Cereal, pancakes or eggs for breakfast? Please let me know the night before
Large Family Home.
This bedroom has a queen size bed and a private bath attached. It is a Jack & Jill bath, so you can rent the adjoining room too. It also has a queen size bed. So bring the family!
It is a big house, so if my calendar appears to be booked, ask me anyway. Chances are there is a room available.
You may have a choice between 5 bedrooms. Each bedroom is rented separately and can only accommodate up to 2 people (and a pack-n-play crib if you bring one). If you have more than 2 people, you should ask for more than one room.
Interaction with Guests
We will interact as little or as much as you desire.
Our neighborhood is very stately and manicured and green with broad sidewalks. You can walk to Starbucks and CVS and other stores and restaurants. We are just down the street from the Brown Football Stadium.
The #40 bus stops around the corner.
The train station is a 20 minute walk (uphill - call and I'll pick you up).
Other Things to Note
For an additional $10/person ($12 with wine or beer) you can also have dinner with us. We are food conscious and all produce is fresh, organic and purchased locally. Dinner is usually served at 7:30pm.
If you have any food allergies or restriction, and you let me know ahead of time, I can try to accommodate.
I am allergic to bananas.
We go to bed fairly early. You may stay downstairs but we ask you to be quiet after 10pm.
We do not have a TV.
Everything was perfect. Shari has given us some advice with regard to the typical traffic patterns on I-95, as well as recommended to see the Providence Waterfire show. We had a lovely chat with Shari and Zachary, and enjoyed the breakfast they prepared for us. The house is big and cozy, in a safe and quiet neighborhood. Would recommend to anyone.
This was a very brief stay of just one night while in town for a graduation; but what a nice stay it was. Shari made us feel very welcome with flexibility around checkin, parking etc. The home and neighborhood are beautiful and just as described. We did have the opportunity to chat with Shari over breakfast and truly enjoyed that. She and her daughter are lovely. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone visiting Providence. Oh ... and Milo is JUST adorable!! He's a very sweet dog.
Shari and Zachary's house was literally, home away from home. They are a lovely couple who offered all advice, assistance and ways to make our stay with them as comfortable as possible. Myself and my pregnant wife rented a room at their place for an extended stay, and we were more than pleased to have made this decision. The house is in an upper class neighborhood, within easy access of several main attractions in providence. The area is safe and fully serviced. More importantly, Shari and Zachary were more than wonderful to us, like a true family and made us feel at home, offering everything they could to make us feel welcome and happy. Thank u so much Shari and Zachary for everything! We love u loads xx
My son and I had a very pleasant overnight at Shari's large home when we were there for the Providence marathon. We each had our own bedrooms with adjoining baths. Shari was very helpful in recommending restaurants and providing directions around Providence.
Shari was away when I first arrived, but she had told me how to get inside and given me a heads up about her dog Milo. Because I'm really not a dog person, I still got quite scared by Milo's barking, but finally braved myself to get in (turned out the barking was the only way Milo welcomed me!). I think my room was a bit different from the pictures, because the bed was full size rather than queen; and because the desk was inside the open closet, there wasn't a real closet to hang clothes. But there was a shower room inside (a bit small). And since I was traveling alone for only two days, the arrangement was fine.
Soon after I arrived, Shari and her husband came back home. They kindly chatted with me, making me feel at home. They were very helpful in terms of giving suggestions for transportation and sightseeing. Shari also offered to make me breakfast and drive me to the conference place, but I didn't want to bother her.
The house is beautiful. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were as pictured, although I didn't have time to hang out there that much. The internet in the house was high speed (I believe there was a router in my room.) Everything I needed (towels, hairdryer, hot and cold water to drink, etc.) was either there for me or came quite handily. The only thing I'd complain is the heating. When I was there, the temperature suddenly dropped. I asked Shari to turn on the heat the second day. She did so, but the the room temperature changed too slowly for me to feel any better.
The neighborhood is charmingly serene and safe. It's very close to Brown and downtown. An Uber trip from Shari's place to downtown cost only about $5.
Shari is a warm, gracious, generous host and a really interesting woman as well. She went out of her way to help me feel at home, helped me find my way around Providence and to a couple of great restaurants, and even helped my daughter who was making college choices in Providence! Milo the dog is a cutie!
Great Experience! This was my first time using airbnb and the process was easy. The description of where we stayed was accurate, the home was clean and exactly what we needed. We were in town for only 1 night and really just needed a place to sleep and shower. The confirmation process was great too, I liked the direct contact with our host once confirmed. Will definitely use airbnb again in the future.

About the Host, Shari
I am a friendly person who loves old friends and new experiences. Always looking for something interesting to do, I can be found in the garden creating something new from found objects - wind chimes, fountains, sculpture, furniture. I love to travel and I love to be at home too. Providence is a great place to live and visit - there is always something going on!
