We had some slight trepidation having read some of the other reviews, but the accommodation far exceeded our expectations. A room with a fantastic view, a generous breakfast with great coffee, friendly and welcoming hosts, and a super location. We expected noise problems, but there were none. The only tiny negative was that the two bathrooms were a high demand area in the morning, but the bathrooms were spotless and the water hot.
Benedetta and her husband were charming and welcoming. The room we stayed for one night is part of a 5 bedroom (2 bathroom) detached flat on the same floor of the host's house. The building is situated in the deep City Centre of Siena at a walking distance (5 mins) from the worldwide famous Piazza del Campo.
It was a very nice experience staying with them. I'll definitely stay there again and also recommend it to my friends.
Benedetta found rapidly a new solution for our location. We slept in her friend house. It was very great and a good place. Thank you !
My husband and I found this a mediocre place to stay. There were three main issues that made our stay less pleasant. First, the walls are very thin. Even when people are having a normal conversation, you can still hear them. We were woken up at 3AM by some other guests who were having a loud conversation in the room next door (we understand that this is not establishments fault, but rather an unfortunate attribute of the thin walls). The following night the noise from the street was also very loud as there was a party or bar playing loud music. If you do stay here, bring earplugs. The second issue was that the breakfast was not what we expected after reading the reviews. The baked goods and meats were the highly preserved, store-bought variety and did not seem to be "local" or "homemade" as stated. Third, the common area of the apartment smelled very strongly of diapers. Overall, Casa di Osio seems more like a hostel than a B&B.
Benedetta and Matteo were very nice. They gave us a map of Siena and a fantastic restaurant recommendation- some of the best food we had in Tuscany (and with a discount). The apartment had a beautiful view from the kitchen and was well located. The room did not look like the one we booked online. It was a B&B so it seemed like you were given whatever room was open when you arrived. So our room was light pink with a photo of tulips over the bed and a blue metal bedframe. The room was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also nice. Breakfast was wonderful: coffee, cereal, cookies, locally made cakes and breads.
