About this listing
Ours is a 4-year-old condominium, two miles from fabulous downtown Ann Arbor. Your bedroom and bath have high ceilings and everything’s sparkling new. Join us for scrumptious homemade breakfast and rely on us to get you to nearby locations.
There is a queen size bed and wifi. The draperies close to make the room dark and cozy. Your private bath is directly across the hall and has a tub and shower combination.
We provide you our personal taxi service. Conrad is retired and happy to drive you to nearby destinations, and then pick you up again -- that service is included in your price. He’ll pick you up and drop you off at Metro Airport for $50 round-trip or $30 one-way. No need to rent a car for your stay in Ann Arbor, whether it’s for a game, visit the kids at school, or simply to hang out in one of the most progressive and diverse cities in America.
I enjoy making a healthy and hearty breakfast each morning for our guests and find it a perfect time to get acquainted. Feel free to enjoy the screened-in balcony any time of day, use our laundry or put your own groceries in the kitchen.
A bus stop at the front of our complex takes you into downtown Ann Arbor on Liberty Street, one of the main roads in the area. Town and campus are easily accessible from here by walking or biking also. Nearby you can walk to grocery stores or a wide variety of restaurants, including Zingerman’s Roadhouse. Here’s a breakdown of places and their distance from your room in our home:
Central Campus & Downtown: 2 miles
“The Big House” Michigan Football Stadium: 2 ½ miles
University of Michigan Hospital: less than 4 miles
Shopping center with Kroger and eateries: 1 mile.
Join us in our everyday lives if you like: evening discussions, watch TV, sit out on the porch. Bring home carry-out and eat in the dining room. Use the kitchen. Feel at home! There is a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
Interaction with guests
In the past several years we have used airbnb for lodging and had wonderful experiences, so now that we have our condo, we want to pass that along to you. Come visit! We are available during your stay to recommend sites and activities, or simply to chat. And of course, Conrad's the driver for your needs while in town. I love to have cooking partners, so if that's your thing, we can have fun that way, too.
This west side neighborhood is quiet, except for some muffled traffic noise. It's a residential area with other condos and homes nearby. The building is extremely quiet with great insulation between units. We often feel like we're the only people in the building.
Conrad is your personal taxi for local trips. In addition, there is a bus stop at the front of our complex. The route goes to downtown Ann Arbor for all fun shopping, eating, and night life. Uber has a strong presence here, too, with fast response times.
Thank you for removing your shoes and leaving them at the front door.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
Conrad and I are international house sitters and travelers. We have had wonderful experiences staying with Airbnb hosts in Paris, all over Spain, San Francisco, and Charleston, South Carolina. Because we finally settled down in our beautiful new condominium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we want to return the favor and host other travelers.
Conrad's retired and I freelance write. We're simple, quiet people who want to enjoy friends, family, and grandkids -- and an occasional house sit in the U.S. or abroad.
When we travel, we make no reservations and love the adventure of getting lost and immersing in a culture. One of our house sits was on the side of a remote mountain in southern Spain. The home was off-the-grid with no neighbors. We loved the adventure and would do it again.
As hosts or guests, the main thing is to connect with people. If you are coming to Ann Arbor, we welcome the opportunity to get to know you.
