The Volker Nest is close to restaurants, family-friendly activities, nightlife, and the K.U. Medical Complex. It is cozy, has fun views, and is private. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. It is on a second floor and is accessed by a flight of steps. Full kitchen with stove and refrigerator, toaster, pans and dishes. If you are traveling a lot or stay awhile you are welcome to use the clothes washer and dryer. It's in the basement but not too difficult.
The space
The private entry, and porch, along with a fully equipped kitchen, and private full bath make this a very desirable space. The desk in the bedroom will access wifi, and the television has cable. There is coffee, tea and filtered water available. My roommate sleeps on the third floor and works night, so may be heard walking above the bedroom or seen coming and going on the steps.
Guest access
Guests have a private room, bathroom and kitchen, but laundry is shared by owner. There is also an adjoining room that is perfect for yoga or light exercise. Have coffee on your private porch or walk to a cafe 3 blocks away. I also have an art studio that is sometimes used to house visitors so you may see them coming and going or share the deck with them. Normally, the house stays pretty quiet though.
Other things to note
This space is located in one of the friendliest, most walkable places in the city. Three blocks to shops and restaurants, even an old fashioned corner store. It is also easily walkable to the K.U. Medical Center.

Volker is a diverse, energetic neighborhood. It is modeled after "Mr. Anonymous", William Volker, an early KC Philanthropist. The neighborhood carries forward the ideologies of caring and brotherhood. It is filled with long time residents who cherish the area and protect it and it's diverse population as much as possible. Volker has many artists and architects and I think some are attracted to it's unique housing stock and openness to individual lifestyle. It's loads of fun!

The owner loves hosting and will be readily available, if desired. There will be travel information regarding Kansas City events and dining and the hostess will help in any way possible. As a 37 year resident of the neighborhood, she knows the area. I respect your privacy and want to have as little or as much interaction as you would like. It is my goal for you to have perfect enjoyment of the space and the city. I am never far away and expect a call or text for ANY NEED or question from a visitor.
