This special "East Side" spot will give you all the comforts of home with a cool surf town vibe. Walk to some of the best surf breaks from the cottage. We are excited to share this special spot with you! Welcome.
The surf shack is beyond cozy. It's private and quiet. Located walking distance to some of the best Santa Cruz surf breaks and beaches, Black's Beach, Santa Moe's, Sunny Cove. Swim. boogie board, surf or just collect beach glass. At night you can see the stars and hear the waves crash (when the surf is up). At night, get cozy and relax in this peaceful space. The bed may just be the most comfortable bed you ever slept in with all brand new Garnet Hill bedding.
Our guests are welcome to relax in our ozone hot tub. Melt your tired muscles and worries away. We also provide 2 cruiser bikes with locks and helmets that make cruising the beach and Pleasure Point that much easier. Live like a local. Ride to Santa Cruz' best coffee shop, Verve, in the morning and then cruise the beach.
Interaction with guests
We live here, so we are around, but we absolutely will respect your privacy. The cottage is completely separate from our home. That being said, we love to meet new people and welcome you into our home. if you need anything at all or have any questions about Santa Cruz, please don't hesitate to ask us.
Other things to note
We are health conscious (of course, this is Santa Cruz :), so really don't want any smoking in the cottage or yard for that matter. We also cannot allow dogs. We have a new pup, Elle. She is very friendly. We ask that you make sure she doesn't go out the side gate.
We just ask just that quests be respectful. Quiet at night with music levels kept reasonable. Please recycle (bins provided). We also have a no pet policy. We have an older dog that gets stressed out by having other dogs around. We want her last years to be as stress free as possible.
Bring good vibes.

Rick and I have been together for many years. We are just beginning a life as empty nesters. We work hard to be able to play hard as much as we can mountain biking, dirt biking, skiing, hiking in the Sierras and travelling to other beautiful beachy towns. Life is good.
