We had a wonderful time getting to know Claire, Clive and their son, Oliver.
We immediately felt at home and enjoyed a great breakfast with lots of variety. Claire and Clive spent a lot of time helping us figure out where to go and what to see.
Claire, her husband and their charming son made me very welcome in their comfortable house. They are most pleasant hosts in a wonderful location at the gateway to the lakes. I can whole heartedly recommend them to any would be airbnb'ers.
Claire, Clive and their son made me feel very welcome - always happy to chat, but not overbearing. Lovely people, I'll definitely stay here again on future visits.
Very comfortable, spacious room, nice bathroom and a lovely kitchen/diner.
Claire and family made me very welcome, stay couldn't have been better. Thank you!
Claire was a lovely host and communicated well and responsively with me before my stay.
The room was fine - very comfortable bed, blackout curtains - I slept well. Sharing a bathroom with the family was ok for a night, but did feel a bit like a kid again, back living with my parents and agreeing bathroom schedules in advance!
I arrived a little late in the evening (9pm) and Claire was welcoming, showed me to my room, left me to unpack and make calls, then offered me refreshments when I came downstairs.
A lovely family, fab location, very reasonable rate, highly recommended.
Excellent hosts, lovely family! Good value and the house is just outside Kendal, which has an easy access to Windermere (and the lake district from there) by road. The size of the room is very good and it was in a quiet area so you can have good sleep. Good choice of breakfast.
About the Host, Claire
I used to windsurf, orienteer, hike, bike and sail. Haven't quite got back into any of these since 'Junior' came along! Life is full of new activities now, giving the little guy age appropriate adventures! This year WILL see us get onto the hills with him though and maybe even into a sail boat! We were skiing this winter in France and he loved it!
Life is not complete without real coffee, Earl Grey tea (at different times of the day!), meeting up with my girlfriends, libraries and my little boy!
This will be our first year as hosts, and we are also house swappers. So we are easy going, or so we think!
