About this listing
One of two available rooms.Ensuite double in annexe of 16th-century palacio in centre of Soller, with garden and pool. 1-min walk to main plaza. 30 mins walk to the beach at Port Sóller, or 15 minutes by the historic tram. 3-night minimum stay in summer.
Beautiful, newly restored double room on first floor in the annexe to our main house, a palacio with a lush garden and pool in the centre of Sóller. The ensuite upstairs is also available should there be four of you. If you just book the one room, you might bump into delightful fellow airbnbers from time to time in the garden who are also staying.
Use of our garden and pool. There's good wifi. If you're staying for a week, you can use our washer and dryer. Fridge and kettle shared with other airbnb room, but not us. Also, despite the "bnb" we don't provide breakfast - but there are plenty of places on the nearby square.
Interaction with Guests
We're here in our own house, nextdoor if you require anything and we're happy to give you a crash course in what to do and where to go. Access to the room is through the vast entrance hall in the main house and then through garden.
The house is less than a minute walking to the buzzing main square, packed with bars and restaurants, and 30 seconds to the tram stop and train station. You can walk to the beach in about 40 minutes or take the tram. There are beautiful walks on the edge of town and to the surrounding villages (Deia and Fornalutx). All the shops and the supermarket within walking distance.
Stunning train to Palma (1 hour) or bus (30 mins). If you're arriving at Palma airport after 6.30pm, though, you'll miss the last bus/train. To port by tram in 15 mins. Bus to Deia 15 mins. You can happily stay here without the need to rent a car, though you might consider this option if you want to discover more of the island. Parking is free on the main road (ten-mins walk)
Other Things to Note
We have three endearing cats who often sun themselves in the garden, so if you don't like animals or are allergic, steer clear. We're a gay couple, so likewise, homophobes should look elsewhere. We're Barry and Pablo (see profile) and are lively, engaging hosts with a wealth of knowledge and books to share with you if you like.
Common sense. Don't leave the front door open. Don't make noise in the garden after midnight as we have neighbours. Make yourself at home!
Geweldig genoten van ons verblijf in het prachtige huis van pablo en Barry
We had a great stay with Barry and Pablo, charming and hospitable hosts, in their lovely home in Soller. We felt welcome from the moment of our arrival and they proved very knowledgable hosts, with many good suggestions and recommendations to visit during our stay. The palacio itself is very beautiful, comfortable and ideally situated for exploring Soller and the surrounding countryside. We look forward to returning.
Barry's home is a little heaven in the heart of Soller! Everything perfect!!! Thank you!!!
It was a somewhat surreal experience stepping off the streets of Soller, in the midst of the hustle and bustle of a vibrant market day and into the peace and tranquility of Barry and Pablo's historic palace. Beauty was to be found in every corner, a challenge to the mind, body and soul, jostling for centre stage in a bid to soak up the richness of both the history and the present of this extraordinary environment.
Eager to free ourselves of our heavy bags, we arrived early. Pablo and Barry made us feel immediately welcome, offering us the serenity of their garden, with its hidden seating areas, lemon trees and so much more. If we fancied a swim a pile of colourful towels sat, invitingly, tempting us to take the plunge.
As guests in Pablo and Barry's house we enjoyed our own sitting room with a comfortable antique sofa and interesting publications. Our room was spacious with an attractive floor of handmade ceramic tiles. The furniture with its smooth inverted curves stood elegant and proud.
When time allowed, we were able to indulge in conversation, piecing together a little of the rich tapestry of our lives. How I enjoyed our conversation and how I hope to one day return and share a little more. Thank you Barry and Pablo for this most special of experiences and for the openness of both your hearts and minds.
Barry and Pablo were two greats hosts, really flexible. Their place is definitely the best accommodation we have had in majorca since both the location and the House itself are PERFECT
thanks a lot !
Our host, Pablo, was there to welcome us, show us around, and asked if we had any questions.
The description of the place was accurate.
The neighborhood was fantastic and the air bnb home was right in the heart of the village.
