Fabulous, private guest house, centrally located and close to Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown LA and 40 mins from Disneyland
Why stay anywhere else in Los Angeles, when you can stay in comfort and style in a large, private loft-like space that is situated in an historic gated neighbourhood in Los Angeles which was home to famous musicians (Marvin Gaye and Lena Horn to name a few) and actors (Tyrone Power, Hattie McDaniel and others) during Los Angeles' golden age of the 1930's and 1940's.
I have been an Airbnb host since 2009 and I love hosting people from all over the world.
So, let me tell you about my guest house.....
Where am I located?
I am centrally located in the Hancock Park/Korea town area of Los Angeles. It is 5 minutes from the charm of Larchmont Village and Paramount Studios, 12 minutes from downtown LA , 12 minutes to Beverly Hills and 20 minutes from Universal Studios. I am close to major freeways and cross streets that can get you anywhere you need to go. For those who don't wish to drive in LA, I am walking distance to Olympic Boulevard which is serviced by major bus lines going east and west.
What is close by?
The guest house is located right on the edge of LA's famous Korea Town. There are lots of great Korean restaurants within working distance - each with their unique view of Korean cuisine and to fit every budget. Larchmont is about 1 mile north of my place and it has many great restaurants, coffee shops and a farmers market - there is something to meet everyone's taste. A short 10 mins drive east of me is LA downtown - which boasts, LA Live with movie theaters, restaurants, bars and of course the Staples Center - the home of the Lakers and Kings.
What is the guest house like?
The guest house is a large, entirely renovated studio style apartment located on the second floor with its own outdoor patio overlooking a large flowering garden. It is an entirely separate structure from my house and not converted garage like many guest houses in LA - it was especially built as a guest house and it has total privacy from my house. It is located down a gated driveway with its own private and secure entry. The terrace faces south and is covered in flowering jasmine and bougainvillea and is perfect for an early morning coffee or an evening glass of wine under the stars. So you are probably asking - what makes my place unique? I think my place provides a lot of value - it's large, spacious, private and reasonably priced in terms of what your buck gets you in LA and close to many of the usual attractions. You could go to a hotel with different amenities, but then you have to deal with all the other guests - at my place, there is just us and you :)
What is inside the guest house?

•a gorgeous and comfortable Queen sized bed with fresh linens. I also have a queen air mattress for those of you who don't wish to share a bed!
•a closet with hanging space for your dresses and shirts, a chest of drawers and ample space for your bags.
•a beautiful marble bathroom with a large shower (no tub).
•soft and fluffy hotel style towels and a hair dryer, iron and ironing board are provided.
•a port a crib in case you need it for your little one.
•a granite kitchen with a 2 burner cook top, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator (under bench), coffee maker, toaster, cooking utensils, plates, glasses, cutlery etc. All of this is perfect for cooking breakfast before you head out to see LA.
•free fast broadband WIFI to keep you connected.
•a flat screen TV with Basic Cable and HBO package (PPV requires an extra charge)
•air conditioning to keep you cool and heat to keep you cozy and warm.
•easy, free and safe street parking on a wide quiet street right in front of the main house (sorry - no off street parking is available).
What else do I need to know about the guest house before I book? THIS IS THE IMPORTANT STUFF ...
•The cost per night does not include Los Angeles City Hotel Tax which is currently 14% of the room rate on a per night basis. You need to pay the tax separately when you arrive and I'll deal with the hassle of paying the City. If I do agree to host an extra guest (i.e. 3 of you) then there is an extra USD25 per night additional charge for your extra guest.
•To cover that broken plate, stray cigarette burn or any other damage, I require a USD200 security deposit. It is refundable at the end of your stay and so far I have returned everyone's security deposit in full!
•No smoking inside the guest house - but there is a lovely terrace where you may smoke outside and enjoy a view over the garden. So much nicer, don't you think?
•Please check my calendar before you book! I keep it up to date and I hate to disappoint you when you ask for dates that are already booked. I take bookings on a first come first served basis -as much as i might love you, I don't hold the space - if in doubt - please book and then cancel within a reasonable time in advance.
•I love animals, but they can only stay if you make prior arrangements with me. Of course – this doesn't apply to service animals- these guys are always welcome to stay! If you do have a pet please note that I have 2 large Siberian Huskies who use the garden. They are friendly and socialized, but like a lot of huskies they aren't always good with small animals and cats.
•If you don't tell me – I can't fix it! So speak up!!!!

My guests have exclusive use of a private terrace that overlooks my garden and which is accessible from the guest house - it is in the photos. The rest of the garden is used by my family.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as much or as little as they wish. I am always on hand if they have questions, need directions, a restaurant recommendation or to call a taxi.
I love my Korea Town/Larchmont neighborhood. It is part of the historic core of LA, but also part of the new LA. It has fascinating stores, interesting places to eat and it's close to all the good stuff to see in LA.
There is a major bus line at the end of my street that takes you east and west and connects to north/south bus lines and trains. I also have plenty of free and safe street parking right outside my door and unlike many places in LA, you don't need a permit for it.
Price excludes Los Angeles City Hotel Tax which is 14% per night. This is collected in cash on arrival as AirBnb currently does not have the ability to charge this through the site. Still a bargain for the size and amenities ! (and of course, the great host :))
A $200 refundable security/damage deposit is required on arrival.
Extra guest charge - $25 per night. Extra guests need to be approved by me in advance please.
