Gingerhill Farm welcomes you to five acres of organic orchards and lush gardens nestled just above famous Kealakekua Bay. We offer beauty and serenity mere minutes away from local restaurants, cafes and shops. Incredible ocean and sunset views!

The space

Located in the main house, the Sunset Suite is a large room with private bath. It has a Queen and Twin bed. Step onto the back patio and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire farm.

Guest access

Take a stroll through our gardens and then marvel at the sunset from one of various scenic decks. Hike down to Kealakekua Bay and swim with the Dolphins. Gingerhill Farm offers an exotic escape from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living.

Other things to note

In our commitment to promoting transparency we would like to say that there is more to sustainable agriculture than whether you use chemical fertilizer or organic pellets. Here at Gingerhill Farm we heed our role as stewards of the land and commit to practices which improve the health of our acreage year after year. This means we spray no insecticides or herbicides. It also means that in Hawaii, a subtropical island, we experience intervals of mosquito or termite pressure. Resonant Coqui frogs, native to Puerto Rico, sing at night and sound like crickets. We consider these players as part of our ecosystem, and strive to maintain a balance. Our grounds are beautiful and fertile, partly tamed and partly wild. We ask that guests understand these dynamics and book accordingly.

My friends and I loved this beautiful, peaceful, and scenic farm outside of Kona. Zach met us upon arrival and showed us around and gave some advice about local places to eat. The grounds of the farm are incredible, and just fun to walk around. Enjoyed the light forest noises in the evening and morning. The room was just as described, clean, and well-kept. The outdoor shower was a nice touch. We loved our stay and would definitely be back! Notes: The room has a fan for cooling, which was fine for our group, but someone needing a/c might want to look elsewhere. Also, the farm is located a bit outside town (about 15-20 min), so that should be a consideration for those looking to be closer to the bars and nightlife.

Lovely property to get a feel for Hawaiian country living! We enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of nature each night. Iris was a pleasure and very responsive and Zach made us a green juice in the morning.

The place is magical and has the most incredible view. Iris and Zack were wonderful hosts, and I highly recommend their farm as a non-traditional place to stay on the island. Hot tub under the stars is amazing, as is the outdoor shower and grounds. The room is not luxurious, but comfortable and clean. You have a millionaires view of the water.

I came to Ginger Hill with a desire to be in nature, relax and renew. I got this and more from Mayumi, Iris & Zach and the rest of the Ginger Hill family. My stay was the perfect combination of community and privacy. The garden and farm are beautiful and fascinating, particularly if you’re interested in sustainability. Be sure to take in the sunset from the deck or gardens. They’re simple incredible!

Absolutely beautiful home and grounds with an awesome outdoor shower and an incredible ocean view. Close and convenient to everything in the Captain Cook area -- a short day trip to the black sand beach, the green sand beach or snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay. The hosts were kind and friendly -- we had a great chat and I joined them for their morning meditation. We had fresh papayas and green juice for breakfast and they shared some of their favorite beaches to go to. Highly recommend!
