Dance studio for rent!
Mirrors everywhere!

This is my dance studio where I dance. It has mirrors all over the wall, a little terrace that looks out to the garden and is HUGE.

Currently has no bed frames, but there are several mattresses that can be added to it. If you don't mind sleeping on the floor, this room can well fit 6-8 people, all on separate mattresses.

Located between city center and Riv Lez
10 minutes walk to SNCF train station
15 minutes walk to center
20 minutes drive to the beach or 35 minutes by bike along Lez

VERY SUNNY and bright!

Check In

  • I intially paid for 2 nights, but eventually stayed a whole week. Everything was fine.

This being the low season (NOV) there were not too many guests (in the other rooms), in fact I had the whole flat to myself most of the time. The flatmates that I did have for 2-3 days were all very decent people.

I also had the 'good karma' to have met and conversed with Jen, who was initially a bit nervous, but soon turned out to be great fun to be with. (I think she had recently had guests who were troublemakers, and needed some time to reassure herself that I was not of that kind!)

My understanding is that Jen has a busy professional life and really does not need any complications with untidy or unfriendly guests. So long as you bring some 'good vibes' along you can count on Jen to give you good vibes in return and help you have a pleasant stay.

When it comes to Airbnb type of accomodation in general, I would say that potential guests placing a booking need to understand that their experience will depend on the time of year and day of the week, and obviously what sort of flatmates Lady Luck may bring them. Also it is important to understand that at 20-30 EUR per night, you are not going to have staff to attend to your needs, and in cases where you are not paying the 'cleaning fee' it goes without saying that you are expected to clean after yourself.

In case the host is not there at the time of your check in you may need to figure out things for yourself, but it's usually no rocket science. For instance if the radiator is cold you may need to open it yourself by rotating the valve anticlockwise, and rotating the knob on the water heater clockwise. It's not a hard thing to do, believe me!

In brief, I was content with the facilities, and also enjoyed Jen's company and very intresting conversation! I am going to settle down in Montpellier, and I consider Jen one of my new local friends.

  • A came with 3 friends and we were quiet disappointed about the accommodation and Jen.
The room was clean and there were enough mattresses for everybody but we booked for 4 and only had one big blanket. She advised us by mail before but I still don't find it ok. The location is relatively convenient.
And for the rest, I totally agree with the post of Halie (another host in Jen's house) : We also never spoke with Jen. "The context was a strange, because as far as I could tell, it was a room in an apartment that was entirely rented out. When I entered into the main hallway, I wasn't sure if I was entering Jen's house, and there was another person there who had rented the other room. He was very sweet, but the whole situation felt a bit strange. Also, there was a bit of a disconnect in Jen's communication. The house rules and instructions were long and extremely detailed ("flush the toilet") yet when I tried to double check that I was doing the check in correctly by calling or texting Jen I didn't get much of a response. Again, the room was just fine and it all went smoothly in the end. The feeling was just overall a bit strange."
Not sure if I really would recommend Jen's place. At least, the price is ok...

    Response from Jen:

The blanket situation was fully disclosed to the guests BEFORE she decided to book the room, for one night. It was the beginning of the change of the season and it was hard to know how many thick quilts should be prepared( I had 3 throws and 1 double bed big quilt prepared) but either way the guest fully knows the situation AND THEN decides to book the room. So it shouldn't have come off as a surprise to her. And for the cheap price offered for just one night of stay, I believe it was reasonable. Thanks!

  • The apartment is like a
Backpackers. Host relatively easy to contact. Close enough to town to walk. Free parking was great, good and easy option.

  • Everything was great. Affordable price for a place to crash, brilliant for students.

  • Just as listed, we had a pleasant stay. Everything was quite clean for just a night, my boyfriend and I were comfortable. It was about a 15 minute walk from the Gare SNCF.

  • We (4 people) had an awesome stay in Montpellier. Jen was very friendly and helped us with a lot of things. We spontaneously stayed another night, which wasn't even a problem. We would love to return :)! Thanks for having us!
