Sea Grapes Beach House has a view of Indian River in front while having the oceanfront view in the back. There are five bedrooms with very comfortable beds with fresh linens and quilts. In December of 2022 we added a pool with a heater. Sea Grapes is close to the Sebastian Inlet Park, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge (bike or walk), and a 15 minute drive to the best restaurants in town. Be ready to feel like you are on your own private island.
The space
Our beach home is a pristine two story beach front home. Direct access to the Atlantic Ocean just fifty feet from the back door. Situated in Vero Beach with amazing ocean and riverfront views facing east and west to enjoy both Florida's sunset and sunrise!
Vero Beach is known as the gateway to the tropics. It is a wonderfully quaint area and also a prolific citrus producer. Absent are the high rises, that most beaches in South Florida have. The beach is mostly vacant and private. The fishing is known as some of the best in Florida. This home is on a narrow strip of land on the barrier island. The beach home is in a location that is surrounded by nature parks and preserves. This beach is a very active area for Giant Sea Turtle nesting. During certain times of the year, you may have the opportunity to see one. Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge is nearby and offers Sea Turtle walking tours. To witness these Gentle Giants directly on the beach lay their eggs, crawl slowly back to the ocean is an extraordinary experience! This occurs in June and July. There are extremely active turtle nesting sites on the beach directly adjoining the home.
The house is a 3000 square foot 2 story bungalow. The 2nd floor kitchen faces the inter-coastal waterway. From the dining room table you can view both the ocean and the inter-coastal waterway with a simple turn of your head. The spacious king master suite has a walk in closet, two vanities, separate shower, and a large soaking tub. There are two bedrooms on the western end of the second floor with a shared bathroom in between. The queen room has a walk out balcony facing the inter-coastal. The twin singles room has a window seat and double closet.
The first floor consists of a two car garage, a full bath, laundry area and an apartment. The downstairs apartment consists of a kitchenette, one queen bedroom and an office space as well as a living room with TV and wireless internet.
A two car garage is included as well as additional parking in the driveway. (Limited to three cars at all times enforced by the county) There is a sidewalk to accommodate bike riding and jogging along the river. We provide two beach cruisers. The historic jungle trail is just a few miles away. We are a mile away from the Sebastian inlet which holds one of the most famous surfing competitions. Local surfing lessons are available. The fishing pier, at the park is 800 feet long and is opened 24 hours a day for your fishing and walking enjoyment.
A word about weddings: We receive many requests to hold weddings at our properties. In September 2015, the county of Indian River, passed regulations prohibiting weddings or parties at single home residences. We have, however been able to accommodate several guests by having their wedding and reception at Sebastian Inlet State Park, about 1 mile north. The guests stayed at our home as well as a dear friend of mine, Debbie's Daisy Mae Beach home, which is only 1/3 mile away from my home. We can accommodate up to ten people at our home and she is able to accommodate eight at her home. If you would like to discuss this further you may reach out to me. Weddings and parties are prohibited in this county at vacation rental homes. The fine can be as much as $5,000. This fee is assessed and would be passed onto guests.

Be sure to provide your phone number, we use the last four digits as your key code. The home has electric locks.
We want to provide you with the wine of your choice, red or white. After booking, a contract will be emailed to the guest to fill out and return.
Other things to note
We welcome small dogs.
Because of insurance issues we can not take any breed or mixture of a breed that is on the aggressive breed list.
If a pet is approved, the fee is $300.
We will email a pet addendum which the guest can fill out and return.
