As the title says: it's a triple A apartment! A great place, full of light, spacious and with a nice view! At a good location in Amsterdam. From the airport Schiphol you just take a train for 10 minutes and then a tram for 7 minutes or a quick taxi ride and then you're here already! So perfectly close to the airport and the (touristic) centre of the city.
The apartment is west of the centre and a bit west of the beautiful Jordaan area. The Jordaan area is the first area build outside of the canal belt and it's famous for its little streets, many canals, shops, boutiques, typical Dutch pubs & restaurants and of course the famous Anne Frank museum next to the Westerkerk (western church). It takes 15 minutes to walk to the Jordaan and walking to the Dam Square from the apartment would take about 30 minutes, which is a nice walk through the Jordaan and the canal belt, but we don't really talk about "walking distance" here, we talk about cycling distance! Do as the Dutch do and go ride your bicycle! Cycling to the dam square would only take between 10 to 15 minutes. Also a tram passes nearby the apartment, taking a tram to the dam square would also only take 10 minutes.
The apartment is near supermarkets (Albert Heijn), other shops and many restaurants.
There are 3 bedrooms which you can see in the pictures, all with a nice 2-person bed. Bedding / Bed linen are provided! If you are with more than 6 people i will put an inflatable mattress in the apartment so another 2 people could sleep there. Furthermore there's wifi, a nice hot shower, laundry machine and kitchen with stove, microwave and oven available for you as well. Besides a main fridge in the kitchen there's another spare fridge in case you want to cool more products. On one side of the apartment there is a nice green view and you'll see some other apartments and on the other side of the apartment is a street and also some trees to give a nice green view. Bedroom number 2 also functions as a living room.
I'm a very international guy and work in tourism so i can give you great recommendations on what to do in Amsterdam, i might have some time (not guaranteed though!) as well to show you around a bit! (only if you'd be interested!) So if you stay here you won't only have a great apartment at a good location in Amsterdam, you'd also have a guide which will offer you a great insight in the Dutch life and who can give you the best recommendations of what to do in Amsterdam!
If you're interested in visiting one or a few of the many famous museums in Amsterdam (Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank museum, Hermitage museum, Rijks museum, Stedelijk museum, Rembrandt museum, NEMO science museum, Maritime / Sailing museum, etc!) Let me know because i can sometimes arrange unique discounts and skip the lines possibilities for a few people!
Another nice plus of staying at my place is that i've recently bought a boat! So i'd like to take you around on the canals of Amsterdam, through the picturesque Jordaan neighborhood, the canal belt and the former moat of the city. pass by the biggest bicycle parking garage you'll every see, pass by the central train station, into the old center past the only remaining Catholic church in the old center, which now has the honorary title of "basilique" of Saint Nicolas, and pass by the oldest church "the old church", go on the Amstel river with its lovely lit up bridges, past some dancing houses and into a cute side canal before heading back through some more of the remarkable canal belt. Either during the day when you can see everything or maybe even at night when the water gets calmer and the reflection of the lights on the water is astonishing. And this can all be done in combination with some beer or wine or another beverage, food/snacks and some nice music. Of course i would charge something to cover my time, the fuel, maintenance, other costs and so on for the boat but don't worry it's not too much and it's definitely worth it!
To find out how to reach the apartment you can use a website called 9292 . nl There you can write down where you are (for example the airport's train station "Schiphol station") to anywhere and you can state a certain departure or arrival time and the website will tell you exactly what your itinerary is!
There is car parking right in front of the house but it costs 2,40 per hour to park! At night and on Sunday parking is for free. Parking is quite pricey everywhere in Amsterdam. Though there are parking garages in the area called "P & R" and there you can park your car for a lower rate, if you're lucky 1 euro per day.
You can buy a Dutch sim card if you want to call and or use mobile internet (3g) here, i'd recommend Lebara, you can get a Lebara sim card for free and you can then pay 10 euros to get calling credit (very low rates) and you can also buy 1GB of high speed mobile internet (3g) for just 10 euros. There's a shop nearby the apartment that sells this.
Note: if you want to stay longer than a week then send me a message to inform about what kind of discount i could offer you. Also usually i have a minimum stay of 4 nights, if you want to stay less long then again: send me a message and we'll see what can be arranged.
I'm looking forward to receiving your inquiry and hosting you here!
Oh and before sending a reservation request please send a message / inquiry first :) it sometimes happens that i'm in the middle of a conversation with a potential guest and then the dates get blocked because i receive a reservation request from someone else whereas i like to discuss things first before sending a pre approval or before wanting to receive a reservation request.
Also be aware that you do have to climb some stairs to reach the apartment, there's no elevator in the building.
