Wonderful stay over the labor day weekend! We pitched our own tent in a nice secluded spot of Jason's yard. There was a great little fire pit that we used to enjoy the obligatory camp fire. Jason was also really great about giving us tips for where to go, what to do in the area. As well as use of the house for the bathroom, kitchen and water.
As an even nicer bonus he made us some excellent coffee beverages in the mornings!
I'd highly recommend a stay here.
If you are looking for a private, quiet camping spot - you are looking in the right place! the woods behind Jayson's house are beautiful and peaceful.
The area surrounding Jayson's home has much to offer for nature lovers, hikers and bikers. there are also some good restaurants, bars and a nice farmers market near by.
On top of that Jason is a great host, very easy to communicate and very friendly. even though you will be camping, his hospitality will make you feel at home.
My partner and I were hoping to find a relaxing camping getaway from the crowded city and overcrowded beaches on July 4th weekend, Jason's place far exceeded our expectations.
The area offers more activities than any person could accomplish in just one weekend and Jason creates a warm and comfortable environment, offering his own wonderful experience for guests to enjoy.
Jason is a genuinely friendly and interesting person, I would highly recommend the opportunity to get to know him and his escape in NW Ct.
Truly amazing experience. You rock Jason! We will definitely be back :)
Jason is a great host! The property was perfect for tent camping, especially on Labor Day weekend when all the campgrounds were booked solid. The property is on a beautiful rural road with minimal traffic going by. The tent space area is nicely secluded behind the house and not visible from the road. It also backs up to a forest so you don't get the sense that you're in a backyard as there aren't other houses around. There's a fire ring available for the all-important camp fire. Jason went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, to include dealing with some airbnb booking issues as well as offering use of some of the house's indoor space in case of rain. Jason happened to be out of town that weekend so we didn't get to meet him in person but he did provide a local contact which was ultimately unnecessary as everything went off without a hitch.
The property is located a couple miles outside of Litchfield which has a beautiful town square with some good restaurants. This is a great base to use in your exploration of all the outdoor activities that northwest Connecticut has to offer.
We would highly recommend Jason if you need some camping space. The value is unbeatable as well, especially if you have your own tent.
