A cosy, open-plan cabin for two on the Waternish peninsula, overlooking the sea with outstanding views across Loch Snizhort to the ferry port of Uig, and south to Raasay and the mainland. The Cabin is on a small croft/farm and lies within its own garden. It has a maritime theme, free wifi, plenty of books & maps.(see below for accommodation details) The Waternish peninsula offers abundant wildlife, and in the hamlet of Stein, next to the sea, a lovely old pub and a Michelin starred restaurant .

The space
During this pandemic additional measures are being taken to ensure guest safety. A hospital grade disinfectant is used, and extra cleaning regimes adopted.
The Cabin is compact but has a great feeling of space inside. It has a marine theme with its furnishings, artwork, some of its wall lights and boat style staircase. Old ships have provided some of the maritime memorabilia. In addition to the lounge and kitchen there is also a shower room with wc and a washing machine. Stairs are used to access the double bed on the mezzanine floor.

Where you’ll be

Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, United Kingdom

There is a wide range of wild life seen near the Cabin at certain times of the year, much of which is rare or seldom seen elsewhere in the UK. This includes: 2 species of Eagles, Corncrakes, whales, dolphins and seals, a number of orchid species and for the specialist, some beautiful mosses and lichens. From late autumn through winter to spring, when it is dark Northern Lights may be seen across the sky when conditions allow.
The surrounding area is a quiet crofting community along a single track road next to the sea and the countryside also makes the Cabin an ideal centre for walking or off road cycling, with paths through the forestry or out to the lighthouse on Waternish Point. Boat trips are available nearby at Stein, or Portree and farther South from Carbost and Elgol.

We are a couple living on a small farm / croft on the Isle of Skye. We love the scenery and the community in which we live. On the croft we look after sheep, hens and grow fruit and vegetables.
We feel priviledged to have guests from all over the world with a wide range of back grounds and cultures and always look forward to meeting new guests.

During your stay

We live next door in the old croft house, and if we are there, happy to offer any help or advice on day trips, what to see and where to go.
Rosie, our cheery retriever (dog) will probably come and welcome you, then only come if called.
