Richland, Mi mailing address, in Ross township.
Neighborhood is the Ghost town of Yorkville. A thriving cereal start up in the early 1900s. Today, barely a footnote without even its own postal office. Area has great natural beauty with Oak and Maple treelined roads that wind through the area.
Our home is in a mini seclude cluster of Maples, Oaks, and a huge white pine pillar on the side of the home. Birds are quite loud in the morning.

Common sense and politeness.
We felt like we were right at home. We had grand plans to kayak in the morning but slept too late because of the comfort of our bed. Cute little deck where you can enjoy a couple coffee in the morning overlooking Gull Lake. Wonderful experience!
We just returned after spending a week at this location. It was a perfect fit for what we needed which was a clean, comfortable place to sleep and to take a shower. We were working at a local Girl Scout Camp and were looking for a place nearby to sleep. The Foley's were excellent hosts. Very responsive and friendly. They made us feel comfortable and welcome. The room is in the basement of the home. The bathroom is outside the room but right next door. You enter the home through a door into the garage. After passing through the garage you enter the basement through another door. The room is located in the corner of the basement. The wifi worked very well and came in very handy during our evenings as the Camp had poor cell reception. The accommodations are very basic but exactly what we needed. The home was quiet and it was in a quiet neighborhood with a great potential for walks in the morning and evening. It is not directly on the lake but you can see the lake over the house below it and the Foley's do have lakefront access on a very beautiful lake. I would recommend this location to anyone needing a good, safe, clean, quiet place to sleep.
Edward and his wife were fantastic hosts. They provided us with great info and recommendations on Kalamazoo and the surrounding area. The house and lake were beautiful and kayaking was a blast. Thanks guys!!
Ed and Colleen were outstanding hosts. They welcomed us warmly into their home and constantly went the extra mile to ensure we had a comfortable stay, even graciously allowing us to use their kayaks to explore beautiful Gull Lake. Our stay was wonderful and I cannot recommend them enough to everyone.
Ed and Colleen were very welcoming, they stayed up for us and we had tea with them. We had delicious pancakes for breakfast. They were friendly, easy going and we found lots to talk about. The accommodations were very comfortable and what we expected. The house is located near the lake and the neighborhood has a lot of old trees and it's a beautiful location.
Our host did not make us feel welcomed as he was never present the three days we stayed and never explained in advance he would not be there. The evenings were cold as the basement room was 64 degrees including the bathroom and shower. The tiny window in the bedroom does not allow for egress. This issue was highlited as the house next door caught fire and the garage was completely destroyed. There was an honest attempt to make the small bedroom homey , and the room and bathroom were clean. However, the state of clutter throughout the rest of the basement was unsighlly. Had the fire next door spread to the basement level garage we passed through to get to the bedroom , there was the possibilty the car stored in the basement garage could have ignighted, quickly spreading fire through the clutter outside our room leaving us trapped with no way out. This possibility was made more real when we later heard the garage next door housed explosive racing fuel for the race cars stored there. I feel is imperative Mr. Foley provide an egress window FROM THE GUEST BEDROOM before offering to rent again that SLEEPING GUESTS HAVE A WAY TO SAFETY FROM THEIR ROOM!!!!
We never received any communication from John before his arrival. I called him twice left message on voice mail and text message, no answer. We had no way to know when he was arriving. He is right about the neighbors house, tragically caught fire, fortunately the fire did not get close to our house as it consumed neighbors garage on other side. He is wrong about his path being blocked, the fire was on the other side of his egress. The small window in the wrong direction. We have smoke detectors in the house and 2 easy egress routes out of the home from the guest room.
