One of two available rooms.Ensuite double in annexe of 16th-century palacio in centre of Soller, with garden and pool. 1-min walk to main plaza. 30 mins walk to the beach at Port Sóller, or 15 minutes by the historic tram. 3-night minimum stay in summer.
Beautiful, newly restored double room on first floor in the annexe to our main house, a palacio with a lush garden and pool in the centre of Sóller. The ensuite upstairs is also available should there be four of you. If you just book the one room, you might bump into delightful fellow airbnbers from time to time in the garden who are also staying.
Use of our garden and pool. There's wifi, though bear in mind the old walls are thick and you might have to wander about a bit to pick up signal. If you're staying for a week, you can use our washer and dryer. Fridge and kettle shared with other airbnb room, but not us. Also, despite the "bnb" we don't provide breakfast - but there are plenty of places on the nearby square.
Interaction with Guests
We're here in our own house, nextdoor if you require anything and we're happy to give you a crash course in what to do and where to go. Access to the room is through the vast entrance hall in the main house and then through garden.
The house is less than a minute walking to the buzzing main square, packed with bars and restaurants, and 30 seconds to the tram stop and train station. You can walk to the beach in about 40 minutes or take the tram. There are beautiful walks on the edge of town and to the surrounding villages (Deia and Fornalutx). All the shops and the supermarket within walking distance.
Stunning train to Palma (1 hour) or bus (30 mins). If you're arriving at Palma airport after 6.30pm, though, you'll miss the last bus/train. To port by tram in 15 mins. Bus to Deia 15 mins. You can happily stay here without the need to rent a car, though you might consider this option if you want to discover more of the island. Parking is free on the main road (ten-mins walk)
Other Things to Note
We have three endearing cats who often sun themselves in the garden, so if you don't like animals or are allergic, steer clear. We're a gay couple, so likewise, homophobes should look elsewhere. We're Barry and Pablo (see profile) and are lively, engaging hosts with a wealth of knowledge and books to share with you if you like.
Common sense. Don't leave the front door open. Don't make noise in the garden after midnight as we have neighbours. Make yourself at home!
The place is a little oasis right in the middle of the old town of Soller, very close to where the train from Palma arrives. When you step out of the door you´re just a few steps away from all the cafes and tapas bars and sweet little shops, but once you are inside you find yourself inside a loveley little garden with beautiful trees and a small pool - just as shown on the pictures.
Barry and Pablo were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and helpful. They´ve been living there for many years so they had great recommendations for nice not-so-touristy bars and cafes (don´t miss the bakery FRAU).
We stayed in the lower room (the one on the first floor) which has airconditioning and a huge bathroom that actually has an oriental hamam feel to it. The room goes onto the lane so of cause you hear some traffic noise as you would expect right in the middle of town. But unobtrusive really.
The two rooms that are being let out are in a separate part of the builing so you really have your own space. Right now Barry and Paplo are building little kitchen that will be exclusively for the use of their guests.
We had a wonderful stay - thank you so much guys!
Sehr gerne wieder!
We received a warm welcome, got all the help we needed and the room including bathroom was just perfect. A small heating helped us to get our freezing feet back to normal. We also spent a very funny evening together, when we sat down, had a drink and Barry gave us a tour through the building. Muchas Gracias
We stayed for a biking weekend in December for only 2 nights and enjoyed the area around Sóller very much. The accommodation is perfectly located in the centre of Sóller, not far away from the main square, supermarket and some good tapas restos. Barry, Pablo and the cats have been great hosts, helpful with recommendations and available whenever we had questions. We felt quite at home. The house itself is tasteful decorated and the garden is beautiful. The room is spacious with colorful tiles. The small kitchen in the separate house is still in work, but there is a fridge and a water cooker to use. The shower is marvelous. All in all five stars. Especially in summer/spring it's the perfect place in a beautiful area.
Myself and my partner Robin had a wonderfully relaxing stay at Barry and Pablo's extraordinary place.
We had the entire annex to ourselves, with a very large and comfortable bedroom and a marble bathroom with an amazing shower. We made ourselves at home downstairs in the living area of the annex, with it's fabulous antique sofa. The garden provided a lush backdrop to our stay.
The location was perfect, two minute walk from the train station and a two minute walk to the main square, which was great as Robin was on crutches. There are also plenty of lovely bars and cafes to choose from and the tram down to Puerto de Soller runs from the train station.
Barry and Pablo were very accommodating and friendly and we would highly recommend staying there and hope to return ourselves some day.
A stunning home, hosted by beautiful people. Barry and Pablo couldn't have been better hosts - and after just 2 nights I leave feeling they are close friends.
The town is beautiful, with plenty of gorgeous walks. The Tram to the port is stunning. And everything is on your doorstep :) perfecto! X

We're Barry (from Ireland) and Pablo (from California). We're especially happy to host people with interests in art history, history, culture, decorative arts and so on. One of is is a medievalist, journalist and translator, the other an interior decorator. We are knowledgeable about Mallorca (see our website contemporarybalears). Note we have two cats who sometimes sun themselves in the shared garden so if you're allergic, this house is probably not for you!
