There was lots of detailed information from Tyler before I arrived. Clear directions and a friendly introduction to the space.
We had a great stay here! Tyler (and everyone else we had contact with) were helpful, prompt and friendly. The private entry made it a breeze to come and go at ease without disturbing other house members. Helpful info inside the room and the bathroom was just down the hall, easy to get to. The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood near food services and transit. The tip provided of checking out foundation was greatly appreciated by my vegan travel companion.
So this was my first time visiting Vancouver and I'm so glad I chose Hotel Manitoba! My favorite things about this place was location and the private entrance. The neighborhood is quiet but still so close to transportation and Main Street which was awesome. The private entrance gave me peace of mind that we weren't disturbing the people living there when we were coming and going at late hours of the night. I got to meet 3 of the roommates ( one was Tyler) and they were all friendly! Which was also very important. I honestly have no bad things to say about this place. It is perfect for a nice no frills stay in Vancouver and it's a very welcoming place. So I definitely recommend it:)
Tyler and the roommates were very welcoming. Room is just like the picture and the house is very well located. We walked to a bunch of things or grabbed a nearby bus. The house is clean and getting our own entrance and porch was a nice touch.
There was a lot of maps of attractions near Vancouver, also a one pager was posted to help you navigate the house - it was very helpful. This place is in a very quiet neighbourhood, there's a nice balcony with furniture just outside of the room where you can enjoy. It's a quick 10 min walk to the skytrain, very accessible. Linens were available, it was overall a very nice stay.
This was my first time using AirBnB and it was a complete pleasure.
The room is incredibly spacious, the bed very comfortable and the attached patio was great on the summer evenings.
Despite 4 other tenants at the property, it was always quiet and there was never any difficulty using the shared bathroom, kitchen or laundry facilities. It was almost like we had the whole house to ourselves!
Tyler was an awesome host making sure we were settled in and recommending some local points of interest then leaving us enjoy the privacy of the room thereafter.
Finally, the area felt really vibrant and had a lot going on. Mount Pleasant is just that. Green, residential and a nice feeling of community.
I unreservedly recommend anyone stay at 'Hotel Manitoba' if you are staying in Vancouver. I certainly will be looking to when I return to the city.
Tyler's place was great - it was very spacious and nicely furnished. I liked having a private entrance to the room through the back stairs and door to the house. It's also a convenient train ride from the airport. I didn't get to meet Tyler as he was away, but he was responsive via phone and text.
About the Host, Hotel Manitoba
We are three girls and a guy, all young professionals and students who love the area that we're in. We all like biking, hiking, skiing and most forms of outdoor activities so we have a wealth of knowledge to share with guests. If we aren't crazy busy we do like to have a few drinks and food with guests if they like, but we are also good at respecting space when needed.
We have a bit of a garden, free parking, a nice deck attached to the AirBnB room with a private entrance for our guests, spacious living room, two bathrooms and a lot of hospitality.
