Calm and convenient location

Guests say this area is peaceful and it’s easy to get around.
ANNOUNCEMENT: DURING SPRING SEMESTER (Jan-May) 2027 WE WILL GIVE A DRASTICALLY REDUCED "LOW SEASON" PRICE FOR 3-4 MONTH STAYS. 5 min walk from Bowdoin campus. Reach out and we're happy to work with you!

"Brunswick Beata" is located steps from Bowdoin, restaurants, movies, public transportation & the town green. This colorful, unique and spotless gem is an extraordinarily comfortable and inspired place to stay while in Brunswick & surrounding area! Welcome!

The space
Our space is unique because of its prime location in town, yet quiet and private, and the brand new & renovated barn, originally designed & decorated in exquisite taste, make this an experience to remember.

Guest access
The whole barn apartment, (1000 sq. ft. divided on two levels with "open" floor plan solution. Lots of light and air) and its private entrance, is for you only, and our lovely garden and patio with many places to lounge is for your enjoyment too!

Other things to note
You will access the barn apartment and your private entrance by walking through our yard past the main house. The garden and patio are shared spaces for guests and hosts. You are free to enjoy the grounds but we ask that you respect the calm and serene surroundings we strive to create here. Pick yummy cherry tomatoes off the vine, find a strawberry to enjoy or lounge in the chaise long. It's all there for your pleasure. If you visit in cooler seasons, we have generous sheepskins, blankets and candle lanterns to put out on the chairs to keep you warm and cozy.

We also provide a wireless printer in our work space area and excellent wifi speed.

Are you more than 2 people? Please note that the space can accommodate 1 extra person—adult or child—with a comfy twin floor mattress and half bath on the first floor, but that this living area is not separated from the upstairs bedroom area with a door, just stairs. This may make it work for some (like a family with a child) but not for 3 adults who prefer privacy. There is a $30 per night extra fee for the third person.

We provide coffee, tea and some breakfast items and snacks to welcome you, and you will find everything (and more!) of what you'll need of cooking essentials.

Please also note that there is a TV with a wifi TV box so you can access Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO, etc., but no regular cable TV.

There is ample space for your things, with both hanging, shelf and drawer space, as well as luggage racks and storage closets. We are neat and organized and the space is not cluttered. We want our guests to feel at home and comfortable, with plenty of room to spread out.

I was born and raised in Oslo, Norway, but have lived in the US for about 30 years, and raised my three sons in CT. I found my zen in Maine in 2016, maybe because it’s a lot like Norway? I'm a writer and my husband Tony is a Mainer, retired professor, and Bowdoin alum. We are open and curious, and we love to host. As guests, our motto is to respect other people's homes as we hope they will respect ours. As hosts we are generous and attentive.
