Inside The Home:

This is a ONE bedroom private home. All spaces inside are unshared. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed that will sleep 2. There is an air mattress available upon advance request at no extra charge. At around 800 total square feet this home is larger than a hotel stay but still on the smaller to side so I recommend (with air mattress) no more than 3 adults and one child. A $15 charge per day will be added for any more than 3 guests, adult or child.

Although many updates have occurred, this home was built in the 1940’s. As such, things can look “older.” As you’ll read in the reviews, the home is spotless however, sometimes elements of the home will show wear. The rub for example, is currently painted with ceramic paint that will sometimes chip off. At times the grout will be darker from wear. The floors are original wood showing age. Understand that the affordable rate also means this is not a flawless hotel.

The kitchen is sufficiently stocked with spices, coffee bar, refrigerator, dishes, dish soap and dish towels.

Things to note:

This home is a duplex. There is an additional attached unit on this property. The portion that is available to you is the front street facing portion. Towards the back is the other unit. This back unit is also an Airbnb listing so you may see other guests on the same property, but never in the same space other than maybe the driveway.

The neighborhood I would rate as a B or C due to the age and location. It is an older neighborhood. An example of what you may see include a few homes with unwatered grass and every now and then a people walking around. There is an elementary school directly across the street so it is a block with a lot of attention to safety. If you prefer being around new neighborhoods with new construction, new homes and new landscaping this may not be the house for you. Just one block West of this neighborhood is Old Van Ness area which is a historical area of town with big beautiful homes and is one of Fresno's most desirable neighborhoods.

Are you looking to stay long term? 3 weeks or longer? If so great! We love long term stays, however please be advised that the best time to book an extended stay is at least 6 months in advance. Please check our calendar... if the dates seem unavailable unfortunately they are.

Guest access
You have access to a full home. Feel free to cook in the full stocked kitchen. Pots/pans/silverware. Stove, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Host provides light breakfast and coffee. Bathroom has full size (older) bathtub. Full reclining love seat. Air mattresses are available if needed. 2 parking spaces, one in driveway and one on street. Driveway is RV friendly but there is plenty of street parking that is highly encouraged for RV’s.

Noise- There is a school across the street and train tracks halfway down the block. Although noise from either is rarely complained about, I thought it might be worth mentioning!

Ring Doorbell-For our safety and for yours, we do have one Ring Doorbell for this property. The Ring Doorbell can be found facing the parking space in the front of the home as well as monitoring who comes and goes from the home. Footage is recorded.

Policy on Pets- I gladly welcome all pets with a $35 per pet fee. This is to guarantee that all hair is taken care of for future allergy prone guests. Please notify me when booking your reservation :) No pets sleeping in beds or on couch please.

Neighborhood highlights

Old Fig Garden, one of Fresno's most beloved neighborhoods with great old Fresno charm is just a quick 2 minute walk directly West of the house. Once you hit the main road of Old Fig (Van Ness) you will see people walking or running and just enjoying the neighborhood with the many different activities. Summer weekends are full of estate sales. A Fresno favorite event called CartHop which features many of the best local food trucks along with a band or two can be seen every Friday and Saturday night. Catch a farmers market any day of the week in Fresno but closest walking distance would be the Friday Farmers market at Manchester Center and Wednesdays and Saturdays (a bit further) at Vineyard Farmers Market. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and Walmart all within a 5 minute drive. Local artisan coffee shops and ice cream parlors also within 4 minutes driving. Visit the Tower District's funky night scene any night of the week with it's bars and eateries. There are too many great stops to list but if you need extra info feel free to reach out to me!

Note: Fresno is experiencing massive restoration efforts in multiple areas. This home borders one of those efforts and falls between one of the nicest neighborhoods and another with a little more... mmmm, authenticity. You are safe in this home. There is a high school directly across the street. You may see people walking around at times or a person on a bike jamming with a boom-box every now and then. Other than that it's an older neighborhood with long standing occupants that wish to keep their neighborhood clean and safe.
