Private Room/Bath - Outer Mission

House - Private room · Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94110, United States

This is a large bedroom with a private bath in a three bedroom two bath home. This space gets good afternoon sun. My home is within walking distance to a lot of public transportation great restaurants and down the street from a lovely park.

The Space

This space accommodates two comfortably in a queen size bed.

Guest Access

The kitchen is currently being remodeled. It is accessible but also a bit dusty. There is a back yard with a patio that is awesome for sipping morning coffee or taking in the last few rays of sun before the day ends.

Interaction with Guests

When you book this room you will be sharing common areas with Me and Lola. Lola is a small dog I rescued in Feb 2013. As far as I can tell she is 9 1/2 years old, a little timid but also very cuddly. I work a full time, and then some, while Lola manages the home.

The Neighborhood

I am located at the edge of Bernal Height/outer mission and crossing into Glen Park. Comfortably close to all the action.

Getting around

House is located on a main bus line that travels the span of the city from Embarcadero to Daly City. There are several bus lines within walking distance that can connect you to pretty much any place you'd like to go in the city. There is limited street parking, no permit is required.

If you are coming from SFO you can catch BART inbound towards Embarcadero, exit at Glen Park Station and transfer to the J taking it one stop to San Jose and Randall Street. From there It's a one block walk on Mission.

If you are coming from Oakland, you can catch the airport shuttle to Bart. Catch any outbound train to the 24th Street Station. At 24th you catch the 14, or 49 outbound for a 14 min ride to Appelton Street. Exit, cross the street walk half a block.

Other Things to Note

Parking in the city is hard to come by. I don't offer any private parking. If you have a vehicle be prepared for street parking on hills and occasionally a two block walk to the house.

Check In
  • This space was fantastic. The private bath was a definite plus! Really easy bus ride to the mission, too. I didn't see Annamarie at all, but her little dog was super cute. I would definitely stay here again!

  • We didn't get to meet Annamarie but she organized for us to get into the apartment earlier since we arrived earlier than actual check in time and it was no problem to leave after check out as well. The room is really nice and is nicely located in the outer mission. Buses leave every few minutes. It gets a little cold at night but she has a heater in the room in case you get cold. There are some cute coffee shops and restaurants right around the corner within walking distance. If you are from NYC, you can compare the neighborhood to Bushwick 3 years ago. I would definitely stay there again.

  • Location was great. New to SF and this was a good place to get your bearings and walk to the Glen Park or 24th street BART stations within 15 minutes. We walked around the nearby Holly park daily. Bernal Heights and Glen Park are great neighborhoods to walk around and get stunning views of the city. We enjoyed sitting in the back courtyard very much, plenty of plants and trees to make you feel like your in a cozy oasis. The room and bath were perfect, large, clean, and private. Anna was a very gracious host and enjoyed talking with her about the South Mission area and the history behind the house. Would definitely come back.

  • Everything was great. I was even able to extend my stay when I needed to. I would definitely stay at Anna Marie's again!

  • I really enjoyed my five day stay at Anna Marie's place near the Mission/Bernal Heights. It is spacious, has everything one would need, and I loved exploring the surrounding neighborhoods and coming and going as I pleased. The Cafe St. George is a great little cafe close by. I felt like a local!

  • We stayed for two nights, perfect for what we needed. Very nice, clean room. Easy to get to. Thank you so much!

  • We had a great time at Annamarie's place. The house is lovely, especially the bright kitchen and the nice patio. The room was very clean and cosy, the bathroom all new and clean as well. Annamarie was very kind and helpful. The location is perfect to explore the lively Mission and Valencia Street.
Thank you for being a great host and letting us enjoy our stay in SF!

  • I really liked staying at Annamarie's place, it was exactly as she describes it in the listing and is a great value!

The room is quite spacious and bed very comfortable. I did not get to talk with Annamarie that much, but she was super nice and responded promptly with any question I had. Lola, her dog, was also very sweet and liked sit on my lag. My absolute favorite part was the great shower head in the bathroom! It was like Torrential Amazon Rain!!!

Some thoughts on the Outer Mission, which is is a great neighborhood, but has a slight edge to it. That's okay, cause I don't mind that. It's best to be aware of your surroundings here and don't leave anything in your car that you don't want to lose. But that goes for pretty much anywhere in SF or a big city. Do that and you'll have a great stay with Annamarie and Lola!!!

I will definitely stay with them in the future!

  • Anna was a very trusting and welcome host. She gave excellent instructions for the keybox and internet. The private room is very nice and the bathroom is excellent. There is no central heat in the building, which I think is common in San Francisco, but she provides you with 2 space heaters; one in the bedroom and one in the bathroom. Location was perfect, right on a main road.

  • We had a really nice stay at Annamarie's place. The room we stayed in offered lots of space and we had a modern and clean bathroom just for ourselves. Right in front of the apartment was a bus and muni station, so it was totally easy to get in the city. The area around the apartment was also nice. Lots of different bars, cafés and reastaurants. We recommend everybody just to walk down the mission street and to enjoy the atmosphere.
All in all we had a great time in San Francisco and Annamarie's place was definitely part of it! Thanks again!

I grew up in the house that I'm living in. Not to many San Franciscans can say that. When my family acquired it it had been sitting on a rotting lot, legally condemned. It still needs a lot of cosmetic work but over the years it's become a comfortable home. I've visited around the US mostly road trips through Texas; the farthest east I've been is Indiana. I visit family in Mexico semi annually and took a trip to Peru a few years ago. I studied theatre and Early Childhood Education. I am currently working as Lead teacher for a great non profit. .
