The space

Cozy 1 bed flat, in a lovely neighborhood close to local shops and a park, with great transport links:

- Easiest way into Central London:
Take the 242 bus to Hackney Central overground station (5min bus ride) then take the overground 3 stops to Highbury and Islington. From there take the Victoria Line 4 stops to Oxford Circus. (train journey takes approx 22 mins, if you factor in walk and wait times, no more than 40 mins)

- The 242 bus gets you to Liverpool street station in 30 mins. From there's its only 6 stops (10mins) to Oxford Circus.

- The 242 bus is 24 hours and conveniently takes you right into central London. Also gets you to Dalston/ Shoreditch in 15/20 mins.

- Meals are not included, but use of the kitchen is fully at your disposal between 07:00am - 22:00pm.

Clean, simple, spacious room with Queen size bed.

Wifi, clean towels & bedding provided.

Ideal for couples, friends or lone travellers.

Nice neighborhood with a range of shops and cafes and a weekly Sunday Market.

Check in times during the week is either before 07:00am or after 19:30pm but I can be flexible depending on work. Free to check in at any time on the weekends.

Check out is noon but if you need to check out later there is a £10 charge.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any more queries :)

Guest access

- Bathroom is shared, shower is hand held.
- Kitchen is at guests disposal between 07:15am - 22.30pm.
- Welcome to the living room as I mostly have work.

Interaction with guests

I work full time so unfortunately my time during the week is quite limited. I leave the flat at around 07.10am (most days) and don't usually get home until late.

That being said, I'm never further than a text or email away and most weekends I am around :)

Other things to note

Please consider the following before booking:

- During the week, guests can check in before 07:00am or after 19:30pm. On weekends check in is flexible and you can check in any time you like.

- For late check out's (after midday) there is a £10 surcharge.

- There is no closet space, but there are bedside drawers, and hangers to hang your clothes on the back of the door.

- Shower is hand held, but large bath tub to unwind in after a long day.

- The flat is quite small so there is no dining table/ area - however trays are available.

- Once you are all checked in and settled, no hard shoes inside please.

- Double check the door is locked when you are going out as it is not self locking.

This place was a real jackpot for us. We were having such a hard time finding accommodation in London and we found the perfect spot. Walking distance to the train that connects you with anywhere in London, this is a cute, modern and ultra comfortable apartment. Mons was an amazing host, leaving us notes and cards, she really went the extra mile to make us feel at home and welcome. When we arrived, she drove us to the store and when we left, she let us keep our bags at her place for hours. It was really a great experience. I highly recommend her place

Staying at Mon's was very comfortable! She is so friendly and helpful and was flexible to find a time that would work for me to pick up the key the day before check in (my friend and I were checking out of a hostel in the morning so we would've had to carry our heavy packs all day but instead were able to check into her place at our convenience!). Mons also drove us back to the overground station after we picked up the key - it was so nice of her! The neighborhood was a bit confusing for my friend and I to navigate and we didn't find much exciting activity near the apartment - we had to take buses or the tube to get to other areas with cool restaurants, bars, and shops. Also, the walk from hackney central took us about 20 minutes...we did wish her apartment was closer for ease of travel. Some of the areas while walking from the overground station to her apartment felt a bit dodgy but we felt really safe inside her place! Her shower is a tub with a shower head that does not hang above - it is a handheld one that you have to hold while you shower (this is the only minor complaint about her actual apartment). Overall, the apartment was very clean and Mon was super friendly and conversational but also gave us our privacy! Very sweet gal! We enjoyed staying at her place :)

Monique was a great host, super attentive and kind. We exchanged several messages before/after booking. I didn't stay with her myself but heard only great things about her place.

Staying with Monique was awesome! She was so accommodating, even waited for us to make sure we got there safely when she had a party to go to. Her place was really clean and nice, exactly as pictured. It was about an hour bus ride to the city, but it was one bus that took you directly there so it was easy!

Monique was amazing. So very accommodating (we were running very late so she picked us up from the station), helpful (provided me with a list of places to celebrate my birthday AND contacted them for guest lists) and just fun to be around. The flat and room was immaculate, neat and organized. The bus stop is about 2 minutes from the door and provided easy access to downtown. I highly recommend this place and hope that she'll have me back during my next stay in London.

Monique was extremely lovely and friendly and fun to hang out with! She was very rad when it comes to helping the visitor get acclimated with her place and had excellent communication with me throughout the experience. I recommend Monique's room for any travellers that come across this listing! The neighborhood has great food options and transportation links. Highly recommended!

Julie and I's stay with Monique was very pleasant. Monique went out of her way to make us feel at home and even picked us up on arrival! How awesome! Monique gave us as much privacy as we needed, allowed us to come in at convenient hours for us, but would also chat us up quite frequently. Location-wise: Once you got used to where it is, it doesn't take long at all to get to the heart of London by tube. Overall, this was our first real airbnb experience and Monique made it awesome.
