Georgia Mountain Cabin w/Fireplace

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Highland Forge Ln, Blairsville, GA 30512, United States

The Dogwood Cabin is located on 33 acres of rolling hills, creeks and lakes nestled in the pristine North Georgia Mountains. The all pine interior and wood burning fireplace greet you when you open the door. 24 hr on-site support.

The Space

Enjoy fall leaves or winter snow in a private cabin that is a little bit country...and a whole lot of Ikea. Modern/Rustic decor with all "mod cons" (Flat screen TV, TVs in bedrooms, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Jacuzzi Tub in master bathroom, Wi-Fi and fully equipped kitchen). Fresh linens and towels provided in this two bathroom that sleeps 6 (1 king size bed in master bedroom, a full-sized bed in the sleeping loft, a queen size sofa bed in the living room, and a single sofa bed in the loft). Our cabin is both kid friendly (our son loves the hammock, DVDs, toys, etc.) and completely romantic (we love the Jacuzzi tub, quiet porch views, fireplace, and how we are set away from all other cabins for privacy). In truth, our son loves the Jacuzzi, too. Enjoy coffee, full meals or a nap on the wide back porch that has a sleeping hammock, gas grill (no charcoal mess), and rocking chairs. Trout fishing, beautiful Vogel State Park, and horseback riding nearby. The cabin is 20 minutes from the start of the Appalachian Trail, and 15 minutes from Brasstown Bald, Georgia’s highest mountain. We stay in the cabin for part of summer and live full-time in Miami. Our family lives in Blairsville year-round, so we are familiar with the area and have lots of suggestions for things to do and places to go if needed. Remember, we have on-site, 24-hour help from someone who will meet you at the cabin and is able to guide you to local sights when needed (or get you more firewood). We are also a text or email away for special requests or assistance. We travel internationally a lot (family in South America and Germany); we understand the unique needs and information that may arise.

$125 per night (2 night minimum); special rates for Sundays through Thursdays and for anyone who rents for extended stays. Let's talk.

Guest Access

The cabin has a fireplace, full kitchen, indoor Jacuzzi tub, 2 full bathrooms, electric AC/heat, fully-loaded kitchen, LCD TV with HBO and a gas grill. There's Netflix, Wi-Fi, and free nationwide land-line. (The land-line is important, as the remote location can interfere with cellphone reception.) On-site trails and creeks.

Interaction with Guests

Interaction is as often as necessary. We are available via text, (website hidden), or cell phone and we have a property manager who lives 40 yards away in another cabin. If you want support or have questions, we are available.

  • My boyfriend and I have been trying to plan a trip for some time. Over this holiday season, we decided that a trip to the mountains in Georgia would be a great way to spend a couple of days. We are so happy that we stayed at the Dogwood because it was absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for. The house was in impeccable condition and had all the amenities you would ever need to make it feel like it is a home away from home. We were very pleased to see that the kitchen was completely stocked with everything needed for cooking a nice meal and that there was enough firewood to last us the two cold nights that we were there.

We didn't venture out much other than to take a couple of walks around the area which was very beautiful. We found that the cabin was very cozy and inviting. The location of the cabin was also not far from Helen which was a nice stop on the way to and from staying at the Dogwood.

Overall, the cabin was roomy but well priced and the experience was amazing and we highly recommend it!

  • We had a lovely stay at the Dogwood Cabin. We stayed for 3 nights over New Year's Eve, and it was a wonderful way to ring in the new year. The cabin is very cozy, and has lots of comforts. It is small, but perfect for my family of 5.

The location is great, with lots of amazing hikes and other activities. It is also well-located near Blairsville and other towns. It is not that remote, so it is possible to get to shops and restaurants with a short drive.

  • We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was even better than pictured. We stayed over Christmas and were delighted to find the fireplace decorated for the holidays! Everything was super clean and well cared for. The beds were particularly comfortable too. We did not want to leave! We definitely hope to return for another visit soon!

  • Undiscovered Hideaway! Will definitely be back. Very nice cabin to get away for a weekend trip or week long vacation. I have to say the pictures do not do it justice. Nelson is very helpful and his property manager, Larry, is just a pleasure to work with. The cabin has absolutely anything you may need in a beautiful setting. Lots or hiking and wineries in the area. Do not wait until Blairsville to pick up groceries. The nearest market is 20 minutes away and only gas stations for something you may have forgot. Thanks for the great visit!

About
Nelson is an obsessive compulsive long distance runner from Miami Beach (I beat Oprah and P-Diddy at the NYC Marathon!) who occasionally fishes and spends way too much time thinking about fishing. My wife, Glenda, is a librarian who uses librarian glasses and reads a lot like librarians do. She loves the outdoors and is completely immune to cold weather. She can also do a mean cannon ball in the pool.
