, or just relax and have a cocktail before heading out into Silver Lake, Hollywood, Downtown LA, Echo Park for the nightlife, the food, and the music!
I do stock the kitchen with coffee, tea, bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, bagels/toast, almond/soy/coconut/and cow's milk, and I'll pick up seasonal fruit at the market and put it out on the counter for my guests to help themselves.
Full access to Kitchen, Full bath, plus an additional half bathroom off the kitchen, Balcony off kitchen, and lounge/patio in the front of the house.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on each situation. Sometimes we're all very social, and other times guests just want to relax and enjoy their privacy.
We are walking distance from the Sunset Junction that features such destinations as Cafe Intelligentsia, Stella, Bulan Vegan Thai, Cafe Flore, Nature Well, 4100 bar, the LA Eagle. Akbar, El Cid, Cliffs Edge. Every Saturday and Wednesday, there is the farmers market, also walking distance.
Walk to the Junction where you can pick buses that run along Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard. The metro red line is about a 10 minute walk or three bus stops.
Other Things to Note

Pretty relaxed here. We keep the noise low on the weeknights from 11pm till 8am.
Sometimes share a drink with the guests before heading out for a night on the town.
Perfect Airbnb experience. I've stayed in 5 different places around LA in the last couple of months and this is my favourite. Totally chilled out, flexible and friendly. But it's also private, quiet, and run like an old school BnB. Chris and his partner are great guys, location is awesome, the house is beautiful. I'll be back.
I had a great stay at Chris'. I lived in L.A. for 7 years and it just doesn't get much better than this. He has really streamlined the experience. It's clean, spacious, great location and has everything you need. The bathroom is spectacular. Plenty of parking (that's miraculous in this neighborhood normally). The place was booked full, but I never saw another person. It was just a really nice stay and the room was great.
I was in town for work, so I was not able to get to know Chris but he seems like a really nice guy.
I would definitely stay again and would recommend staying here!
Everything was just perfect about this airbnb. I absolutely enjoyed staying here for three nights. Very mellow atmosphere. I didn't see or hear too much of the other guests around, though. My room had a super comfortable bed and from the private balcony you look into the lush garden. There's even a hot tub in the bathroom, however given the current drought it's perhaps not the wisest idea to actually use it... Chris' place is in a quiet neighborhood but there are lots of cool restaurants and cafes in walking distance around Sunset Junction. It's also a perfect base if you want to explore the city by car (streetparking worked good for me). Chris himself is a gifted host: Not only was everything about my stay perfectly organized (for example: the fridge was stuffed with everything at least I needed for breakfast...). Chris is also a great guy just to chat with. I can fully recommend to stay in his house.
Chris was a wonderful host. The room was fantastic and I enjoyed every minute of my time there. Will definitely be staying here again if it is available.
I was in LA to visit with my niece and staying in Chris' place worked out perfectly. He was very flexible about check-in and offers a beautifully remodeled, comfortable, clean and quiet space with a balcony off the bedroom and a relaxing large deck with dining table adjacent to the kitchen. I enjoyed eating breakfast on the deck while listening to the birds. The neighborhood is close to fun restaurants and shops but still amazingly peaceful.
Great host. Very friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast a plus. The house is very peaceful, surrounded by trees and a walking distance from bars, cafes and shops. I would highly recommend it and will definitely stay again.
My son had a last minute trip to LA. Chris was super responsive & approved our request within an hour. He found the room great and the house Very nice ---- would definitely stay again

I grew up in the New York suburbs and north east New England. I wound up living in New York City for a few years, and eventually moved to California about 22 years ago. I've been living in the Silver Lake and Los Feliz area ever since, and I run the BNB with my partner Frank.
I embrace the 'LA' lifestyle, in that I try to be easy going and flexible, and do take advantage of the local delights. (Mountains, deserts, and the Pacific Ocean.) When I'm traveling, sometimes I'm looking for a peaceful natural retreat, other times looking for a fun city that stays open late.
It's amazing how many interesting and really cool people I've met through airbnb.com and I'm very happy I can be a host and will continue to do so.
