About This Listing
Our home in South Austin is on a quiet street about 7 miles or so from downtown next to a 165 acre nature preserve. We have two dogs, a cat and a chicken
Your room is on the second floor of our open and sunny home. A queen bed awaits you for restful sleep. The floors are made of locally harvested reclaimed wood and made by Stephen and I!
While here, feel free to use the front yard, back yard or any common spaces in the home.
We are in a quiet neighborhood just yards from a 160 acre nature preserve with seasonal ponds, native fields and groves!
It takes about 25 minutes or less to ride a bike downtown or the 238/338 bus which is one block away or drive it in about 20 minutes.
Emily and Stephen are great! even with power outage they provided a lovely candle-lit experience. + breakfast!!? AWESOME. what a valuable life experience we were all able to share!! thank you!
Emily was amazingly fast in communication. I had to stay overnight in Austin last minute, and she accepted my request super last minute and quickly, and let me check in within a hour and a half of my reservation request! Not that that might always be possible, but it was a huge gift for me, being very tired and wanting to stay over last minute. Emily was working, but her husband Stephen met me and showed me the ropes, made me feel at home, gave me some sparkling water! I was so happy!! There was a rough storm that night, and I left something in my car, only to forget to bring the entry code, so I had to call Emily late to get it! She was totally cool about that too. Not to say that that will always be cool, but I was quite appreciative of the flexibility, considering my situation. The area is super artsy, and its' close to a nature preserve, which I enjoyed walking around in. I will definitely stay there again if I need to.
Emily and Stephen have a wonderful home and were very accommodating during our one week stay for SXSW. Their home was very tidy and gave us great convenience as it is only 15 minutes south of Austin (way more available than where I stayed in Round Rock last year). They offered us pretty much anything and everything in their fridge, and even surprised us with a full breakfast one morning. If you have business in or near Austin and are traveling as a single or duo party I'd definitely recommend you give their place a shot!
Emily and Stephen were very friendly and welcoming. I needed help using the Austin public transit and they went above and beyond to help me navigate. Also provided food for breakfast.
The home was generally quiet and relaxed. I'm good with animals but if you're not okay with a cat or dogs this isn't the place for you.
-difficult to get back from downtown Austin using public transit (buses stop around 10 or midnight)
-other guests may be staying at the same time
Emily was wonderful! The room was adorable! I would definitely recommend anyone staying here. The location was perfect for all of the great places that South Austin has to offer.
