Soooo romantic! This nostalgic 1 BR/1 bath historic home is privately tucked away behind adobe walls on a quiet street just steps from downtown. Loaded with Santa Fe charm: viga ceilings, a seasonal kiva fireplace, full kitchen & beautiful private patio with a waterfall and koi pond. Walk to the Railyard, Plaza and gallery-filled Canyon Road. Pro-speed wifi and off-street parking keep your stay stress-free. Close to everything, while still quiet & private. Magic!

The space
Casita Bellissima - This beautiful 800 square-foot, one-bedroom, one-bath home is privately tucked away behind adobe walls, near the up and coming Railyard district. Just a few blocks from the Plaza, you will be steps from great dining, shopping and museums (the Georgia O’Keefe museum is just a 10-minute walk from your front door!).  A 15-minute walk in one direction takes you past Santa Fe’s prized Lady of Guadalupe statue to the Railyard District, home to Santa Fe’s wonderful Farmer’s Market, the Railrunner train station and the Violet Crown cinema, cafe and bar. A 15-minute walk in the other direction lands you right on gallery-filled Canyon Road. Plan to do some skiing? You're just a 30 minute drive from the Santa Fe Ski Basin (don't miss the amazing Ten Thousand Waves spa on your way back down the mountain!) And for you culture lovers - you're an easy 10 minute drive to the Opera, and just 3 miles away from Museum Hill. :-)

Boasting elegant and understated classic Santa Fe charm, this property has also been filled with plenty of artistic, Tuscany-inspired details to delight you. It features beamed ceilings, a kiva fireplace and Saltillo tiles in the bathroom and kitchen. The interior is plastered with eco-friendly, chemical-free BioShield clay and raw clay paint, giving the whole casita a wonderfully clean, old-world feel. The French doors in the living room and bedroom open to a covered portal and a small private patio featuring a quaint little waterfall, sheltered by 2 mature pear trees and overflowing with wisteria and local sunflowers. Open the doors on the antique architectural piece mounted on the wall under the portal, and you will find a custom mural of a beautiful Italian sunflower field, by local artist Martha Reich. This enchanting patio fills with sunlight during the summer, and is perfect for dining al fresco, while the kiva fireplace indoors fills the living room with warmth and the smell of burning pinon in the winter.

Fondly known as “Casita Bellissima,” it has been elegantly furnished and impeccably maintained as a fully-licensed short-term rental, with rave reviews, since 2008, and it's ready for you to call your own for the duration of your Santa Fe stay. It is filled with gorgeous, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, and wonderful, eclectic antiques-- wait until you see the old prayer chairs in the dining room, the 1920’s artist bureau in the bedroom, and the custom, down-filled Italian velvet sofa. Belllissima!

AMENITIES:
Professional-speed Wifi, Cable TV in living room and bedroom, Full kitchen, Washer/Dryer, A/C unit, Kiva Fireplace, Vigas & Beams, Off-street Parking, Quiet, private patio with water feature.

Sorry - no pets (I used to allow dogs, but sadly, guests did not abide by basic courtesy and my neighbors complained. Sorry!)

Other things to note
We've done our best to keep the casita chemical free! It's plastered with Bio-shield clay and raw clay paint and we use as many organic products in the house as possible between guests. This casita has been fully-licensed for short term rental with the city of Santa Fe since 2008, so it's in impeccable condition and ready to go for you. We pass our short-term rental safety inspection annually with flying colors, so you are in happy, good, hands! :-)

I offer weekly and monthly discounts, and love longer stays! I ask for a mid-point cleaning by my cleaning team for anyone booking >14 days. This really helps keep the property in tip top shape, even with the most Virgo of guests! :-)

Neighborhood highlights

Local tradition holds that the foundations of the houses in this neighborhood are built from stones hand-carried from the nearby river, and you can feel the history and the care in the walls of this precious casita. Although you are super close to downtown, the casita is a back unit on a quiet off-street, so you will have plenty of privacy. You are in the heart of historic, downtown Santa Fe. We want you to feel at home, but given that this is a residential neighborhood, we ask that you keep things down after 9 PM. :-)

Lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico
I've lived in Santa Fe for over 25 years, and the only thing better than living here, is having other people discover how amazing it is, for themselves! From the art (everywhere!) to the culture (an obscene abundance of film, history and museums) to the spectacular natural beauty (I heard it described once as the perfect alchemy of latitude, longitude and altitude). I am delighted to open the doors of my little casita to you to soak it in for yourself!
