This is a special, double bedroom in a super-central home with garden. It is a great option for design-minded guests seeking a unique place to stay. It will be available until the end of 2016 when I return from a sabbatical In Belgium. The space

I launched as an airbnb host on 12th August 2013. Between Cambridge and recently London, I have received over 80 bookings, with 38 nationalities and have been a guest several times. It has been a wonderful, life-changing experience! Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this such a successful experience.

The house has a garden- and front- facing bedroom with beds, fitted with quality (Calvin Klein, Conran, John Lewis, Muji) cotton-sheets, pillows and different duvets for differing weather. Both rooms are tastefully decorated with purpose-made storage, a chair and lamps. All the bathrooms on this street are on the ground floor.

Guest access

It is an 18th century building with open, light-filled spaces, high ceilings, original features, a Danish, wood-burning stove and located in a conservation area.

You are of course welcome to make yourself at home in the main kitchen-living-dining space. There is a dining table, a tv, i-pod docker, digital radio and printer. The kitchen is ideal if you would like to make yourself a tea or coffee.

Bed-linen and towels are provided. You can also use the hairdryer and the washing machine in the utility room.

There is wireless internet so that you can keep in touch with your family and friends. A vintage bicycle is available to borrow too!

The neighborhood

It is fantastic and according to a UK newspaper (March 2013) Mill Road is one of the coolest places to live in Britain. Described as having a “vibrant array of independent shops and a strong community spirit”, it came in at No.26 in the top 30 list!

Mill Street is a typical, quaint, Cambridge street, with chimney pots, sash windows and bicycles. There are lots of places to eat and drink on the doorstep and others a short walk into the centre. There is a food market at the weekend in Cambridge's central square.

Cambridge itself has everything to offer from punting to piano recitals, museums to markets, botanic gardens to bicycling.

Getting around

The train and bus stations are 10 minutes walk and have connections to the international airports. The streets around the house have residential parking and some metered parking; this is £0.50 for 30 minutes, a maximum stay of 2 hours between 0900 and 1700 Mon-Fri. Visitor's permits are available for £2.00 per day on request.

Other things to note

I am a designer, an Architect and a dancer and generally live in the second room. I shall be away however, in Continental Europe for about 6 months from July to January, hence me offering both rooms to let. I have decorated the spaces myself and hope that you will enjoy staying here.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Send me a message if your are interested in staying, with your travel dates and a little bit about yourself. Thanks, I look forwards to hearing from you!

I am an open, friendly and generous person, an architect by profession, also a dancer, gardener and generally a creative person. I was born in Chile and grew up, from the age of three in the UK. I love meeting people from all over the world, sharing great food, music, chats, books, travelling tales and all the wonderful experiences life brings.
