Judy was a great host providing us more than what we needed while still respecting our privacy. A nice secluded quiet place in the woods. It was perfect.
It was incredibly peaceful!
Thank you so much for your hospitality. I enjoyed every minute. You both are super nice people, and I would come back for sure. Also, if you have extra time - see the farm, the river, or just take a walk through the forest. Again - thank you
Great place. Judy was awesome and gave us access to her river dock. She also invited my 5 year old to ride her horse. Will stay again.
We had a great peaceful stay. "Tree house" is located in a large wooded area with no outside noise. The only noise is birds.
Positives: nice n clean house. Jodi is very pleasant and helpful. She also raises chickens and offered us eggs. These eggs were delicious! Everything worked on the house. It's a well kept house. Nice garden w lounge chairs outside. Covered porch/balcony was excellent to eat and relax while experiencing outdoors.
Negatives: mosquitoes! Second bedroom is downstairs and not connected with the upstairs and has no bathroom or sink.... Was a little inconvenient. Downstairs bedroom windows had no screens so could not open windows without letting in mosquitoes.
All in all it was a great stay!
Judi was wonderful, warm and welcoming, and very helpful! There was a vase of flowers awaiting us on the secluded deck outside, and fresh eggs laid by her hens.
We loved staying at Judy's treehouse. It was lovely to see spring develop in Florida while it was snowing at our home.
We read reviews of Horsepower Farm before going and could not agree more with the positive reviews from the guests before us.
Judi was like visiting family without the dilemmas of being family. Helpful, kind, and not intrusive by any description and had wonderful suggestions. The property was wonderful. The visitors such as hawks and turtles and owls were a delight. The heritage chickens and roosters and the Tennessee Walkers were an added treat. I hope to ride on our next visit. When you visit be sure to try the sushi at 60 Maine in High Springs.
You, too, were a joy to host. Your suggestions regarding the kitchen and how to improve it are noted and will be considered further. Thanks for the input. I look forward to seeing you again. Let me know if I can be of help to you listing your private island in Maine! Travel safely and stay warm.

Trying to be self-sustainable growing Black Angus beef and chickens, growing organic vegetables and herbs; keeping fit in the process while riding my Tennessee Walkers and learning how to clog. Love the outdoors so this is a fine place to be. We love to watch the river roll by but have little time ourselves to indulge in a canoe float downstream but I can highly recommend it as we used to do it when this was our weekend hideaway!
Originally from England, I enjoy the warm weather. The national obsession there is gardening which I have endeavored to master in the sub-tropics. I love being outdoors but when the heat is too much, I take to my fabric studio and create quilt tops which are displayed here and there. Hubby Mike collects cars and would love to show you his eclectic treasures from French wreck to hot rods.
We travelled all around the world to find a place to retire and we found bliss. Italy, Ireland, Costa Rica, Thailand and Malaysia were all considered but this is where we landed. Come share the pleasure.
