ahhh the Food! Parisians say “you’ll eat well in the Perigord”! This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. (Truffle Markets are open in Winter!) It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other Canard specialty dishes. Our guests have often said that the best meal they ate!
Step back in time to the old France of farms and castles and caves and stone villages!

Renata & Larry were exceptional hosts and we were happy with everything about our stay - ideal location, sparkling clean cottage, lovely garden, and many thoughtful details. It exceeded our expectations. We consider ourselves lucky to have stayed in this lovely French cottage and to have met our delightful hosts. We highly recommend the cottage, and look forward to returning.
We had a great time at Larry's house. It was quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to recharge mid way into our travels. The market town of Sarlat was a easy drive and there was plenty to do and see in and around the area. The figs and walnuts straight from Larry's trees were an added (and delicious) bonus! Larry himself was a warm and gracious host with a wealth of knowledge about the attractions in his region. Highly recommend a stay there if you are passing his way.
We look forward to welcoming our guests with a glass of homemade walnut wine! We have been living here for 12 years, and love the area so much that we enjoy sitting with our guests and giving them tips about where to go to really enjoy their time here in Dordogne.
We love to watch movies, and have an extensive DVD collection for our guests.
We also enjoy good wine and food, and have enjoyed many an evening sitting outside with our guests recanting stories.
We want everyone to leave here feeling like they have had a real French experience and that this is their house in France.
