evento da non perdere per gli amanti dei vini toscani è la festa del "vinsanto" che si tiene a Montefollonico nella prima settimana di Dicembre.
We had a wonderful time at Andrea's tower in Montefollonico. It is clean, quiet and has incredible views of the countryside. They welcomed us with a bottle of local wine and an opportunity to use the olive grove garden for dinner.
It was incredibly hot while we were there, but the tower stays really cool and breezy with the windows open. The kitchen works great for cooking simple meals, and the small market in town has everything we needed. We like to hike and there are some great walking trails around Montefollonico and the surrounding areas. We were there three nights and it was a great place to do day trips exploring other small villages and the countryside.
Andrea and Anna were wonderful host. The tower is so nice. The entire top floor is yours and the views are spectacular. The place is small and cozy but even though there were 4 of us staying there it didn't feel crowded. When we arrived the weather had turned unseasonably warm, and Andrea spent considerable time locating a fan for us to use. There isn't air conditioning but none is needed as you get beautiful cross breezes just by opening the windows. Andrea arranged a wine tasting at the local wine cantina and came with us as the owner does not speak English so he took time out of his busy schedule to come and interpret for us. We so appreciate his personal attention. This place for me was the highlight of a month of travels throughout Europe. I would come back here in a heart beat! Thank you Anna, Andrea, Matilde and Carlo for your hospitality!
Andrea and Anna were lovely hosts, always happy to help. The tower was a great place to stay and Montefollonico a beautiful village. The restaurants in town were fantastic and just a couple of minutes walk. The tower and the town were truly a highlight of our trip.
Staying at Torre Moreschini was an amazing experience. In the heart of the Tuscan countryside - of which, you get an incredible view out the bedroom window - the tower is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the quieter side of Italian life.
Located in Montefollonico's tiny old town, the tower is close to a couple of classy restaurants, has nice walks that you can do, and can serve as a good base to explore the wider area, including other hillside towns. It is best accessible by car.
Andrea and his wife couldn't have been more awesome. They live just below and were incredibly helpful. We got stranded without a car in Florence (long story) and thought we'd have to cancel our tower stay, but Andrea was amazing, picking us up by car from the nearest train stop, Torrita di Siena, and dropping us off there when we left. I can't recommend his family and his tower enough. We look forwarding to visiting again another summer.
Andrea and Anna were wonderful hosts and the historic tower was an amazing and interesting place to stay in Tuscany! We enjoyed Montefollonico, its restaurants and nearby hiking trails.
What a wonderful experience we had here! The tower is beautiful and spacious, with amazing views of the Tuscan-hillside. There is also a garden with table and chairs to read, enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Andrea and his wife were incredible hosts, greetings us and making sure we felt comfortable in the space and the quaint town of Montefollonico.
I highly recommend staying here!
We had a wonderful and memorable time at Torre Moreschini. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed for much longer.
When we arrived in Montefollonico, Anna was outside ready to meet us and show us around the tower. Both her and Andrea speak English really well and were able to help us find our way around. They are kind and helpful and take great care of the property - we enjoyed getting to know them for the brief time we visited.
Staying in the tower was a fun adventure - it was a rare treat for our family to be able to stay in home built in the 13th century. The 2 bedroom apt is cozy, uncluttered, and tastefully decorated - it was comfortable for our family of 4. The beds were comfy and the view is spectacular. There are 2 very steep staircases to get the to apt - which our kids thought was very fun.
The town of Montefollonico is magical - we had dinner in town all 3 nights and just loved that we could walk home to the tower afterwards. The surrounding towns were fun to visit and there were a lot of hiking trails around to take advantage of.
Overall, I really can't say enough about how lucky we felt to find Andrea and Anna - staying in the tower was a real highlight in our trip to Italy.
