Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
High ceilings with intricate plaster detail are featured in an antebellum mansion home built in 1851 which sits right in front of the streetcar/trolley stop. A great experience to be right there on "the Avenue" under the 250 year old oak trees.

You can take our self guided walking tour through the Garden District and see one home after another built in 1800's, with names of architect (if known), year built and who lived there.

The space
The suite "B", located at the top of the stairs in this 1851 antebellum mansion, is beautiful. It features high ceilings, wood floors, and lots of lighting.

There is a full sized galley kitchen with washer/dryer, gas stove, dishwasher, and fridge. The bedroom features a queen size bed and there is a sofa bed in the living room. The door that opens to the side private balcony is in the bedroom.

Guest access
There is common front entrance door and hallway to "The Mansion" and the suites upstairs. There is a lever to turn to open the front door. This suite “B” is a private apartment and a door key is provided. Suite B is on the second floor, at top of stairs, with a private balcony overlooking back yard with palm trees, confederate jasmine, and my pet chickens

Other things to note
This space is a complete apartment within my 6,000 square foot house. It is the whole apartment of 500 square feet plus, which is a private apartment for the guests only, and it is not the whole house, which includes other apartments used for air bnb and long term tenants.

Neighborhood highlights

This area is known as the Garden District and is known for its lush gardens and 19th Century mansions. I have created a self guided walking tour as well as a list of all the restaurants and info on each one. The area is patrolled by the Garden District Police who drive through the neighborhoods and are available for emergencies or just to escort you from streetcar late at night if you are concerned. Sometimes it's just better to uber it home if it is late.
