Neighborhood is the Ghost town of Yorkville. A thriving cereal start up in the early 1900s. Today, barely a footnote without even its own postal office. Area has great natural beauty with Oak and Maple treelined roads that wind through the area.
Our home is in a mini seclude cluster of Maples, Oaks, and a huge white pine pillar on the side of the home. Birds are quite loud in the morning.

A perfect place to relax in peace and quiet. Edward and Coleen were welcoming and generous in their lovely home.
Our stay with the Foleys was very enjoyable. The lake views were magnificent from our terrace. A separate entrance also gave us our privacy. Our hosts were very inviting and gracious. We enjoyed our morning coffee and blueberry pancakes with them. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Thank you to the whole family!
The Foley's hosted our son for a family memorial and were gracious hosts.
The accommodation is on a lower (basement) level.
We had a really great time at the lake house on Gull lake!! Edward and his wife were extremely gracious and fun people to be around! The room was clean, comfortable and quiet -- three things that guarantee a good night's sleep. :) The city center was super charming and the lake that Edward's home on was amazing! They generously said that we were welcome to use their kayaks, and we are so glad we did! Kayaking on this peaceful and beautiful lake was one of the highlights of our trip! :)
A very beautiful setting, with Ed and his family taking every opportunity to make one feel at ease
Our stay with Edward and his family was most enjoyable. We appreciated his hospitality in making us feel welcome, inviting us to make ourselves breakfast in his kitchen, being flexible with our check-in and check-out times, etc. His home is in a lovely setting, where the quiet evenings, chirping birds and friendly squirrels were a bonus. I strongly recommend Edward as a host.
We were in the area for a four day conference - so we were in and out a lot - it was perfect for what we needed. The whole Foley family was warm and welcoming, yet let us do our own thing. They even pitched in the necessary corkscrew and wine glasses when it was finally time for some rest at the end of the day! Sitting on the dock till the sun went down was perfect.
The Foley Family is wonderful! They were very hospitable and very easy to talk to. My wife and I were very glad to be able to meet them and be with their family for the night. The bedroom and bathroom in the basement is very wonderful and is very private if that is what you are interested in, however, we found it enjoyable to talk them! We hope to stay with them again soon!
We stayed three nights with the Foleys and enjoyed the experience. The accommodations were comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean. Ed was a friendly host who was welcoming and gracious. We'd definitely stay again the next time we're in the Kalamazoo area!
We stayed at Ed’s place and the room was as pictured and described. It was clean, with clean/fresh linens, towels and supplies. We were able to come and go as we needed, but were invited to join them at any time. They allowed my husband and daughter to use their kayaks, which was a thrill for both. Ed and his family were warm and welcoming. They offer a casual atmosphere where it is easy to feel at home. We enjoyed our stay with them and would definitely stay with them again. We look forward to another visit to Gull Lake in the near future!
