We usually rent this smaller room in our apartment, but we're also renting the whole apartment (including our room, the two bedrooms in total) in the following dates:
Friday November 14th, 2014, to Sunday November 30th, 2014.
Check out the link for the whole apartment here: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/767990
(Two things: 1- If you are beginning to use Airbnb, please fill out your profile with the most information possible, and include a photo of yourself, or we will most likely reject your inquiry. 2- Please read this listing before asking questions, most of the answers we give to people are actually here in detail. Thanks!)
We have a two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, in the northernmost section of Bed-Stuy, close to the border with Williamsburg and Bushwick. The place is 4 blocks away from the Flushing Av. stop in the JMZ lines (about a 5 minute walk, and then a four-stop ride to the Lower East Side in Manhattan), and 2 blocks away from the Flushing Av. stop in the G train (that takes you to South Brooklyn, or Queens, or also combines with the L train to go to Manhattan).
The neighborhood is very mixed and mostly residential, with families and young people. It is a short walk (around 15 min) or two-stop train ride to Williamsburg, where you can find many bars, coffee shops and stores.
The apartment is in the 4th floor (no elevator) of a renovated building. We have a fully equipped kitchen and a dining/living room that you can use. Your room is a mid-small space, that includes a full size double bed (with some empty drawers for your clothes), a shelf and a chair, and also a heater or an air conditioner (depending on the season and time of the year). It has a window with lots of light, and also some closet space. My boyfriend lives with me in our room, your are renting a separate and private room with its own door. We both admin the bookings so you'll be in touch with one of us two.
(As of December 2013 we bought a brand new high quality mattress for the room to make your stay even better).
You are allowed to use all the kitchen tools for cooking and you get some storage room and space in the fridge, so you can make yourself at home. There is one bathroom that we share with you, and there is bedding and towels available so you don't have to bring them. There is also a laundry room in the building's basement, that costs $2 per load for washing, and $2 for drying, (it only takes ¢25 coins and you need to bring your own detergent).
No smoking or illegal drugs are allowed.
We are very laid back, quiet and tidy, which is how we like to keep the place (you need to clean everything in the kitchen right after you have used it, and collaborate with separating your trash from recycling, in designated bins, and be respectful in general). We have rented out the room often to people we know and different contacts, having great experiences throughout.
Omar's place was great - very clean and totally lived up to the photos. It was very laid back, which was perfect for us. Thanks for a great stay.
It was fantastic staying at Omar's place. He had all the amenities we needed. Omar was a great and flexible host that made our stay feel very welcomed.
I was a pleasure staying with Omar and his partner! They are both very nice and friendly people. Communication was easy, and they are available to answer questions about the apartment and the neighborhood. The place is very close walking distance from a subway station. The apartment itself is super clean and neat. Definitely recommended!
Omar and Martin were very calm, friendly, and warm. Such lovely people!
As shown in pictures, each little pieces in communal spaces are so cute. Not a big space, but more than I thought same as shown here.
Some other reviewers say there are nothing around there, could be yes, BUT, actually around Myrtle station (15min walk from the place), there are nice trendy-look bar/club and interesting little flea I could find. Many 24H take-out shops too.
Plus, location in between J,M, and G line is perfect for who wants to explore all Brooklyn areas, and Central Manhattan as well. Ultra easy travel from JFK airport with using station elevators was so good.
Maybe the bed could be small for XL size couple, but enough for single traveller.
I can highly recommend this place who wants to stay in a budget and quality place. I will use this place again if I go next time.
Omar and Martin were gentle and quiet hosts.
The communication with Omar was very good.
The apartment was easy to find. There’s not much around to see, but the place is very good connected to every part of the town.
The flat is very clean and tidy and calm related to the usual noise of the city.
Our room was pretty small, like the rest of the apartment.
A very good place to sleep if you’re out most of the day.
We had an incredible stay at Omar's place. His apartment was clean, tidy and the room was very cozy. We arrived earlier than our check in time but he let us leave our luggages in the living room. Kept our stuff organized (thanks for lining our shoes!) They gave us lots of privacy but they were always available to answer any questions we had. The place is conveniently located close to the G and J line so commuting was not an issue. Would definitely stay at his place again :)
