Historic Factory Loft Studio

Apartment - Shared room · Huyshope Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106, United States

The Space

I live alone in a beautiful factory loft studio apartment that features panoramic views of the rolling landscape looking south from Hartford. It's perfect for visitors to the Convention Center, less than a mile walk.

The space is decorated in a clean and modern style, influenced by my periodic trips to Denmark for work. The studio is a single room with a separate bathroom, and I keep my bed upstairs in the open loft. I have one full-sized sofa bed for rent on the main floor, which is open-air to the loft. So, you will be sharing an open space with me and there will be little privacy.

I'm a tidy person, keep decent hours (6am rise, 11pm bed) and expect my guests to do the same. I accept non-smoking guests only for a maximum of a two night stay. I love dogs! Your small dog (under 20lbs) would be welcome too if he/she is relatively mellow. :-)

Wireless Internet access is included, and please note that I don't own a TV or cable service. I stock coffee and tea, and there's a café at the front entrance to my building.

I'm located 10 minutes' drive from the Hartford Amtrak service and can arrange pickup/drop-off with advanced notice. Also, with a little more coordination I am open to picking you up and/or dropping you off at Hartford Bradley airport in Windsor Locks, CT.

  • Tim was an excellent host who does an admirable job of giving a quality experience in Hartford for a very reasonable price. This is my second time in the area for work and I was delighted to have the chance to stay in an area of the city I have been curious about. In short, Tim's place is exactly as it appears in his photos. He has huge windows, beautiful hardwood floors, 15-20 feet tall ceilings, etc. It is a true loft apartment and if I were to live Hartford that is the first building I would seriously consider. On a more personal note, Tim is incredibly helpful and easy to make arrangements with. Although the space is definitely "shared," we had no problems arranging our mutual morning process before heading off to work. Given all of this, I strongly recommend you check out staying in his place if you are passing through the area.

Thanks for a great stay Tim!

  • Staying with Tim was nice, we booked the bed on very short notice and he accepted right away! The place was awesome and Tim was a very friendly and most of all helpful host! We recommend this place to everyone who's in need of a place to crash in hartford!

  • I really enjoyed my stay with Tim. He's a friendly, laid-back guy with many interesting experiences and insights to share. He keeps his place very clean and tidy, and although I was a bit hesitant to book a stay in a shared loft space as a girl travelling alone, his loft is spacious and Tim was extremely respectful of my space and privacy. His loft is also at a great location if you're looking to stay close to Hartford Hospital or Connecticut Children's - about a 20 min walk.

  • Because I booked late for a conference in Hartford, all the hotels were full. I went on Airbnb for the first time and found Tim's place, within walking distance--less than a mile--from the Connecticut Convention Center. What a great experience! Tim is a warm, gracious host and made me feel very welcome. Tim's loft space reflects his character: thoughtful, interesting, and friendly. I highly recommend Tim and his place for anyone looking for a place to stay near downtown Hartford.

  • My sister and I stayed at Tim's place as part of a bachelorette getaway. We loved the huge windows and modern look. We felt completely safe and had a great time talking to Tim about his travels abroad and business ventures.

  • Tim was a great host. I really enjoyed my stay at his loft studio. It was spacious and had nice natural light coming through big windows. Tim had interesting experiences of foreign travels, so it was fun to talk about them. I should also stress that everything was neat and clean and orderly.

About
Big thinker amused by little things. Lover of life, techie, welcoming host, and now globetrotter. I'm a recent transplant to Hartford from Chicago, and also frequently travel to Denmark for work. I love exploring new places. In 2013 I decided to begin hosting travelers at my apartment to give back to the AirBNB community, meet interesting people, and because I'm saving up to fulfill my life-long dream of learning to fly airplanes.
