House - Private room · Carrer de Canals, Sóller, Balearic Islands 07100, Spain

One of two available rooms.Ensuite double in annexe of 16th-century palacio in centre of Soller, with garden and pool. 1-min walk to main plaza. 30 mins walk to the beach at Port Sóller, or 15 minutes by the historic tram. 3-night minimum stay in summer.

The Space

Beautiful, bright, newly restored double on the second floor in the annexe to our main house, a palacio with a lush garden and pool in the centre of Sóller. The ensuite downstairs is also available should there be four of you. If you just book the one room, you might bump into delightful fellow airbnbers from time to time in the garden who are also staying. Lit by two windows and two skylights.

Guest Access

Use of our garden and pool. There's wifi, though bear in mind the old walls are thick and you might have to wander about a bit to pick up signal. If you're staying for a week, you can use our washer and dryer and we can register you as a temporary Soller resident, giving you discount on tram and train (1 euro instead of 5). Also, despite the "bnb" we don't provide breakfast - but there are plenty of great places on the nearby square,

Interaction with Guests

We're here in our own house, nextdoor if you require anything and we're happy to give you a crash course in what to do and where to go. Access to the room is through the vast entrance hall in the main house.

The Neighborhood

The house is less than a minute walking to the buzzing main square, packed with bars and restaurants, and 30 seconds to the tram and train station. You can walk to the beach in about 40 minutes or take the tram. There are beautiful walks on the edge of town and to the surrounding villages (Deia and Fornalutx). All the shops and the supermarket within walking distance. Market day is Saturday.

Getting around

Stunning train to Palma (1 hour) or bus (30 mins). If you're arriving at Palma airport after 6.30pm, though, you'll miss the last bus/train. To port by tram in 15 mins. Bus to Deia 15 mins. You can happily stay here without the need to rent a car, though you might consider this option if you want to discover more of the island. Parking is free on the main road (ten-mins walk). There is an excellent bike rental shop nearby.

Other Things to Note

We have three endearing cats who often sun themselves in the garden, so if you don't like animals or are allergic, steer clear. Likewise, homophobes should look elsewhere. We're Barry and Pablo (see profile) and are lively, engaging hosts with a wealth of knowledge to share with you if you like.

  • Apartment is in a classic and renovated house with very large rooms, in an extremely convenient location, steps away from town centre and railway station. Hosts, expats of long standing, were very friendly and helpful, particularly in making our arrangements and getting us there and around. Their website is a good guide to the area. Free parking is available on the street, a 15 minute walk away; there is a place to perch next door while luggage is transferred. Unconditionally recommended.

  • A little oasis in Sòller! We felt more than welcome and at home in Barry and Pablo's house. There is a good atmosphere, a good place to escape the city and to relax. They created a lovely garden where you and their cats can hang out! Barry told us a lot about Sòller and gave us a lot of tips. Definitely a place to go back to during summer time! We wish you both all the best!
