Located on Eastside of Providence, between Brown athletic center and football stadium, is our large 6 bedroom house on quiet street with lovely garden. Park in our driveway.
Cereal, pancakes or eggs for breakfast? Please let me know the night before
Large Family Home.
This bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bath attached. It is a Jack & Jill bath, so you can rent the adjoining room too. It also has a queen size bed. So bring the family!
It is a big house, so if my calendar appears to be booked, ask me anyway. Chances are there is a room available.
You may have a choice between 5 bedrooms. Each bedroom is rented separately and can only accommodate up to 2 people (and a pack-n-play crib if you bring one). If you have more than 2 people, you should ask for more than one room.
Interaction with Guests
We will interact as little or as much as you desire.
Our neighborhood is very stately and manicured and green with broad sidewalks. You can walk to Starbucks and CVS and other stores and restaurants. We are just down the street from the Brown Football Stadium.
The #40 bus stops around the corner.
The train station is a 20 minute walk (uphill - call and I'll pick you up).
Other Things to Note
For an additional $10/person ($12 with wine or beer) you can also have dinner with us. We are vegetarian and all produce is fresh and purchased locally. Dinner is usually served at 7:30pm.
If you have any food allergies or restriction, and you let me know ahead of time, I can try to accommodate.
I am allergic to bananas.
We go to bed fairly early. You may stay downstairs but we ask you to be quiet after 10pm.
We do not have a TV.
I immediately felt welcome when I entered the Weinberger’s beautiful home. Zachary offered me tea, and showed me to my bedroom. It was clean, quiet, and private. The bedroom also had it’s own bathroom which was prepared with towels and travel-sized shower gel and shampoo. Shari is an excellent cook, and was generous to offer me a seat at lunch and dinner. I was even able to iron my clothes at the end of the night. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
I had the pleasure of staying with Shari and her family the night before a residency interview in Providence. The neighborhood was beautiful! The room was not quite ready when I arrived - but Shari worked quickly to make sure that she got it ready as fast as she could! Shari and her husband were both extremely welcoming and made sure that my stay went smoothly. The room was very comfortable and there was a private bathroom with a shower. I definitely felt safe in the home and in the neighborhood! I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay!
Host and hostess were friendly, flexible, and accommodating. They have a beautiful, large home in a quiet neighborhood and made us feel right at home. We would definitely return here on any future trips to Providence.
Shari is a wonderful host. Offered to pick me up at the train station, communicated promptly and frequently and I had no issues getting into the house despite a later than anticipated arrival.
Great hosts! Exactly how it described, my daughter and I are happy with the choice we made to stay here.

Some people will just complain about anything. Here is a new one: in a review from a recent guest, she complained that our hangers need updating. Can some one please tell me, what is an updated hanger?
***We have been airbnb hosts now for nearly a year. We have had mostly extremely pleasant experiences. In the past few weeks, we have hosted a few people who would have been better served by a hotel. Here are a few things you should know: This is our house. We are sharing it with you, but we are not your servants. We will not be ordered to carry your luggage, or to make your bed during your stay. We do not offer room service, but you are welcome to come down and join us in the kitchen. You will not find a TV in your room. In fact, you will not find a TV in our whole house! What you will find is a friendly couple who is willing to share their home and a cup of coffee and friendly conversation.***
We have lived in Providence for 5 years and I never thought I would like it as much as I do. It is a great walking city, but you can borrow one of our bikes if you'd rather ride. There is lots of good outdoor space. Our neighborhood is very green and full of flowers. I can see the ocean (well the Narragansett Bay) every day, a short walk or drive away. The food scene here is varied, plentiful and affordable. I can offer suggestions. It is very easy to be a vegetarian. We belong to a CSA so we get fresh fruit and vegetables every week to add to what we grow in pots on our terrace. I love living walking distance to Brown University. During the school year there are always fun things going on. On the weekends there are often street festivals or markets or celebrations downtown. I can point you in the right direction. If it is a rainy day, the RISD museum is a favorite.
