Ours is a newly built condominium, two miles from fabulous downtown Ann Arbor. Your bedroom and bath have high ceilings and everything’s sparkling new. Join us for scrumptious homemade breakfast and rely on us to get you to nearby locations.
There is a queen size bed and wifi. The draperies close to make the room dark and cozy. Your private bath is directly across the hall and has a tub and shower combination.
We provide you our personal taxi service. Conrad is retired and happy to drive you to nearby destinations, and then pick you up again -- that service is included in your price. He’ll pick you up and drop you off at Metro Airport for $50 round-trip or $30 one-way. No need to rent a car for your stay in Ann Arbor, whether it’s for a game, visit the kids at school, or simply to hang out in one of the most progressive and diverse cities in America.
I enjoy making a healthy and hearty breakfast each morning for our guests and find it a perfect time to get acquainted. Feel free to enjoy the screened-in balcony any time of day, use our laundry or put your own groceries in the kitchen.
A bus stop is a short walk away and is a straight shot into downtown Ann Arbor on Liberty Street, one of the main roads in the area. Town and campus are easily accessible from here by walking or biking also. Nearby you can walk to grocery stores or a wide variety of restaurants, including Zingerman’s Roadhouse. Here’s a breakdown of places and their distance from your room in our home:
Central Campus & Downtown: 2 miles
“The Big House” Michigan Football Stadium: 2 ½ miles
University of Michigan Hospital: less than 4 miles
Shopping center with Kroger and eateries: 1 mile.
Interaction with Guests
In the past several years we have used airbnb for lodging and had wonderful experiences, so now that we have our brand new condo, we want to pass that along to other nice folks. Come visit! We are available during your stay to recommend sites and activities, or simply to chat. And of course, Conrad's the driver for your needs while in town. I love to have cooking partners, so if that's your thing, we can have fun that way, too.
Thank you to Josie and Conrad Schneider for your hospitality. I was very comfortable for my overnight stay and greatly appreciated the car service. The accommodation was very comfortable and breakfast was perfect. I would highly recommend Josie and Conrad when staying in Ann Arbor.
The listing was accurate, pictures exact. Josie and Conrad were great hosts with breakfasts, car rides, and plenty of conversation. Thanks for the lovely stay!
We really enjoyed staying with Josie and Conrad! We were arriving later than anticipated, but that was not an issue at all, which we very much appreciated. The room was cozy, clean and very comfortable. Delicious cupcakes from Zingerman's were a nice welcoming touch as well. Breakfasts were delicious, and Conrad took time to give us a tour of Ann Arbor, as we are considering moving to the area. Overall, we had a great time and would stay with them again if we are back in Ann Arbor.
Dalene and Pete were awesome! They were so welcoming and accomodating-taking us around Ann Arbor and picking us up. I have an allergy and they were wonderful about making sure breakfast was something I could have and would enjoy. We will be staying here again on our next visit to Ann Arbor and look forward to meeting Josie and Conrad!
The condo was a great place to stay and the hosts were very accommodating. I would gladly stay here again if I were to visit Ann Arbor
Our short stay in Ann Arbor was wonderful! We were hosted by Dalene and Pete in place of Josie and Conrad (amazing people as well I'm sure). They were two of the best hosts we've stayed with in our airbnb travels, very inviting and fascinating to talk with. We felt close in such a short time.
The apartment is very comfortable and clean. All the described amenities are there. The breakfast was delicious and welcome after drinking so much Jolly Pumpkin the night before. They gave us a ride to and from downtown (although we didn't stay out very late either). Overall, a perfect stay. Thanks Pete and Dalene!
Dalene and Pete are filling in while Josie and Conrad are traveling. Pete met me at the bus station when the airport bus arrived and continued to transport me as needed during my stay. This is a very nice plus, since the condo is a distance from many places and weather in Michigan can be erratic. The condo is a short walk to a local bus station to the U. of Michigan and downtown area. I am a walker and so walked back the little over three miles from the U of M stadium after the homecoming game. Pete prepared and served the breakfast I selected from the menu offered the previous evening. Dalene had maps and schedules waiting on my arrival. Both were excellent hosts and fun to meet. I am sure Josie and Conrad are too. Sorry I missed them.
Conrad and I are international house sitters and travelers. We have had wonderful experiences staying with Airbnb hosts in Paris, all over Spain, San Francisco, and Charleston, South Carolina. Because we finally settled down in our beautiful new condominium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we want to return the favor and host other travelers.
Conrad's retired and I freelance write. We're simple, quiet people who want to enjoy friends, family, and grandkids -- and an occasional house sit in the U.S. or abroad.
When we travel, we make no reservations and love the adventure of getting lost and immersing in a culture. One of our house sits was on the side of a remote mountain in southern Spain. The home was off-the-grid with no neighbors. We loved the adventure and would do it again.
As hosts or guests, the main thing is to connect with people. If you are coming to Ann Arbor, we welcome the opportunity to get to know you.
