  • My husband and I had a wonderful time at Gladys and Bob's home. They are a lovely couple and the accommodations were very comfortable. The neighborhood is safe with lots of shops nearby and the subway is only one block away. Access to Manhattan is a breeze! We highly recommend this listing!

  • I stayed at the apartment for a week during a citytrip with my brother. It was my 2nd time in NYC; last time I stayed at a super tiny, crappy hotel in Manhattan. For way more money.
This was so much better! It's more like a home than a hotel. Everything was clean a well taken care of.
Big bed for 2 in the bedroom, livingroom with huge tv, comfortable couch and seperate bed (which was convenient for us, my brother and I each had our own bed).
Gladys left us fruit, cereal, breakfast muffins, jam etc. There's a big fridge to put your own food in.
Subway station 46th st is a 3-minute walk away and you're in midtown Manhattan in 20 minutes.
It's just great to come back here after a long and tiring day in the city.
We also really appreciated the fact that we could leave in the evening on our last day, since our flight home left at 12 'o clock in the evening. In a hotel you would've had to check out at 11 am, but we could still enjoy the city that day, come back to relax and freshen up and then leave. (there weren't any new guests coming that day so that's why)
All in all: great place, would definitely stay here again!

  • I cannot say enough nice things about Gladys and Bob and their hospitality. The accommodations were great, the access to NYC was simple and the neighborhood worked well for me and my 12-year-old daughter. Gladys was available regularly to answer questions and help us plan our trip. She stocked some items in the fridge and kitchen, and even gave us some gifts at the end of our stay for my daughter and the kids we were heading to visit in Tanzania. She has a genuine heart and a love for people - all making this a great place to stay.

  • This was the ideal place to stay during our trip to NYC. We have visited the city many times, but this was our first time staying in one of the outer boroughs, Astoria is a perfect neighborhood for visiting! It is a great combination of neighborhood life and city living. We wish we had allowed more time to tour the area and not just focus our stay on Manhattan! Besides a great neighborhood of shops and restaurants, our accommodations were perfect!

The king size bed was perfectly sized for us and our young daughter. There was a twin bed in the living room, that gave more sleeping space if it was needed. It was a very comfortable living area and was a great respite after a long day of sightseeing. We appreciate the ability to bring our own food when we vacation. We have food allergies and kids are picky eaters! Gladys and Bob were both so friendly and helpful, providing lots of information and parking assistance. We had driven and we were expecting a snow storm during our stay. They went above and beyond to give us all the help we needed! We have already decided this will be our first choice for lodging whenever we visit the city. We just hope they don't get so busy we won't be able to get the room!

  • Very kind and hospitable hosts; tidy place, a little frayed but completely comfortable. Good neighborhood, convenient and all in all, great!

  • Gladys & Bob are super nice, trustworthy and welcoming hosts. Me and my two sons loved being with them. It was very cold during our stay, so Bob lent his gloves to my youngest son. Gladys put something nice to eat or drink in our fridge almost every day. Good working wifi, plenty of towels, lovely beds, a cosy and comfortable house and three kisses (Dutch habit) when we said goodbye. Very good apartment!

  • It's a nice apartment and very close to the metro. It was very clean and with some brouchures and maps to make easyer or stay in NY. We only meet her, and she helps us a lot with information about the airports and how to move around the city.
    Thank you!

  • Great stay in Queens. Flight problems we experienced were handled skillfully and benevolently by our host, Gladys. Spending time with us while programming the TV was kind...overall a very enjoyable experience!
