The neighbourhood was very agreeable. The shops, cafés and the bars were perfect for our needs, particularly Cafe Poliveau and Agapes. The location of the apartment was perfect, close to Jardin des Plantes and the river. We could use the 2day pass for the Batobus and the 3day pass for l'Open Tour to help us to orient ourselves without getting lost too many times.
The apartment itself was warm and inviting and included everything we could wish for in a short stay accommodation.
There was a small hiccup when our arrival was later than expected due to a delayed flight, and we could not contact Odile, but the very kind man from Cafe Poliveau helped us to phone her. After that both Odile and Matt were quick to respond when we had queries. They also provided many helpful tips for strangers in Paris.
The entire experience was memorable and we felt very comfortable in the apartment and in the neighbourhood.
Great stay, excellent location. Everything we expected. We found the Metro fantastic and would take us where we needed to go. Would recommend to others looking for a typical Parisian experience. Thank you so much.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Paris home away from home, in fact, our apartment was one of the highlights of our trip. In a completely untouristy neighborhood tucked away near the Jardin des Plantes, we were only a few feet away from all our needs, a friendly grocery store, an artisan bakery, a cosy cafe, and within easy walking distance of 2 Metro stops. Odile and Matt's communication was superb from the very start. They answered all questions promptly and completely, and gave helpful advice about planning both our apartment stay and our trip as a whole. Meeting up to get the key and get shown around the flat was smooth. The apartment was clean and comfortable, the beds in the bedroom were excellent, but so was the fold out couch in the living room, a rarity. There were lovely personal touches around the apartment, and a great shower with plenty of hot water. Our best meal in Paris was a block away, at the Moroccan restaurant, Au P'tit Cahoua. Although we did not need anything special during our stay, I have complete confidence that if I had asked, Matt and Odile would have been happy to help. All in all a wonderful experience. We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else in Paris. Merci and á bientôt!
A lovely stay in Rustic apartment closer to the 13th arr.
Only positive feedback to leave for our host Odile. Ever helpful and always quick to respond to our requests! Hairdryer and iron available in the apartment, and with four of us staying together a second key was most handy!
The apartment is located about 700 metres from saint marcel on metro line number 5. My husband and i found the highlight of the neighbourhood to be the Markets of Rue Mouffetard. My mother and father in law (65ish years old) found the walking a bit much - we should have clarified the location with more precision, prior to booking. At this price point though, it really is a very good option!
What you see is what you get with this apartment - for the price it is certainly everything you could want.
Looking forward to staying again on my next trip to paris!
The hosts were very nice. We had virtually no contact with Matt, but did with Odile, and with Matt's fiancé, Elisa (by phone & text message).
The unit was neat, clean, and furnished with everything we needed. A few days into our stay, we noticed the toilet beginning to back up. Luckily, no disasters, but an awkward wait until the next afternoon when Odile came by to fix it. We did nothing that would cause the problem, so the aged plumbing may have been at fault; don't really know.
Our converters did not seem to work, so we just plugged our Macbook (with built-in converter) into an adaptor.
Furniture is basic. Shower leaks near the door hinge.
The place is in a cute neighborhood, convenient to everything, and quiet and comfortable. The only noise was from children at a nearby pre-school; we liked that noise.
Elisa made a special effort to help us schedule a` taxi. This relieved our language anxiety about French. Both Elisa and Odile spoke English very well.
Loved the location, the courtyard view, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Hosts were fantastic about communicating with us and offered all sorts of useful tourist information. Twin beds were very comfortable, sofa bed less so! We would definitely use this apartment again.
My wife and I were satisfied with the location, space, and amenities -- our 3-night stay went smoothly and all was as described. It's in a quieter neighborhood, right on the border between 5 and 13ieme, but the heart of the latin quarter is a fairly short walk, as is metro line 5 -- and there are plenty of food options (including grocery stores) in the neighborhood. We didn't meet Odile or Matt (Odile's son met us when we arrived), but Odile was very responsive via e-mail and phone when needed.

About the Host, Odile And Matt
Hi, I'm Matt, an enthusiastic and very social parisian.
I'm interested in nature, traveling, scuba diving, photography and horse-riding.
I love to cook and create new recipes for my friends.
I used to live for many years abroad, I still travel a lot and I love to help travelers discover my beloved Paris city and its hidden secrets.
On my spare time, I manage my very own flats, the flats of some friends of mine, and one flat of my company, that we rent from time to time to tourists when we don't use it for our employees.
Odile is a wonderful lady who is helping me full time with her team on all the logistics of our hosting activity. Parisian too, super friendly and very helpful, she's dedicated to your stay.
