Beautiful charming 1912 home in Seattle. One 10' x 14' private bedroom on first floor with queen bed. Share semi-private new bathroom with other guests (if any) (owner uses separate toilet and sink, but shares shower with guests). House has lots of light, landscaped backyard oasis with hot tub and hammock and heritage-status English Walnut tree. Kitchen facilities available, use of common areas and hot tub on backyard deck.
Close to the #16 and #48 buses (bus stop one block away).
Conveniently located near I-5 and near the Aurora Highway (Route 99).
1 1/2 blocks from the north end of Green Lake, with BluWater, Zeek's Pizza, Urban Bakery, Cioccholati Coffee, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, and Duke's Chowderhouse.
Green Lake is a state park with a 2.8 mile inner track circling the lake and green grass for playing and running and a kiddie pool in summer right across the street!
*** Exit #172 off the freeway = Very close to I-5, Rte. 99, and bus stop a block away. Near Ballard, Fremont, Lake City, Northgate, and University Districs. Seven miles from downtown and Capitol Hill, Queen Anne, Magnolia and Cascade. ***
Note: I have two very affectionate and well-behaved cats.
It's possible to accommodate up to two additional people with an upstairs back room with double futon. There's a skylight and the double back windows give a lovely view of the magnificent English Walnut and backyard.
Interaction with Guests
I'm a gregarious guy and like to hang out with visitors, but I also respect their privacy and interact only on a level at which they're comfortable.
Very close to Green Lake park and very conveniently located on a quiet non-through street.
I'm one block away from the closest bus stop, and two others are within 3 blocks.
Consideration for others is the name of the game! :)
(1) If you use something, put it back when you're done.
(2) Clean up after yourself (including, for example, hair in the bathroom).
(3) The cats are indoor only so just be careful when entering/exiting.
(4) Mark any food on shelves or in fridge with your initials.
(5) If you have a question about anything, ask away!
Bob was very kind and accommodating in letting me stay at his home on last minute's notice, though we really didn't get the chance to meet. The bed was comfy, and the neighborhood was very quiet for being so close to the bustle of Green Lake--walking distance to shops, restaurants and the local health food store. Lovely kitties, too!
The house is great. Good location, near the beautiful Green Lake Park and close to bus stops. Bob is an amazing host, very friendly and willing to go out of his way to help you. The bed is very nice, the bathroom clean, the kitchen fully equipped. I honestly wish I could have stayed more time.
We had a lovely time at Bob's house met his two nice cats! Bob is a fantastic nice host en we like to come back next year.
Bobs place was in a great location. Close to Green Lake on a quite beautiful street!
Bob is friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood is cool. Before booking this place make sure your not annoyed by cat smell.
Bob was a gracious host, very friendly. We felt welcomed in his home and our needs for quiet time were considered. The house is in a great neighborhood in Seattle and has an awesome back yard. It is a little bit of a funky house and I would recommend coming prepared for that experience. Like most older houses, sound travels well. Any comers here should love cats, because there are two very present male kitties living here.
Bob was very welcoming and really helped us out by approving our stay at the last minute. We were only in the house for one night, so we spent very little time there. House is in a great location...walking distance to a couple bus stops and Green Lake. A little disappointed with the cleanliness of the house and room (the room smelled like cats and mildew). Also did not realize the house was shared with several other AirBnB guests, giving it a hostel feel.
Brian, I wish you'd have said something about any odors - it's hard for someone who is used to cats to discern! I will always do my best to correct anything unpleasant -- especially a mildew smell (you're the first to mention this - can you be more specific about the location? I will double-check my basement to see if there's any indication of mold or mildew there that may have wafted up.) Please speak up next time! :)

Easy-going guy with great pets. Performer who stays pretty busy in and about the Seattle area. Gregarious sort of fellow who enjoys meeting new people from various destinations!
I like good food (you'll often smell my soups cooking on the stovetop), good conversation and good company. I occasionally host a game night that guests are invited to, if they are so inclined.
