The chalet is a warm and comfy place to relax, cool off, hike/bike a trail or two, enjoy long-range views(elevation is 3,383 feet - Mt Mitchell is 6,683), listen to some good music, sip your favorite drink, and rejuvenate your soul.

Roaring Fork Chalet has paved roads that are all well-maintained. The mountain roads are curvy, and the subdivision is steep in parts. No four-wheel drive is needed to get to the chalet except in the winter months.

Dog accepted with/ prior approval (fee applies).

The space
Roaring Fork Chalet is named after the 200-foot waterfall that is located down the mountain behind the chalet. In the winter, you can hear the waterfall, and the relaxing effects are something only Mt Mitchell can bring to you.

The chalet was built in the early 1980s and still maintains some of that classic 80s style, decor, and charm. It features modern amenities, including smart TVs, Firesticks, a new HVAC system, endless hot water, fast Wi-Fi, new appliances, and super-comfortable linens.

It has a loft king bedroom with a locally grown and handcrafted red cedar king-size log bed. In the mornings, you wake up to a beautiful view of Mt. Mitchell and the vast valley below.

This area in the Blue Ridge Mountains is known as Appalachia and has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The area also hosts gorgeous waterfalls, clean rivers, and awesome hiking trails, and is home to 6 of the 10 highest peaks in the Eastern US.

Due to the potential of wild animals, we DO NOT HAVE A BBQ GRILL.

Please LIKE us on social media at Roaring Fork Chalet.

Early check-in fee is $20 (If available and pre-approved).

Bring your dog too! A dog fee plus taxes applies for your entire stay. Maximum of two dogs, please. With prior approval only.

The US Forest Service has reopened the following trails:
- Carolina Hemlock Campground
- Murray Branch Picnic Area
- Stackhouse Boat Launch
- Big Butt Trail (all the way to the BRP)
- Roaring Fork Falls Trail
- Colbert Ridge Trail
- Woody Ridge
- Black Mountain Crest Trail (from Bowlen's Creek Rd to Deep Gap).

Come spend time where time stands still.

Guest access
Local hiking trails, waterfalls, privacy, a small electric outdoor grill, an outdoor table with chairs, a fire pit, and a great view of the peak of Mt. Mitchell from the front deck are all available.

Please note that if you reserve the chalet during the winter months, there are no refunds for acts of nature (ice/snow). We do our best to keep the roads clear, but sometimes that takes time.

Please be aware that MOTORCYCLES, CAMPERS, BOATS, AND/OR TRAILERS are NOT ALLOWED PER HOA RESTRICTIONS.

The home and grounds are entirely yours during your stay. Enjoy the house, fire pit area, trails, woods, and the neighborhood.

This is a complete home on its land, with no homeowner on the premises to disturb you or your privacy. There are no shared yards, patios, or other areas! It's an entire home just for you, not an apartment, duplex, guest house, or tiny house.

You are reserving with a caring, local owner, and your well-being is our full-time concern.

We are committed to providing you with an unforgettable experience at our vacation homes. We have 20 years of ★★★★★ Five-Star reviews (currently found here as well as on other listing sites).

Upon your confirmed reservation, a "Welcome Packet" link will be sent to you. Your Welcome Packet will provide the address, check-in/check-out instructions, door entry codes, WiFi codes, house and property information, and local suggestions of things to experience.

Please respect the neighbors and clean up after yourselves and your dog.

Guests are emailed an entry code to a keyless touchpad locking system before arrival. There is no need to visit an office to pick up keys!

Other things to note
Please note that we provide linens, toilet paper, and paper towels.

Winter: Please be aware that we experience snow. The HOA does a great job of keeping the roads cleared, but they only do so after the snow stops. Therefore, please be mindful of the weather and the potential for snowy conditions. Plan your trip accordingly.

Pet Policy:
* Dog fees are extra and are charged per night, plus taxes.
* A maximum of two dogs are allowed, with prior approval.
* The owner and/or their representatives reserve the right to deny any dog for any reason.

Please note that only dogs are permitted. We apologize, but due to allergies, we cannot accommodate cats, rabbits, birds, mice, elephants, zebras, horses, cattle, bees, or any other animals besides dogs. While we love animals, we are unable to make exceptions.

Security:
* There is a camera located near the basement door on a motion-activated floodlight. This allows us to monitor the weather and the parking area during guest departures.
* The cleaning service can access the chalet for cleaning if guests check out before 10 AM.
