Cottage is a stand-alone building on our 2-acre property overlooking beautiful October Mountain, part of the Appalachian Trail. It is attached to an unused horse barn, which still has two horse stalls and a tack room. The location is close to downtown Lenox but very quiet and private.
The cottage's porch leads to a large, open "great room" that feels very much like a ski lodge or cabin, with wide-plank wood floors and exposed beams. The great room has a dining table with 4 chairs, a bar with 3 stools, a cool mid-century orange sofa and 2 matching chairs and an entertainment unit with a TV and DVD player. There is also a ceiling fan for air circulation and a skylight that can be opened to allow air in and out (plus, it has an automatic shade, should you want to block the sun). We also have an air conditioner available for this room, should you need it.
Down a set of stairs is the second entry way, off of which is a NEWLY RENOVATED bathroom (see pic) with a heated tile floor, a roomy shower and a claw-foot tub. Also at the bottom of the stairs is a recently renovated open kitchen with all new appliances, a granite counter top and a "bar" with two stools. A gas heating unit sits just ouside the kitchen and can be used to heat the whole place, if necessary. Down the hall are two rooms, one of which is a bedroom with a queen bed and closet. We have a window air conditioner for this bedroom, though you are unlikely to need it. The second room has no door, which is why we don't consider this a "true" 2-bedoroom cottage; this room currently houses a free-standing linen cabinet and a bureau. This could be ideal for a crib, cot or air mattress for a baby or young child - someone who does not need privacy - but there is no bed. We have a queen air mattress that can be used in that room if you'd like. We also just installed new carpeting in the two bedrooms last year.
In addition, we have a washer and dryer for your use.
We have one dedicated parking spot for the cottage, but the driveway is large and can accommodate additional cars as needed - please let us know if you would need more than one spot.

Wow! I booked Ted's amazing cottage for my boyfriend's birthday weekend. This place was absolutely perfect — everything we wanted and more :) It had great amenities, complete privacy, and a lovely view. It's in a great location as well — close to the Lenox town area and 20 minutes from the very cute and quaint Great Barrington, where we spent most of our time.
Although we didn't have the opportunity to actually meet Ted, he was very responsive in making sure we had the best stay possible. Would definitely book here again the next time we visit!
We stayed at Ted's cottage in Lenox for our anniversary to get away from the city. The cottage is on a quiet country road and has a sweeping view of October Mountain. Our stay coincided with the peak of fall foliage so we were able to see some amazing color on the mountain. The cottage is well equipped with a nice kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. There are plenty of great spots to go hiking within a quick drive and then re-fuel at one of the many great restaurants in the area.
What a beautiful, charming place in a great location! We loved the yard and the views, and the whole place was very comfortable, well equipped, and tastefully decorated. Ted was also a very generous host. It was a terrific experience we will remember for a long time.
We had a wonderful time in Lenox! The house had plenty of room, a wonderful kitchen and a gorgeous front porch overlooking the mountains. The location is ideal, we were a quick drive to many different places in the Berkshires and since this was our first time in the area, that was important. Ted was a great host, the booking process was quick and he answered any and all questions I had just as promptly. I would highly recommend staying here if you're in the area!
Ted was exceptionally communicative and helpful to me in planning my long weekend in Lenox. My girlfriend and I were very comfortable in this cottage - it's exactly as it looks in the pictures, and the view from the front porch is spectacular. The house is 5 minutes outside both downtown Lenox and Lee, and 20ish minutes away from the towns of Stockbridge and Great Barrington. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking for a weekend (or longer) away in the Berkshires!
Friendly, welcoming hosts in a picturesque setting. They had everything we could have needed for a perfect weekend escape. This is absolutely at the top of my list anytime I'm looking for my next adventure in the Berkshires!
Our original lodging fell through the night before we were supposed to leave for the Berkshires. We found Ted's place and sent a request, unsure if we would hear back in time. We were so pleased to have a response in about 15 minutes! We found it easily and it was perfectly cozy and comfortable. Ted even brought over some paper and a pen after we couldn't find any in our car, and he included some prosecco, too! Great place to get away, watch a movie, turn up the fireplace, and relax! Thanks!
